Chapter 9 A Tear

The next day, Damon was frowning as he read Celeste's report from her visit to the gynecologist.

It said, "Patient has suffered a tear. The wound is about an inch long and is mildly infected."

It seemed Damon found it impossible to control himself when it came to Celeste.

He had always portrayed a chilly image to the public, unwilling to display his emotions easily. But with Celeste, it was like she flipped the switch and turned him into a beast.

She made him go into a frenzy and lose his self-control. With her, he showed his natural self and became who he truly was.

He recalled how he'd pressed her into the couch in that private room at the club.

Damon felt his heart sink when he thought about her smile and the sad look in her eyes. He had been too disrespectful to her. He vowed to write her another check the next time he saw her.

The sound of his phone ringing broke him out of his thoughts. It was Jasper calling.
