Vera rushed to the lift and impatiently pressed the lifts button.
She just wanted to leave.
She didn’t cry.
No, she would do that later.
She had already made a fool out of herself enough.
The lift was taking too long.
Vera thought about taking the stairs.
But there was just way too many and she wasn’t a hundred percent yet.
Vera then thought, where was Luke.
She expected him to rush after her.
She had seen him step out of his office and he had looked pissed.
Maybe he was pissed at her. She thought.
It would be a first.
After all, she had slapped and then punched one of his employees.
She thought, it was probably for the best.
Maybe, this would make both Luke and Vera to take a step back and just remain friends.
