Carol stands there, staring at Damien without any expression. Her eyes observe as the color drains from his face. Slowly, she walks toward him—no expression, no sign language, and certainly no confusion visible.

Damien tries to say something, perhaps a last-second explanation. He swallows hard, watching her approaching him.

James looks like he’s scrambling for any excuse that might save the situation. After all, if Carol decides to throw Damien to the floor with one of her strikes, he’ll surely end up in a wheelchair. They both know how strong Carol is.
