Almyra's POV

I picked up the file in which I needed for the meeting and looked up with my eyes shut close.

The feeling of firing Ms Thompson was really a painful one, tears rolled down my cheek as I held the file tightly.

I rose up from where I sat as I walked out of the door and shut the door behind me with a fake smile plastered on my face.

The mood I was while coming here was the complete opposite of the one I'm in as I'm going out. I waved to everyone with a smile as I made for the exit of the building.

I sat in my car with my head buried in my palms, it was truly a painful decision to make as I fired her.

As I sat in my car, trying to process my emotions, I couldn't help but think about the conversation that had just taken place. I had known Ms Thompson for years, and she had been an integral part of my company. But despite her strengths, her performance had been struggling, and I had to make the difficult decision to let her go.

Deep down I knew that what she did was not somethi

Almyra's POVAlarm sounds woke me up and I jumped off from bed. It was some minutes past six. I guess I was long gone from sleep since I slept late last night.I walked towards the curtain and opened a part of it, the rays of the sunlight brightening up a part of the room and illuminating the dust particles that danced in the air, like tiny ballerinas performing a choreographed routine. The warmth on my skin was a gentle caress, a comforting embrace that seemed to whisper, "A new day, a new beginning."As I stood there, bathed in the golden light, I felt a sense of hope stir within me. The darkness of the previous day, the burden of firing my secretary has now adjusted. I guess it was the feeling of betrayal that made me think the way I did yesterday. I guess I had a lot on my plate. That was why I was not able to think straight.I opened the curtain wider, allowing more sunlight to flood the room, chasing away my shadows that lingered in the corners. The brightness was almost blind

Almyra's POV,I got up from where I sat and I walked out of my office along with my bag and I shut the door behind me. I checked my wristwatch as I made for the exit, the time was already sixteen minutes past five.I drove to a particular spot and I parked by the side of the road and I got down. I let out a sigh as I came out of the car and walked towards a bench in the road as I admired the evening sun, it was a very beautiful one. The warm glow of the evening sun cast a serene ambiance over the surroundings as I walked towards the bench. I felt the gentle breeze rustle my hair, carrying the sweet scent of blooming flowers. The sky was painted with hues of orange, pink, and purple, a breathtaking sunset that seemed to stretch on forever.I sat down on the bench, feeling the worn wood beneath me, and let out a deep sigh. The stress and tension of the day began to melt away as I gazed out at the tranquil scene before me. The world seemed to slow down, and for a moment, everything felt

Almyra's POV,As I wiped the tears off my eyes it was like I went back in time. My thoughts drifted back to the time when I, Keith, Keiran and Kaleb would always stick together in the Orphanage home. The memories came flooding back, like a wave crashing over me. I remembered the four of us, Keith, Keiran, Kaleb, and me, huddled together in the orphanage, a bond of brotherhood forming between us. We were each other's family, relying on one another for support and comfort in a place that often felt cold and unforgiving.I recalled the late-night conversations, the shared dreams, and the mischief we would get up to, trying to make each other laugh in the darkest of times. We were a team, a unit, a family and nothing could break us apart.I smiled through tears, remembering Keith's infectious laugh, Keiran's quiet strength, and Kaleb's wild imagination. We had been through so much together, and yet, we had always found a way to emerge stronger, our bond unbreakable. My thoughts also drift

I could barely hear Kaleb's voice since his mouth was already filled up."Did you ever think of something else other than eating?" I teased him with a stiff laugh."Ok, that's not nice." Kaleb pointed towards me as he continued eating."Then you should stop eating too much," I crossed my hands defensively as I scoffed."I eat only three times a day Al. Three." Kaleb tried to talk defensively as

Almyra's POV,The attention of everyone was diverted to the door as the creaking sound became intense and louder. A man who seemed to be in his mid sixties walked into the door along with different men, they were without a doubt his bodyguard."What the fuck!?" ALMYRA'S POV. The breaking news of the day was: Hilda Farell dead after judgment was passed and Kitara Anderson sentenced to life imprisonment. "Whoops," a soft exhale escaped my nostrils as I saw Kitara being moved to a prison. That bastard should be sent to alcatraz instead of this prison. She deserves a mashed potato and not normal food. "Stop." I heard a voice beside me immediately I raised my hand to switch off the television. "Hold on." "I don't think you should be seeing this," I turned to him but he did not spare me a glance "You already told Gina to visit her yesterday and she went already but I was just too busy to go along with her," I held his hand. For the first time, tears rolled down Xavier's cheek as his gaze was set on the television. A picture of a rope used for hanging was shown in Hilda's part and Kitara's part kept replaying. "I still can't believe I did not get to tell her a proper goodbye," Xavier grasped the cloth on the bed tightly

ALMYRA'S POV. I opened the door of Xavier's room and I paused in shock, the room was lit and the curtains were opened, the rays of the sun poured in. "Hey," Xavier winced as he tried sitting up on his bed and Malum rushed towards him to help him up. "So do you still think I'm lying?" Gina's angelic voice could be heard behind me. My mouth was covered with my hands as I kept on gasping in shock, surprise and happiness. "I still can't believe." "Like how? How did it happen?!" I was excited like I had never been before…maybe. Gina pushed me towards him and I made her stop after holding her hand. "Give me a minute." My voice was more of a whisper. "Are you gonna keep me waiting?" Xavier arched an eyebrow and I knew it was still the Xavier I know, the Xavier I loved. "I'm sorry," I dropped my hand down and ran towards Xavier before holding his shoulder and I scanned his body. The spot that he was shot could not be seen since it was bandaged already. I hugged him and he winced

ALMYRA'S POV. Gina walked into the sitting room looking disappointed. "Where were you going to?" I placed my hand on my waist. "At this time of the day." She ran her hand through her hair. "I wanna see my mom." The smile on my face faded immediately I heard what she had just said, I dont think Gina would be fine when Hilda is finally hanged. I'm pretty sure that it would take time for her to accept that her mom's no longer with her or she would not be coming again and she won't get to see her or speak to her again. "Why?" I finally questioned her after she kept on changing the leg that she rested on. I guess she was waiting for my answer.

ALMYRA'S POV. "Are you gonna watch him?" I turned to Malum and he arched an eyebrow. "You do know that she almost killed you right?!" If anyone was asleep, the person would have woken up with the way Malum shouted. I walked slowly to him. "Gina give us a minute please." Gina nodded. "Sure, I would do that." She walked out of the room and shut the door behind her. A loud exhale escaped Malum's nostrils and her placed his hand on his waist. "Almyra you can't talk me out of this." "What if I want to go?" I crossed my hand above my chest and did not even mind the hairs that was partially blocking me from seeing Malum clearly. He clenc

This was a time to be very cautious but I let my guard down and look where it landed me in…a fucking piece of shit. I could say a ditch actually. If there's any blessihg or miracle that is supposed to happen in the future, I kept on praying inwardly that it should come now. "You asked me to tell you why I fucking dislike every single thing about you right?" She jolted me out of my thoughts amidst gritted teeth. "I hate your breath also." I was not moved, instead I just smiled and she even looked pained the more. She was desperate to see me lifeless, it won't be long before her long wish comes to pass so she should just enjoy every moment because I'm suffering at every tick of the cloc

I said amidst a gritted teeth. "Ain't in for no shit with you." She laughed and I just felt more offended. "Nah, you are not gonna do no shit with me." "It's great that you know," I spoke with confidence but I could swear that I was fucking afraid than when I stood on the top of a tall building at he thirteen. Hilda furrowed her brows and scoffed. "I'm not even sure you would get to leave this place." "What do you mean by—" She cut me short when she raised her palm up. "Oops! Almyra's POV. I opened my eyes but it was still dark and I looked around but I was unable to see a single thing. The veil that was used to cover my head was so black and thick. All I remember was when I got a call from Hilda that she wanted to apologize to me and I can't even believe I thought she actually wanted to apologize. I saw her face immediately I turned back but it was too late for me to even intercept the gun that was sent to my forehead. Ahh! My forehead screamed in pain immediately I remembered how I went unconscious. Hilda has her way of doing things and I could not help but keep questioning myself over and over on why she hates me, but I was fed up already. I won't hesitate to take action from now on. That has to be when I at least escape from this dark place but I can't even see a fucking thing.
