Grace Conner
When I woke up from my unconsciousness, it was eerily silent. She gazed outside the window of the room she was locked in.It was early morning hours. And judging by the silence in the Mansion, it was likely that every one was either asleep or not at home.It was likely that my step mother Olivia has gone to the hospital to take care of her son Adam. And Anna must have followed her as well.My father was never really around but he was always biased towards Adam because he was the son.Anyways, wherever they were, they weren't here right now.And this was my only chance at freedom.I had to get out of here before anyone came back.I looked at the window, it wasn't really hard to cross it. The hard part was to jump from it. This was the 3rd floor. If I fell, I would most like break a bone or two and considering the state of my body, it would only make it worse. But if not now, then never.I had no idea what they will do to me and where would I end up.I had to take this chance.Groaning in pain, I carefully stood up from the ground. There has to be something that would be of help.I looked around the room. Desperately trying to find anything that would be of help.My gaze fell on the curtains. There were two of them, if I tied them together and used it as a rope I would atleast fall from only a few feet above the ground and not the whole third floor.I took them off as silently as i could. After I tied them together, I tied one of its end to the desk that was by the window.it was huge enough that it wouldn't fit in the window, if ever came the chance that I might fall. After opening the glass windows I pulled myself up on the table and threw the curtain off towards the ground. And as expected they were at least 5 feet above ground level. It wasn't bad. I could do that.I didn't waste a moment and swiftly started climbing down with the help of my make do rope.I had just reached the first floor when suddenly I was pulled down.My concentration and balance both broke down and I fell with a thud.Apparently the table that was on the ground was now stuck on the window because of the force.I saw the lights turn on of the rooms above.Shit! I have to run before they see me.I climbed on my feet which I now noticed was sprained. But I had to get away.I forgot the pain and ran with all my mightThe screams behind me just pushed me harder. And soon I found myself in an alley, hiding behind a huge garbage bin.I hid there in a corner. And waited. Waited for them to go away. But my malnourished body couldn't keep up and my eyes slowly shut down on their own accord.A cold splash of water brought me to life again.I blinked away the droplets of water and the haziness from my eyes.In front of me stood two men, their eyes filled with nothing but lust. One of them reached out and started touching my face. While the other swiftly got behind me and covered my mouth with his hand.My eyes turned red. I just walked out of a haunting nightmare just to fall in another one.I desperately tried to get out of their hands but they were just too strong for me.And they were men.The one who was caressing my face with his gruff hands reached down and ripped off my shirt.I cried out for help but it was muffled by the hand of the man who was raking his nose up and down my neck. The one in front of me whistled and snickered. Just when his hands were about to touch my trousers, a voice behind him stopped him.“You stupid pig! How many times have I told you, when you find a woman, take her to the master first. This way we could make money.”Another man came into view, he was lesser in size than the two who were about to assault me.“But boss. Why can't we just taste one before giving it to the master.”His supposed boss snickered behind him, “Do you think those rich people would touch anything that has been used by us?”“But how would they know?” The one behind me asked.“Oh it comes with the business.”They were talking so casually as if I wasn't just sitting here crying my eyes out. Scared out off my wits. The boss ordered the two men to take me to some van. And then a piece of cloth was placed on my nose. My vision became blurry and as my eyes rolled back, the last thing I remembered was getting off from the ground and thrown on a hard surface before I completely blacked out.▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎ The colourful lights made my headache. It was an hour ago when I was brought back to consciousness. And was forced to wear a dress and then was thrown to this room along with a few other girls. Some were just as down as me while a few were looking like it wasn't anything new.And now as the room started filling with more and more men, I felt disgusted. It didn't take much for me to know that these men were here to have sex.And we were here to be offered to them in exchange for money. It wasn't long before the bidding started. And two girls were already out.I took in a sharp breath when a man pointed In my direction and bid.A few followed soon after him.And at last I was sold. The handler came towards me to hand me over to whatever man had bid for me. I started crawling back towards the wall, even though it was touching my back. I wished it could just take me in.The man reached out his hand towards me but before he could touch me, gunshots rang out.It was all chaos. Everyone was running everywhere. A few men in black suits came inside and started firing. When I saw the rest of the girls fleeing towards the door, I took it as my cue to do the same.It was fine if I got shot but It wasn't fine If any of these disgusting men got their hands on me.Desperately trying to run out of the room, as people were falling here and then, I finally found an exit. But before I could make it to it, a gunshot rang just behind me and I clutched my stomach as immediate pain shot through it.I looked at my hands that were covered in blood.I tried to steady myself as I gripped the nearby wall. Slowly sliding down along it.I looked at the red covering my hands and smiled.Maybe this was it. Maybe this was how it was supposed to end. At least I could be free now.I gave a humourless laugh at my thoughts and as my eyes started towards darkness, I locked them with a pair of even darker eyes across the room.Harvey AshtonI have witnessed blood more than anything in my life. Saw people dying in front of my eyes. And still, no feelings could be brought out of me.But this woman, she was something else.Maybe it was the desperation or the happiness in her eyes that caught me by surprise. But she felt these emotions because she was dying. As if she was all too happy to just die.Either she was nuts or went through something that death couldn't even hold a candle in front of it.Carrying her in my arms, I sped towards my car.My driver, Lewis, hot on his tails as he opened the backseat for us and sat himself behind the steering wheel as we headed towards the hospital. I couldn't let her die, there was just something about her that I couldn't ignore. An hour later the doctor came out of the OT, “She is out of danger, we have taken the bullet out but we have to keep her monitored for the next 48 hours.”I nodded at him in silent appreciation as he walked away.My men didn't know there were inn
Grace Conner I woke up to unfamiliar voices in my ear and a subtle smell of disinfectant in my nose. “Oh you're awake. Please don't try to move. You have sustained a bullet wound in your stomach so you might also be feeling some pain. Let me just check your vitals before I go call the doctor.” The nurse checked my vitals and then with a few words of caution left the room to call the doctor. Her absence gave me time to look around the room. The room was spacious unlike any hospital room I had seen. Except for the medical equipment that was around the bed there was a seating area to my left and a kitchenette on the right side. There was also a door in the corner which I supposed was a bathroom. I was barely registering anything though. Except for the fact that I remembered getting shot. I thought I died, how did I end up here? Fuck! If they informed my family I'd be dead. The feeling of dread caught me. I couldn't go back there. My thoughts were interrupted when the door was
Grace “I don't think I'm in the wrong room, Miss Grace.” The man extended his hand towards me for a handshake, “Harvey Ashton.” My eyes widened in disbelief upon hearing his name. Ashton, that's the most influential family in the city. And the heir of it all, Harvey Ashton was sitting right in front of me. Tentatively, I reached out a hand for the handshake. He clasped it firmly and shook it before reclining back in his chair. “I believe we are not acquainted, Mr. Ashton. So I'm really puzzled by this visit of yours.” I said, genuinely perplexed. “Indeed we are not acquainted. However, I'm well informed about you.” He replied. “And how do you know about me?” I inquired. “Miss Grace, we're merely squandering time having this insignificant conversation, and I do not have so much time to spare. So I'll just get straight to business” he responded in a serious tone. I didn't appreciate his way of speaking. He is the one who encroached in my hospital room uninvited, and now he wa
“What do you mean by you don't know where she went?”Olivia looked at her daughter and replied, “I don't know Anna. They just told me that someone took her away, just when the auction started.”“So that means that they bought her right?”“No. The man told me that the bidding was yet to start when some man appeared on the stage and took her away brazenly. Without a word and without a cent!”“But, how could they let someone just barge in and take her. I'm sure they had security there, considering it is such a gathering of big shots.”Olivia massaged her head as she listened to her daughter's questions. She was infuriated and confused. Who would take Grace away, just like that. She thought she might make a few millions by selling her off but this happened! “Did they see his face?” Anna asked.“He was with another man, they were both wearing masks and had bodyguards with them. And it all happened so fast that they were out of the door, in the blink of an eye!”Olivia's enraged voice mad
The ride wasn't long. It was barely five minutes when they reached a beautiful villa. It was not in the same area as others and was basically secluded. It wasn't that big as well but it was beautiful and had a vintage look to it.Archer helped her out of the car and led her inside the villa. He took her through a corridor that led to a wonderful courtyard, which had a hut looking place that was decorated with flowers, and candles. He pulled the chair out for Grace and they both sat. Grace was about to ask him something when she heard footsteps behind her.A few men dressed in staff uniforms laid out a few appetisers on the table.“Miss Grace, I hope you like the dishes. I don't know about your usual likes and dislikes, so I just prepared a little bit of everything.”“Well…it doesn't really looks like a little Mr. Dawson.” She teased him with an amusing expression. The table was

So make sure to check it out!) Today was the day, I was to get married to Archer Dawson. The next in line to succeed the Dawson Group. I was standing beside a Rolls Royce Ghost, that picked me up from the Villa as scheduled. I had gotten the message from Archer through the head maid to be ready on time. Now I was waiting outside for him to show up. Apparently, he was handling something very important. The reason why he wasn't the one to pick up his own “bride”.Dressed in a simple yet elegant long skirt and silk blouse, I assessed the surrounding.
