140. Feeling Empty

"Finally, you're home. I can't wait to have dinner with you. Tonight's menu is my favorite," Elizabeth said when she arrived downstairs.

A second later, she stretched her neck. She watched the door as if waiting for the others to arrive. However, there was only Edmund with Sky's backpack and the green teddy bear.

"Oh? You go home alone? Where are Alice and Sky?" Her acting was very concerning.

Instead of replying, Edmund walked straight towards the stairs. He was to tired to face his mother.

Elizabeth knew very well that Edmund was upset. She understood that it was a good sign for their mission. However, as a mother, she never liked being ignored by her son.

"Ed? Your mother is talking to you. Why don't you answer?"

While going up the stairs, Edmund still thought she wasn't there. Elizabeth's joy was slowly eroded by anger.

"Ed? What's wrong with you? I just welcomed you home, but you're ignoring me?
