Aurelia's POV
"Why aren't you asking about your people? Aren't you curious to know if they come looking for you? Or if they missed you? Since you came here you have never shown any reluctance to leave. I wonder why it's so?" He threw hundreds of questions at me and I don't even know which one of them I should answer first.
He shot me a look and a frown replaced his cold expression. He stared at the door and then at me.
"Aren't you coming in?" He asked, coldly. Subconsciously I flinched back and held the door.
A smirk crossed his lips but that was all he didn't do anything.
Why was I shivering? Am I that scared of him or what about what he said?
My people came looking for me but why? Am I not the insignificant princess again? What more do they want from me?
I let go of the door, took a deep breath and then strode inside the room with silent steps. I looked around and noticed the well furniture room.
There was a shelf at the end of the room and the curtain was loose preventing the light from coming in. I noticed a sheath hung at the wall and wondered if that was a real sword?
I sniffed in the scent of burnt macone wood and stared at him with interest in my eyes.
He really has a good taste.
"What's with the look?" He asked and I shook my head as I kept on looking around.
"Come here," He ordered and I felt my soul leave my body. Have I done something wrong?
I flashed him a fearful look but he gave me an inpatient one in reply so I had no choice but to walk towards him with unsteady heartbeats.
His large hand grabbed my right arm as he pulled me towards him.
"What were you thinking?" His cold voice drifted into my ears as his breath fan on my nape caused me to shiver. I felt uncomfortable down there as I sat on his lap.
I tried asking what he was doing but his firm hold on me made thought run wild. Is it that he finally accepted me as his mate?
I questioned myself as I felt his large warm and rough hand move on my nape grabbing my neck lightly.
"Look at how delicate and pale you look. Don't you want to give it a second thought and reject my offer?" He whispered, his voice seductive and alluring manipulating my mind that I couldn't even think straight.
What was he doing? I am confused!
I tried getting off his hold even though I love it when I am close to him but this was just getting out of hand I can't take it anymore!
I shook my head frantically as I tried getting off from him but he didn't let go!
Instead he held me down and the next thing that happened was me being placed on the table face staring at the white ceiling.
'What are you doing!' I screamed inwardly as I tried getting off from him. Somehow my thoughts trailed off and I started thinking the wrong way.
What if he wanted to have his way with me?
My eyes widened in horror as I thought about this. No, no, no, no,
"What do you think you are doing?" I tried saying it but all my words fell into deaf ears. An evil smirk curled on his face as he stared at me and I swear I felt fear at that moment.
I didn't know what to do and I was so confused. Very confused.
What's going on with him? Did I do the right thing coming to this place or I made a huge mistake?
I started thinking hard as I felt him inch closer and closer towards me that I had no other choice than to close my eyes.
"You can come in," I heard his voice say in annoyance and my eyes pry open to see the door open and Danciana walked in with a checkerboard on her right hand.
On seeing her, the words she said to me earlier echoed in my mind like music.
Is it truly as she said? Then… if that was so. I have to be weary of him.
Feeling embarrassed being seen in such a position, I pushed him and hurriedly got off the table, face flushed.
"I can see you were having a good time together. I apologise for disturbing," She said calmly without any expression on her face.
I didn't think much about this as I thought it was normal for one to be like that…mostly when I was still a stranger In the pack.
What would she think of me now? Someone that it's so cheap to lie on a man's bed just to survive?
What should I do now?
"You didn't disturb me. What is it you want?" He asked her as he arranged the desk, picking the files that were on the floor.
"I came here to show you a report. If she can excuse us for a moment," She replied and I found my heart tightened when I heard the disgust in her voice.
There's no need to tell me that I have gotten into her bed book. And there was no need to inform me to get out of here as I was too ashamed to be here after this incident.
I felt the hot gaze of Alpha Dante. I didn't dare return the look to him as I quickly left the place like it was on fire.
I heard a soft click and I knew the door was locked. My feet stepped on the cold hallway as I slowly made my way back to my room but just when I was about to reach the narrow lane I stopped.
'He talked about my family. Did they come check up on me? Why?' I questioned myself.
I stared at the quiet hallway before me and had a change of mind.
I am not going to stay here as a slave or a captive. I'll find my way out.
I wanted to see the sun again, feel the warmth and also feel the tenderness of the wind. This place was just too suffocating.
My feet retreated back as they stepped on the cold floor. I made sure not to make any noise and conceal my aura.
Like this they won't see me nor recognize my scent or detect me.
And just like that, I ran away.
. . .
I was standing before a door that looked secluded but it had the exit sign on it. I was breathing heavily and frantically looking around to see if there was anyone around.
I've been out of sight for over an hour now and I haven't seen or heard anything.
Is it that they haven't noticed that I haven't returned? If that was the case then it's good that way.
I held the knob and slowly turned it and the familiar clicks were heard and the door opened.
Taking a deep breath, I pushed the door open and saw what was at the other side of the door.
Alpha Dante's POV"What is to report all about?" I asked her immediately, I saw the fragile girl leaving.Danciana stared at me with an expressionless gaze."It's about one of the warriors in the pack. I noticed that he has been injured internally and it's affecting his inner beast," She kept the file on the desk and pushed it towards me while still maintaining eye contact.I ignored the look she gave me as I don't have the luxury to explain myself to people."How did this happen?" I asked her and she shook her head then said."Either one of the enemies during the last confrontation used a forbidden tool on him and that's why he has been like this for weeks now. I am afraid if we don't find out what tool was used on him. He is going to die," She stated calmly. My fist curled into a fist as I read the report. I took a deep breath and then fell into deep thoughts." What about Lucas?" I asked."Where is he and what is he doing concerning this matter?" I asked and she smiled."I've not
Alpha Dante's POV I stared at Aurelia, my voice tinged with a mix of amusement and superiority as I delivered the words I knew would sting. "Your mother doesn't want to see you again," I told her, a smirk playing on my lips. Aurelia's eyes met mine, a flicker of hurt and confusion passing through them before she shifted her attention to the book she held in her hands. She began writing in it, her pen swiftly gliding across the pages, as if seeking solace in the act of putting her thoughts into words. Her silence grated on my nerves, and I couldn't resist taunting her further. "So, you still want to go home, huh? Even if your mother doesn't want you?" I let out a loud, mocking laugh, relishing in the power I held over her emotions. It was satisfying to see her discomfort, to witness the cracks forming in her resolve. Curiosity got the better of me, and I leaned in closer, narrowing my eyes at her. "What do you think you'll find at home, Aurelia? A warm embrace? Love? Acceptance?" My
Alpha Dante's POVI focused my attention back on the document spread out before me, the weight of responsibility pressing upon my shoulders. The room fell silent after Aurelia's departure, but I could feel Danciana's gaze fixed upon me. Curiosity got the better of me, and I looked up, meeting her intense gaze. There was a hint of concern in her eyes, as if she had sensed something amiss."Why are you staring at me like that?" I asked, trying to maintain a composed demeanor.Danciana hesitated for a moment before gathering her thoughts and responded, "I'm sorry, Alpha Dante. It's just that you seemed distant, lost in your thoughts. I wanted to make sure everything was alright."I sighed inwardly, appreciating her genuine concern. "I appreciate your concern, Danciana," I replied, offering her a small smile. "But rest assured, I'm fine. We have important matters at hand, and it's crucial that we focus on our duties."Danciana nodded, her eyes still fixed on me. "Of course, Alpha Dante. I
Aurelia's POVI quickly jumped up to my feet the moment I heard the room door open. My heart raced in my chest as I stood trembling, hoping it wasn't Alpha Dante coming to punish me for trying to escape earlier. But to my relief, it was Danciana, the pack's doctor, who entered the room. She approached me with a kind smile, asking how I was doing and how my night was. I desperately wished I could answer her verbally, but my voice had been taken from me.Danciana handed me a book and a pen, signaling for me to scramble my response upon its pages. I took the pen with shaky hands and wrote down that I wasn't fine. She glanced at my words and nodded, understanding the weight of my suffering. "It's normal for you to not be fine, Aurelia," she said softly, her eyes filled with empathy. "You have a mate who doesn't care about you, who only wants to hurt you." The truth of her words struck me deep, and I trembled at the realization of my predicament.Danciana closed the door, creating a sense
Danciana's POVAs Alpha Dante left the room, a wave of relief washed over me. I had just finished a conversation with Aurelia that could potentially have serious consequences. I couldn't help but wonder if Dante had overheard our exchange. Although his demeanor seemed unchanged, I couldn't shake off the nagging feeling that I needed to err on the side of caution.I turned to Aurelia, who was still writing her response on the book. I knew I had to play it cool, so I smiled and said, "Aurelia, let's continue this conversation another time. I think we both need a break right now. We can start the speech therapy class later, alright?"Aurelia paused, her gaze flickering between me and the book. She seemed slightly puzzled but nodded in agreement and wrote in the book. "Sure, Danciana. I understand. We can pick up where we left off later. Take care of yourself, okay?""Thank you, Aurelia," I replied, trying to mask my anxiety. "You take care too. We'll make progress together, I promise." W
Aurelia's POVI sat on the cold, hard floor of my cramped room, feeling the weight of exhaustion seeping into my bones. My mind was clouded with a mix of fear, frustration, and desperation. Each passing day felt like an eternity, and I yearned for freedom with an intensity that consumed me.Suddenly, the familiar sound of the door clicking open snapped me out of my reverie. I looked up to see Lucas, one of the pack members, entering the room carrying a tray of food. He placed it on the small table and announced that my meal was ready. The aroma of warm, nourishing food wafted through the air, enticing my senses.I rose from the floor, my body aching and protesting the movement. With weary steps, I approached Lucas, who stood there watching me. As I reached him, I mustered all the courage I had left and gently placed my hands around his neck, standing on my toes to bring myself closer to him. His eyes widened with surprise, and he cautiously asked what I was doing. My heart pounded in
Danciana's POVI was seated in my plush office chair, engrossed in the endless stream of paperwork that cluttered my desk. The monotony of the day had settled in, and I yearned for something to break the tedium. Just as the thought crossed my mind, my phone jingled, shattering the silence that enveloped the room.Startled, I quickly reached for the device, eager to find out who could be reaching out to me at this hour. I swiped my finger across the screen and brought it to my ear, "Hello?" I greeted, my voice tinged with curiosity.A voice, familiar yet somewhat distant, resonated through the receiver. "Hey, it's Dylan," he said, his tone hesitant but unmistakable. Dylan, Aurelia's stepbrother. I hadn't spoken to him in quite some time, so his unexpected call piqued my interest even further.A small smile tugged at the corners of my lips. "Dylan, it's been a while," I replied warmly, my mind racing to recall our last encounter. "No need to go into details about yourself; I remember yo
Aurelia's Point Of ViewI was tired. Exhausted, really. It felt like an eternity since I had been confined to this desolate, secluded room. The walls were bare, the air stale, and the floor cold against my tired body. I had tried to force myself to sleep, lying there on the hard ground, but my mind was too restless to find any solace in slumber.Just as I was beginning to drift into a fitful doze, the door suddenly swung open with a resounding bang. Startled, I jolted upright, my heart pounding in my chest. Through the hazy fog of sleep, I struggled to make out the figure standing in the doorway. It was Alpha Dante, my heartless mate. His presence in my tiny prison was both unexpected and perplexing.Alpha Dante wasted no time. He swiftly strode toward me, his purposeful steps echoing in the empty room. Before I could gather my thoughts or utter a word, he reached out and firmly clasped my hand, pulling me up from the frigid floor. Confusion flooded my mind as questions raced through
Aurelia's Point Of ViewI took a deep breath, my heart heavy with the burden of forgiveness and reconciliation. "Dante," I began, "I know that Vivian was involved in what happened to me, and I can't deny the pain and betrayal I felt. But I also know that she was manipulated by Genevieve, just as I was."Dante regarded me with a mixture of pride and concern. "Aurelia, forgiveness is a noble path, but it's not always easy. Are you sure this is what you want?"I nodded firmly, my resolve unwavering. "Yes, Dante. I believe that forgiveness can heal wounds and strengthen bonds. Vivian was once a dear friend, and I want to offer her a chance to make amends. Maybe, in doing so, we can rebuild the trust we once shared."Dante's expression softened, and he gently squeezed my shoulder. "You have a compassionate heart, my love. If that is your wish, then we shall go to Vivian and extend our forgiveness."Tears of gratitude welled up in my eyes as I embraced my mate. It was a step toward healing
Danciana's Point Of View I found myself standing at the edge of the dense forest, hidden in the cloak of shadows, my heart racing like a wild stallion. The tantalizing whispers of intrigue had reached my ears, carried by the winds of gossip that blew through our pack like a tempest. Alpha Augustine, the unyielding leader of the neighboring pack, had issued an ominous decree—the arrest of Genevieve, Aurelia's stepmother. I couldn't simply ignore the electric curiosity that surged through me. I had to know every detail of what was transpiring. With each cautious step, I ventured further into the foreign territory that belonged to our neighboring pack. The scent of unknown wolves hung heavy in the air, a strange and potent mixture with the familiar earthy aroma of the woods. It wasn't long before the clearing came into view, a bustling hub of activity teeming with pack members. My keen eyes roved through the crowd, searching for the familiar faces of my own pack mates. I approached Ezra
Bryan's Point of viewI couldn't believe my eyes. Was that Aurelia? I thought she was dead. So, Genevieve only lied to me. This was unfair. How could I have believed her? I neglected my own daughter so much, and now I feel like the worst father in the world. I felt like I let my own daughter down. I felt like I had ignored her when she needed me the most.My heart pounded in my chest as I walked up to my daughter, each step heavy with the weight of regret and longing."Aurelia," I called out, my voice choked with emotion. She turned towards me, her eyes widening in disbelief, and then she rushed into my arms, embracing me with a warmth that washed away the years of guilt and sorrow. "Father. I missed you so much," she whispered, tears streaming down her cheeks."I'm so sorry, Aurelia," I whispered back, my own tears mixing with hers. "I'm so sorry for neglecting you. I should have watched over you and taken care of you. It's all my fault. I thought I lost you.""You didn't lose me, Da
Genevieve's Point Of ViewI knew I was my own downfall, and no matter what I did, Alpha Augustine would still punish me. All I could do now was to plead with my stepdaughter Aurelia for kidnapping her and trying to kill her. I could be locked up for more than twenty years in a dungeon for my crimes. And I was scared to death that my mate Bryan may find out about Casey being my daughter, which no one knows for the past twenty-three years of her life.As I scanned the crowd, my heart sank as I saw Bryan join the gathering, his eyes filled with concern and curiosity. Panic surged within me, knowing that his presence might unearth the dark secret I had harbored for so long. The thought of losing him, the only source of solace in my turbulent life, was unbearable.Summoning every ounce of courage I had left, I rushed towards Aurelia, my knees hitting the ground hard as I knelt before her, tears streaming down my face. "Aurelia, please," I begged, my voice trembling with desperation. "I'm s
Aurelia's Point Of View:I sat down in my small, dimly lit room, engrossed in the pages of a thrilling novel. The world within the book offered a brief escape from the harsh reality I had been living through. Angela, my loyal and compassionate friend, walked in, her footsteps barely making a sound on the creaky wooden floor. She cleared her throat gently, breaking the silence that enveloped me."Hey, Aurelia," Angela said softly, concern etched into her features. "How are you holding up?"I closed the book and looked up at her, offering a faint but grateful smile. "I'm doing as well as I can, Angela. Thanks to you, I'm safe now."Angela's eyes softened, and she shook her head. "You don't have to thank me, Aurelia. I couldn't let them take you."I nodded, my heart swelling with gratitude for my friend's unwavering support. "I know, but I still appreciate everything you've done for me."Curiosity danced in Angela's eyes as she pulled up a chair and sat down beside me. "So, what's your n
Genevieve's Point Of ViewI was in my car, parked inconspicuously at our usual meeting spot, waiting for Casey. The cold air inside the car did little to alleviate the growing unease in my chest. Each passing second felt like an eternity, and my impatience was getting the best of me.Finally, the car door swung open, and Casey slipped into the passenger seat. Her face was a mosaic of emotions - anxiety, relief, and something else I couldn't quite place. I couldn't hide my irritation as I turned to her, my fingers tapping impatiently on the steering wheel."What took you so long, Casey?" I snapped, my tone sharp and accusatory.Casey's eyes darted around nervously, her lips trembling. "I'm sorry, Genevieve," she stammered, her voice quivering. "I... I couldn't find Vivian at our usual meeting spot."My heart skipped a beat, and a shiver of fear raced down my spine. Panic began to well up within me as I asked, "Are you absolutely sure? Did she say anything about us?"Casey's voice remai
Alpha Dante's Point Of ViewThe moon hung low in the velvety night sky, casting a soft, silvery glow over the secluded forest clearing where Aurelia and I stood. Her presence, so close yet seemingly distant, was like a fragile flame struggling against the encroaching darkness. Her eyes, once bright and full of life, now held a shadow of fear that sent shivers down my spine."Aurelia," I implored, my voice laced with a mixture of desperation and longing. I took a step closer to her, my senses attuned to every nuance of her body language. "You can't keep running from this, from us. You can't hide forever. Come home with me, please."She hesitated, the night breeze ruffling her dark hair as she turned her gaze away from me, as if searching for answers among the stars. "Alpha Dante," she finally spoke, her voice a fragile whisper in the night. "You don't understand. There are people after my life. They won't rest until I'm dead."My heart clenched at the raw fear in her words, the thought
Alpha Dante's Point Of ViewI told Angela that I wanted to see my missing mate Aurelia, since she knows where she is. She told me that Aurelia is in her Pack. I told her to get into the car, and we drove through the dense, moonlit forest. The anticipation was building within me with each passing mile.Angela kept glancing at me, concern etched across her face. "Dante, I didn't expect things to play out like this," she began, her voice quivering with uncertainty. "This is so sudden for Aurelia, and she doesn't know that I've revealed the truth about her rescue and her safety."I tightened my grip on the steering wheel, my knuckles turning white. "What do you mean, Angela? Why wouldn't Aurelia know? Is she in danger?"Angela sighed, her eyes fixed on the winding road ahead. "No, it's not that, Dante. It's just that she's been through so much. She was terrified, wondering what you would think of her after everything she endured."I glanced at Angela, the weight of my actions weighing hea
Angela's Point Of ViewI decided to meet with Alpha Dante and tell him what's really going on. It wasn't just about clearing Aurelia's name; it was about revealing the truth that she never poisoned him and never ran away. I knew it was going to be a tough sell, especially with all the evidence stacked against her. But I couldn't stand by and watch her suffer for a crime she didn't commit.I picked up my phone and dialed Danciana's number. She was not only a close friend but also the pack's trusted doctor. We had worked together countless times, and I knew I could rely on her. When she answered the call, her voice was laced with concern. "Angela, is everything all right? You're not feeling unwell, are you?"I hesitated for a moment, grappling with the weight of the situation. Finally, I replied, "No, Danciana, I'm physically fine. But there's something urgent I need to take care of today. It's a matter of great importance."There was a pause on the other end of the line as Danciana pro
