HURT BY HIS WORDS.

SOPHIE'S POV

As I watched Cassey storm out of the house, her face contorted with anger and frustration, a sinister smile crept across my lips. Finally, I had succeeded in breaking her spirit and leaving her utterly disoriented. It was a small victory for me, but it meant so much more. From now on, she would think twice before challenging me again.

I knew what she had done, and she did as well. She knew I already knew it was her; the terror in her eyes, the surprise in her stare when she glanced at me, betrayed her. Even though, she tried to hide it, I knew she was afraid. Her fear was palpable from a distance.

I was going to deal with her in a way she never imagined possible. "She wanted to hurt me, therefore I was going to show her what it felt like." I thought to myself as I stepped back into the house.

Memories of prior incidents flooded my memory, and tears welled up in my eyes; I could see the room, and I was being held captive. My thoughts briefly
