Chapter Ten
Toby’s Point of View
*LATER THAT EVENING*
Over the past few hours, I haven't been able to think about anything other than Violet and how upset she got. It's completely understandable, the girls are being really unfair. She wasn’t a threat to them, the pack or my relationship, so why are Georgie and the other girls giving her such a hard time?
The moon was full, the pack was assembled and I walked into the garden to address them. As I approached them, lined perfectly across the gross, I shifted and stopped right in front of Georgie. Growling. She knew she was in trouble.
Being in the same pack meant when we were in wolf form, we were able to communicate without talking.
‘’Your treatment of an innocent person has gotten out of control. All three of you She-wolves owe that girl an apology’’.
I could feel Georgies annoyance and anger radiate off her like a heatwave. I knew she desperately wanted to give me the same bullshit excuse, but she couldn’t. At this moment, I was her alpha and she respected me too much to backchat… for now.
‘’Next time that girl is around, I want the three of you to apologize. Do you understand me?!’’
‘’Yes, Alpha’’. The twins instantly responded, but surprise surprise, my girlfriend didn’t. I stepped forward and let out another low growl.
‘’I said do you understand me?!’’
‘’I will not!’’ She growled back. Annie nudged her with her nose and gave her a small whine. ‘I will not!’’ She repeated. I snapped, biting at her, but being careful not to make contact. I was warning her, not harming her.
‘’Georgie, I’m not asking you, I am telling you. I am ORDERING you. As your Alpha!’’ My command made an involuntary howl erupt amongst the pack, showing how serious my word was. She struggled against it but eventually let out her howl and lowered her head, submitting. ‘’Good, Now go. Run and protect’’. I dismissed the whole group and they ran out the garden gate to do their job.
I sat down and looked up at the moon. It's an urban myth that Wolves can only shift during the full moon. We can, and do, shift whenever we want. Day or night, it doesn’t matter. The last time I shifted… Was the night I met Violet. The night we found her... And that pig! I whimpered remembering what happened. What I saw.
Should I go and see her?
‘’No! You stay away from her! This is OUR night!’’ My head turned to see Georgie standing there. Her Silver fur standing on end, glowing in the moonlight.
‘’I gave you an order! Go. Run. Protect!’’
‘’No!’’
‘’What did you just say to me?’’ She was defying an order. An order was given to her by her Alpha. This was serious disrespect!
‘’You are thinking about going to her!? This is a night to be with me! Us! The pack! And you’re thinking about your previous Violet!?’’
I shifted back into my human form and so did she. I turned and headed into the house to get some clothes.
‘Toby! Answer me!’.
‘No, George! You’re being ridiculous! Stop it!’.
‘This is a full moon, Toby! You’re not going to her!’. I stormed over to my girlfriend and grabbed her by the arms, pulling her close.
‘Don’t tell me what to do, ever! I am your Alpha! I am your partner, you have no right or authority over me, understand?!’ Knowing she went too far, she nodded quickly. ‘Good’. Pushing her away from me, I headed upstairs to get dressed.
If I wanted to go and see Violet, I bloody well will!
****
As I made my way to Violet's hotel, which was conveniently not that far from my house, I kept thinking, was this a good idea? I knew it was innocent, but the hassle it was causing with Georgie which will eventually impact the pack... Was it worth it?
…and then the stubbornness in me raised its head. I could do what I liked and what I wanted and if that meant going to see a FRIEND, then I will.
Walking through the lobby doors, I looked around, it was pretty quiet. I made my way over to the reception desk where Carol was working. I knew her through Georgie as well as seeing her briefly whenever I was here working. She was older but sweet, and she definitely had a soft spot for me. As soon as she saw me approaching, she smiled and leaned forward on the desk.
‘Toby Wolfe, What are you doing here at this time of night?’ I smiled back.
‘Well, actually, I’m here to see a friend, she’s staying here, but... I have a problem’. She raised her eyebrow, intrigued. ‘I don’t know what her room number is’.
‘Ohhh, that old chestnut. What’s her name?’
‘Violet Duffy, she’s here with her parents’. Carol turned her attention to her computer and typed quickly for a moment.
‘Yes, she is staying here, but I'm sure you can understand that I’m not allowed to give out that information’. I figured as much. Still smiling, she turned the screen only slightly, towards me. I took a quick peek and saw the room number before she turned it back again. ‘I wish I could help’.
‘That's quite alright, I understand’. I thanked her and excused myself, telling her I’d see her soon and made my way to the elevator and got in. I gave Carol a small wave and then the doors closed and she was gone.
Standing in front of Violet's door, I hesitated for a minute before I raised my fist and knocked loudly three times. I waited, listening or any sign of movement. I knocked again. Hearing the bolt on the other side slide slowly and the door opened but only slightly and there she was. I smiled sadly, knowing that by her actions that she was still on edge, even answering the door, but as soon as she saw me, she opened it properly and beamed a smile at me.
‘Toby, what are you doing here? Do you want to come in?’ She stepped to the side and I went in, closing the door behind me.
‘Honestly, I just wanted to make sure you’re ok. Today sucked, huh?’
‘I didn’t... Until they showed up. I nodded, understanding.
‘I’m really sorry, trust me, they have been told to leave you alone and apologize when they see you next’. She just shrugged.
‘It's ok, it's not really important’.
‘Yes, it is’. We were silent for a few seconds and I looked around. ‘Where are your parents?’
‘Oh, they’re out. Making the most of their vacation I guess’.
‘How come you aren’t?’ She shrugged. For the first time, I took in her appearance and noticed she was in her Pyjamas. Shorts and a white T-shirt that was pretty see-through… and she wasn’t wearing a bra. I looked away again, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable. ‘Sorry, were you getting ready for bed?’ It wasn’t that late, but I didn’t want to interrupt if she was settling down.
‘No, I was just being comfortable’. She let out a small chuckle and I couldn’t help but return it. ‘I was actually watching a movie’. She pointed at the paused film on her TV. ‘It's just started if you want to stay for a bit?’
‘That depends... What is it?’ I asked with another smile.
‘IT’. I ‘’hmmm’’ed. ‘The 2017 version’.
‘Well, I’m sure I can stay for a little while’. Sitting down on the sofa, She played the movie and I couldn’t help but find myself stealing glanced over at her. Her legs, her thighs, her stomach... Her chest... I stopped for a second when I saw her slightly raised nipples through her shirt and instantly looked away again.
No, No, I wouldn’t think of her in that way. She deserved more respect.
‘Stop staring at me’. She suddenly spoke up. Oh, shit, she saw me. I looked back over at her and she was smiling, which in turn, made me smile too.
‘Sorry’. I turned my attention back to Pennywise and off the girl sitting next to me...
About an hour or so had passed and the movie was nearly finished, but it was getting late and I could tell Violet was getting sleepy. She kept yawning and rubbing her eyes.
‘Hey, I should probably get going’. I told her, my voice low, gentle. She instantly shot up, as if waking herself up, making her braless breasts bounce slightly.
Damn it...
‘Are you sure? You’ll miss the end of the movie’. I smiled at her.
‘It's ok, I know how it ends’. She ‘’ohh’’ed and paused it again. I stood up and she copied my movements. ‘Are you free tomorrow?’ She perked up to that.
‘Um, sure, I think, why?’
‘Just wondered if you want to hang out?’
‘Yeah, absolutely’. She agreed, a little too eagerly, but it made me smile. It was cute.
‘Cool, Well I’ll come by in the morning, ok? Text me, let me know a time’. She nodded. ‘Maybe I can grab your number too? Make it easier to contact you?’ She nodded quickly again and asked for my phone. I passed it over and she typed it in before giving it back.
We said our goodbyes and I left. When i was back in the lift, safely away from the eyes of anyone who could see me, I leaned against the wall and sighed…
..Well, this isn’t good…
Chapter ElevenViolet’s Point of ViewI woke up bright and early, not that I had much choice. I really struggled to sleep, I think it's because I was so excited about hanging out with Toby today, that I really struggled to switch off. I knew it was silly, what was going to happen? Literally nothing. We were just friends and we were just chilling out as friends… but I was still really looking forward to it.I had a shower and picked out a nice but casual outfit. Just some shorts and a top, it was still like a million degrees outside. Grabbing my phone, I jumped back down onto my bed and took a deep breath before I opened up a new Chat screen and typed a ‘’breezy’’ message to Toby;Hey, good morning, it's Violet. I was jus
Chapter Twelve**A Few Days Later**Grabbing a towel, I shoved them into my bag. The past few days, I’ve had to keep myself busy and entertained. I decided to stay away from the beach, I didn’t wanna risk running into Toby, his friends… or the girls for that matter and that seems to be a very popular place for them to hang out. I’ve been spending most of my time down at the hotel pool. It's been relaxing and I feel it's been quite a good daily workout too, so, win-win really.Walking out into the suite, dad wasn’t around, but mum was. She asked me what time I was planning on coming back and if I was joining them for dinner tonight, to which both answers were ‘’I’m not sure’’.
Chapter ThirteenToby’s Point of ViewWhile I waited for Violet, her dad started up a conversation with me. I knew, just by the questions he was asking, he was trying to figure me out, but I had nothing but the obvious to hide and I was smart enough to dodge questions I couldn’t or didn’t want to answer;‘So, How long have you lived here then, Toby?’ I never actually told him I wasn’t born and raised here, but he was right to assume.‘About 10 years, I lived in Louisiana before that. It was a small town, I wanted to get out, do something more exciting with my life’.‘You don’t sound southern’. Lisa, Violet's mother suddenly added. She had been pretty qu
Chapter FourteenToby’s Point of ViewThat's what I wanted to say but I refrained. I hadn’t shared that little detail with the police for obvious reasons, but it killed me inside to see Violet suffering, worrying, scared he would come back, and I knew he wouldn’t.‘I just do’. It was all I could say to her. ‘Listen, i have to go’.‘What? Why?!’‘I have to go and meet my friends, I’m sorry, but... Are you free tomorrow?’ She nodded. ‘Good, I’ll text you, ok?’‘Sure’. I could tell she was sad again. Against my better judgment, I leaned down and kissed her
Author's Note: Just a reminder, this is an ongoing story. There are many, many more chapters to come :) I upload a chapter at a time, when the story is finished, you’ll know as I will mark it with either ‘’The End’’ or ‘’To be Continued’’ depending on if I feel it can be continued with a sequel instead of making the book too long. Thank you! :)________________________________________________________________Chapter FifteenToby’s Point of View**The Next Afternoon**Last night the guys did as I asked and relocated that creep's body to an isolated spot on the beach. When I met up with them, Ryder made the ‘’anonymous call’’ to the police. We wanted them to find the body as soon as
Chapter SixteenToby’s Point of ViewWalking into the bar, I was happy to see that there weren’t many people here today. We went and sat down at the table in the corner, a bit more out of the way. I’m sure she just wanted a nice, quiet drink, and if this is what she wanted to celebrate the fact she feels like she's got some of her confidence back, then it's the least I can do to help her……Plus, I wanted to talk to her about some stuff that was on my mind too.I asked Violet what she wanted to drink and headed over to the bar to order. When I returned, I sat down next to her in the booth and smiled;‘So, I wanted to talk to you about some stuff’. She put a straw in her drink and t
Chapter SeventeenBy the time I arrived back at the hotel, I realized what a mistake I had made, but nothing was going to change. Even if I had told him I liked him, Even if he told me to my face he liked me back, he still had a girlfriend and that wasn’t going to change.Walking into the hotel suite, It was empty. That seems to be a common thing these days. I mean, it was fine, they watched me like a hawk and now they don’t. I much prefer it this way.Closing and locking the door, I went and sat down on the sofa, only then noticing a note left on the coffee table in front of me. I grabbed it and gave it a quick read.It was just from mum explaining that they had gone for a date night and wouldn’t be back till late. Again, late r
Warning: This chapter contains a detailed sex scene between Toby and Violet._____________________________________________________________Chapter EighteenThe kiss seemed to last forever but all too soon, he let me go and stepped back. I felt myself blush and I had to look away, feeling self-conscious. I stepped to the side, letting him in and closed the door again. I leaned against it and found the confidence to look up at him.‘Hey’. It was all I could think of to say. He chuckled slightly and I couldn’t help copying him. ‘So.. you got my text then?’‘Yeah, I got it’.‘I’m sorry, I know it was wrong of me but... I can’t
THIS IS JUST EXTRA INFORMATION. PLEASE DON’T READ IF YOU THINK IT'S A CHAPTER! So, there you go, the story is over. I’ll be honest after Toby left, I had no idea where the story was going, throwing in the pregnancy was a spur of the moment choice I made very late at night when I was trying to figure out How I wanted this story to end.I had a massive amount of people complaining that one of my other books was ‘’unfinished’’ because it was left on a cliffhanger, much like this story has been. There will be a sequel, but please know it won’t be out for a while. I have a few other books I need to work on first. I need to write the third book in the Outlaw Series as well as TRY and figure out if I have enough ideas for a third book in t
Chapter Seventy Three -- Final ChapterNaturally, the first thing I did when I arrived in town was to try and call Toby, but it went straight to answer phone. I texted him a few times and gave him a chance to respond while I went and checked into the hotel I had booked for me and Axl. I figured it was probably best so that if Toby needed time to process everything, then we wouldn’t be crowding him. It was only booked for afew days, but I could always extend our stay if I needed to.…but hours had passed and he hadn’t even viewed the messages. What was going on? Was he just not interested in hearing from me anymore? Maybe his choice to not contact me wasn’t for time and space... Was it simply because he didn’t want to?
Note: Due to the negitive reviews after this chapter, I feel I need to make one thing clear, this book ends on an unexplained cliffhanger, meaning while the ending might seem "out of character" for Toby, remember that! It IS out of character for him, so thus, there must be a reason for what happens. Bare thst in mind please before leaving damaging reviews and remember there will be a sequel to clear all that up. I thought it would be obvious, but apparently not.. Enjoy! :) Chapter Seventy Three -- Final Chapter Naturally, the first thing I did when I arrived in town was to try and call Toby, but it went straight to answer phone. Chapter Seventy OneThe day finally came. I had been planning it with my mum for the past few weeks. The flight was in a few hours, the hotel was booked, everything was sorted. She did try and convince me to leave Axl behind and just go alone, but as much as I know she was trying to make it easier for me, I couldn’t leave him behind, even for afew days. She and dad were driving us to the airport. I panicked a little bit when I realized that we were flying and the baby didn't have a passport, but that was sorted out, no problem, and now, we were both ready to go on our adventure and find Toby.It shouldn’t be that hard. I’d just call him and we could figure it out from there. I was saying basically in the same place me and my parents stayed before, so I knew my
Chapter Seventy** A few days later **I was finally home from the hospital and as I thought, things were different. Dad doted on Axl, and he had been a lot nicer to me too. It was nice for things not to be like they were. I was really worried things would never get back to normal and now, well, they were even better than normal even was! While I was in the hospital, recovering a little, mum and dad put the cot together in my room for me. I had left it till the last minute to do it myself, but in all fairness, he was a few weeks early. Even with him coming earlier than expected, I had sat down and discussed with my parents that I was going to still wait till after Graduation to leave town. They knew of my plans from the day Toby left, when
Chapter Sixty NineDad got me to the hospital in record time and mum was already there waiting for us. She worked close by, but even so, that was pretty impressive. They took me into an examination room to check me over and apparently, I was already pretty far along with the labour. I was 7 cm dilated, which meant it was nearly time.I wasn’t sure if I was even ready for this.Mum was going to be there with me in the delivery room, Dad was going to wait outside. I don’t think he was ready for this either. As they wheeled me past time, heading up to the delivery suite, I could tell by the look on his face, this was a changing point.Things were going to get better after this. I just knew it.
Chapter Sixty Eight*** A Few More Months Later **Graduation was fast approaching, it's all you could hear about in school, but luckily I wasn’t there much of the week anymore. My due date was moved up to before graduation now and being so heavily pregnant, I wasn’t really required to attend, as long as I collected school work to complete at home, but I rarely did that anyway. If people weren’t talking about me already, they surely were now, and I couldn’t give a fuck. Apart from the obvious things, I was pretty happy with my life, for the most part, and while people were picking what colleges they were going to and what they planned to do after High School, I knew what I was going to do… I was going to be a mother.
Chapter Sixty SevenWalking into the house, I called out to see if mum and dad were home yet. Mum called back that she was in the kitchen, and I headed over. I asked where dad was and she said he was still at work. Good, it meant I could share the good news with her.‘I thought you were staying at the other house tonight?’ I smiled and put the shopping bag down on the side.‘I am, but I forgot to pack some clothes that actually fit’. She chuckled. ‘I have something to show you!’. I told her, unable to hide my excitement. She stopped what she was doing and turned to look at me, waiting. I opened the bag and pulled out the little blue sailing boat onesie and she gasped, covering her mouth.
Chapter Sixty SixThe day dragged on and on and even when school was over, it still didn’t end. The phone call from the doctors was to remind me of an appointment I had, that admittedly, I had forgotten about, and then I still needed to go home and get clothes too.The Business just never seems to end these days. There's always an appointment or a job or something that needs doing. I was just trying to get through and make it till graduation. If I wasn’t allowed to drop out and the school was clearly not going to kick me out, I had to graduate… and then I could leave. I could go and find Toby……I wasn’t stupid, I know there is a good chance he was not going to be waiting for me. By the time I’m actually able to go, We would have been apart for a very long time
