Chapter 3 Don't Let This Opportunity Pass

Celeste wore a red halter dress that exposed her fair shoulders and arms. She was seated at a table amidst some men, casually chatting with them.

So far, she had won all the games, and the chips in front of her piled high.

With an air of indifference, Damon noticed that his marks on her had faded.

It seemed that her skin's ability to heal was exceptional.

"Mr. Bishop!" The surrounding men all stood and greeted Damon respectfully.

Only Celeste remained seated and acted as though he was a stranger.

Damon sat down in an empty chair, but he didn't participate in the card game.

He watched coldly as Celeste cheated in every round, her expression never shifting once.

The men at the table were either rich, powerful, or both. Still, they didn't get mad when a beauty like Celeste won their money.

It felt like they were simply humoring her.

They continued to play from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. By the end of the night, Celeste had more than a million dollars worth of chips.

"Won't you join us, Mr. Bishop?" Celeste provoked Damon as she leisurely grabbed a chip and fiddled with it in her palm.

According to Megan, this casino was one of Damon's properties, and he visited every 17th of the month.

Expectedly, Celeste had managed to bump into him here.

Celeste absolutely needed money right now, as the medical fees to treat Caleb's condition would only become more expensive.

She figured that even if she didn't manage to reel Damon in, it wouldn't hurt to earn some extra money.

When Damon didn't react, she stood up and said, "I'm not playing anymore. It's so boring to win this easily."

She got ready to go to the croupier and exchange her chips for money.

"Since you invited me, miss, there's no reason to turn you down," Damon drawled.

This statement drew Celeste back to the card table.

Damon's card skills were exceptional and superior to Celeste. He was determined.

Staring at Celeste, he ensured she lost every time she made a bet.

Gradually, Celeste's mountain of chips shrunk.

By the end of it, she had also lost the ten thousand dollars that she had started with.

"Hmph, I'm not playing anymore." Celeste pouted as she got up.

She then "accidentally" lost her balance and fell straight into Damon's lap.

This made sure her presence was known, even if they hadn't crossed paths much before.

"Ah, it seems she's here for Mr. Bishop!"

"She sure was ruthless while beating us. But look at how docile she was with Mr. Bishop!"

"Mr. Bishop, you can't let the opportunity pass when there's a beauty right in front of you!"

The men at the table saw through Celeste's intentions to seduce Damon and began to tease them.

Damon said nothing as he lifted Celeste from him with a hand.

He pulled on the ribbon that hung from the collar of her dress. This choked her and made her cough.

He had to give it to her. She knew that she was beautiful and kept using it to her advantage.

An overly ambitious woman like her disgusted him.

"Mr. Bishop, I'm staying at the hotel next door. You should come by tonight," Celeste said as she forcefully struggled out of Damon's hold.

She then took out her room's keycard from her bag and tucked it in Damon's belt.

After that, she slowly got up and left the casino.

As he watched Celeste's departing figure, Damon recalled the information on her from a few days ago.

"Go investigate what that woman went through while studying abroad. And find out why she suddenly came back," read the text Damon sent Liam.

Damon suddenly felt that he'd become prey, one that Celeste had her eye on.

She was bold for thinking that she could toy with him.

What a joke! No one on this earth could manipulate him.

Damon took the keycard from his waist with a cold expression.

He'd like to see what she was up to.
