"Sold?"

Judy thought she had heard wrong and was particularly shocked, "Avery, are you serious, all of the children, sold? Even their own children, they have the heart to sell? That's illegal!"

"In the small mountain village, people in the past didn't understand the law," Avery said, "Andrew is Aaron's eldest son, the first child in the family, and generally wouldn't be given away. Besides Andrew, Aaron also had three daughters and three sons, all sold."
