(Back to the Past.)Very early in the wee hours of the morning, Lucas wakes up in the chair and sees that he's been tied up with a long rope.It doesn't take him long to see that it's a joint of long ties that seemed terribly familiar and also that he's been locked in what used to be his own former room before he moved out to start his own life, away from home.He fiddles with the ties with his tied hands as well and sees that they were tied quite well and he can't even figure out where the actual final knot is since there are knots after every single tie.He gives up in about thirty minutes of struggling to find and lose any of the knots at all but he doesn't succeed. He leans back in the chair and takes a deep breath of his own room. It's stopped smelling like it used to, it used to smell of mint leaves, oh how we loved that scent and never stopped buying the scented automatic freshener that always kept his room sprayed. He turns his chair laboriously to look at the windows and sees
While doing rounds through the mall,. Mikayla along with other relevant executives and Danielle, her secretary are doing the daily checks to know which of the shops earn well and those that don't so they can be on their way."What about Hermes?" Mika asks as they approach the shop."It's earns better than a dozen of others.""Hm. What's their average weekly income?" She asks Danielle who checks the iPad in her hands."It's about four hundred and forty thousand dollars.""Okay, that's fine."As they walk on, Mikayla notices a woman behind them. She turns to look and she branches away, into another shop.Mikayla whispers to Danielle. "Make sure security keeps an eye on that woman, she's been following us a while now."Danielle nods as she leaves the crowd to go do what she's been asked to do."You all can go, I want to stop by somewhere."All the executives behind her all nods and excuse themselves to go do some other activities as well and she walks forward. She stops in front of the S
Mika holds out the chair for the young girl to sit in.Angela sits and removes the cap, letting her deep brown hair falls around her shoulders as she looks around the office, curiosly taking it all in."How are you?" Mika asks first, watching her as she retains her composure."Fine ma'am. Thank you for meeting ma."Mika laughs lightly. "I would meet you in a heartbeat. Your mum told me all about you then, even showed me pictures of you." Mika smiles, nostalgic. "How is she now?"The girl looks down at her laps. "She's dead." She replies, her voice soft and emotional.Mika crosses over to her side of the table and puts a comforting hand on Angela's shoulder. "I'm so sorry to hear that. When did this happen?"She sniffles. "Last week Monday."Same time that the Anderson's had decided to swap husbands."Naturally?" "No. She was pushed into the mouth of a moving vehicle and it..." She's unable to finish the sentence and fully burst into tears. Mika hugs her neck from the back and pats he
Lily steps out of the police station and shields her eyes from the blinding sun that she hasn't seen for the last two days.In detention, waiting for the officer to come get her every two or three hours for exhaustive interrogations that she had always said the same thing over and over in. Thankfully, her parents had sent her a lawyer on the first day and he had let her know that no matter how much they question her, no matter how much pressure they put on her, they can't retain her for more than forty eight hours, that's two days, they can't keep her locked up for more than two days without finding some conclusive evidence with which they can charge her to court. And she had banked on that kept to her story...He had been an abuser of women, who had beat her so much that she's got those purple scars all over her body. They had asked about the previous scars since all the ones there seemed to be newly gotten and she'd said he really gives her scars only when deals don't come through,
Thankfully, the taxi drops her right off at the specific estate location and she gets off. There's even a bit of spare change left and in her good mood, she leaves it to the taxi driver to keep as a tip which he half heartedly thanks her for before driving away. She walks into the estate since just not any car can drive in there. Even when she'd come along with Price in the past, they'd had to go through some inspections before they were let in but by now she's already a familiar face and she walks right past the security posts."We heard about your husband ma'am, we're sorry to hear it." One of the security men consoles her as she opens the pedestrian gate for her to walk through."Thank you very much. It hurts so much and then to be detained for two days again. I feel so bad right now.""It was most likely a misunderstanding and it's usually like that in most spouse marriages you know? It must have just been a useless suspicion. You don't look like someone who'd hurt a fly."She chu
She walks past the first check point and sighs... Thankfully for her, she finds a taxi in a short while and enters into it.She describes her house... The one she lived in with Price and there it took her.As soon as they arrive, she exits the taxi and tells him to wait that she'll quickly grab her phone and make a transfer of her payment. The taxi man nods and turns off his engine and watches her go inside. She closes the main gate behind her and she sighs. The whole place has been cleared out, no single soul in sight. Different foot prints on the ground, so many wastes left behind by all the detectives and reporters and even the staff of the estate is gone. She walks in and grabs her phone which had been left in the room upstairs since the past two days. She chooses to not check anything yet and attend to the man waiting for her downstairs first which she does.As soon as he drives off, she goes back inside.Right there in the living room, the yellow and black bright tapes of the fa
A small sound in the room startles Stella and she wakes up immediately, and looks around. The bright digital clock beside her on the bedside table is showing the time to be two fifteen in the morning. She looks to her other side and it's empty. Her eyes slowly adjust to the darkness and she can make out Reese walking around, pacing around in the room."Reese?" She calls out, wiping her eyes, wondering the reason for his distress and restless walking around so early in the morning.Hearing his name startles him and he looks at her. "Oh, sorry. Did I wake you?""I guess. Why are you not asleep? Walking around like that.""I'm fine. I just can't seem to sleep, that's all. You can go back to sleep. Don't mind me.""How can I sleep when you can't?" She pushes back her blanket and makes to stand up but his steely voice stops her right there."I said you should go back to sleep." He says, his eyes trained on her.Slowly, she puts her legs right back under the blanket and covers herself, watc
For the first time in a long time, she wakes up to the bright morning sun, in her eyes, but just perfect enough that it isn't burning into her eyelids the way she usually wakes to on park benches or street way benches where she usually passes the night. For someone that's supposed to be in school, she watches all of her mates as they live their lives without any worries, at least, not the type that makes them run from one place to another because they say every human, no matter how little or or stupid or inconsequential what they are dealing with is, it's still a worry. She pushes back the duvet and makes her way into the bathroom to freshen up for day. She looks through her small bag and finds a sundress in there. She smiles at it.She's not had any reason to wear something like that but now, it looks like it's a new dawn so she can try to live again. She puts it on and picks up her slightly worn bag and makes to leave, her destination? Her mother's grave. It might be the last time s
