Alex

“You are both advised to go through the contract and understand every phrase.” My lawyer said, and I looked up at his face before looking at Leslie, who was seated on the seat across the table.

“Here, Miss Brook,” the lawyer said. “Mr Cassel.” he handed me some papers as well.

“Shouldn’t there be a change in the name already? Mrs Cassel, not Miss Brook?”

“You would have to go through the contract, Mr Cassel. I have prepared the contract in a way that doesn’t contradict anyone’s preference while still upholding its authenticity.”

“Arghh!” I grunted before glancing at Leslie who was busy scrolling her eyes through the pieces of paper.

I decided to do the same, going through every line when she suddenly voiced out.

“It says here that I cannot withdraw from the contract before the stated date,”

“Yes, please. The contract cannot be terminated unless the period of two months has been concluded.”

“That seems very limiting,”

“Do you have a problem with that, Shayla?”

“I do. Obviously. What if you act as an asshole and I am unable to keep up with that?”

“Mind your words, honey. I am still your boss,” I retorted and she glared at me.

“Please…please. There’s no need to be so hard. The contract is quite flexible. It can be adjusted if need be.”

“No. I think we are fine with this,” I locked eyes with her, daring for her to contradict me but she said no words.

“Is that true, Miss Brook?”

“Mrs Cassel,”

“Unless the contract is signed and a declaration is made that you two have been married, I’m afraid she has the right to keep her name.” My lawyer interjected and I am beginning to think he isn’t for me.

I rested my index finger on my temple before finally nodding.

“Fine.”

“Are you okay with this, Miss Brook?” the lawyer repeated and Leslie hesitated a bit before finally replying.

“I think it's good enough,” she replied and I scoffed.

After we had signed the whole paper, penning our signatures in the appropriate places, we shook hands, and I gave her a smile, which she didn’t return.

“If I must add, you two need to begin to give appearances as soon as possible. You need to be seen together in places and events; you need to be seen shopping and fine dining. You need to be seen together often to make the media believe that you are engaged, otherwise, it would seem like a stunt and the likelihood of your partnership with the proposed company would be weak,”

“I believe she understands how this works,”

“How would you know that? You think I go about getting contracted to men?”

I leaned forward in my seat, locking my intertwined fingers together but the lawyer spoke before I did.

“Do we have a problem here?” the lawyer asked.

The son of a… is acting way too professional as my lawyer and it was starting to piss me off.

“Do we?” I tilted my head in her direction and she glared at me before finally responding.

“We do not have a problem.”

“Oh, good. With that, I would take my leave,”

The lawyer left with a copy of the contract, leaving just Leslie and I.

The contract seems like the beginning of a new thing between us. It was as though we had never worked together way before now. Like we had not met before this whole office meeting.

The tension between us rose and while my eyes would not leave hers, her eyes were everywhere but on me.

So, I decided to break the silence. “Do you have a problem with me, Shayla?”

She looked at me briefly before swiftly looking away. Talk more of a person who seemed quite confident while the lawyer was here.

“No…no. But…”

“Yeah. Go ahead.”

“Why do you call me Shayla? I have a name, you know.”

“Leslie just seems like a combination of two annoying words,”

“What are those words?”

“Less and a lie. I wouldn't want the basis of our relationship to stand on a lie nor you feeling less.”

She gasped.

She furrowed her eyebrow, trying to understand what I had just said but a knock sounded on the door.

My PA walked in with some files in hand.

“Sir, the car is ready, and here are the files you requested. An application has been sent to the Herdersons Inc., and a response has been sent from their representative,” she explained, looking over at Leslie, who was trying so hard not to meet her gaze.

As I stretched my hand out to get the files, I spoke. “Do you have a problem, Helen?” I asked and she quickly looked away, hurrying over to me with the files.

“No, sir.”

I nodded. “You may leave.” she hesitated a bit, giving Leslie a second glance before she walked out of the office.

“The car is ready, Shayla. We can leave now.”

“Leave? Where are we going? Also, do we have to leave at the same time? The stares have started you know,”

“Uhmm…you heard the lawyer. We need to be seen outside often. Also, we’re going shopping. If you will be my woman, you have to look it.”

She got up hastily. “What’s wrong with me?” she asked, turning around, giving a 360.

I lowered my eyes to her backside, which seemed so plump from the last time I stared at them. I could think of tons of things I could do to them.

She cleared her throat and I quickly raised my eyes to her face.

“Let’s go,” I said instead, grabbing my sunshade before getting up from the seat.

She rolled her eyes at me before grabbing her purse.

“After you,” I said. I wasn’t willing to deprive myself of a great view. She swallowed hard first before walking in front of me.

As she pulled the door open, she stopped in her tracks, before staring back at me.

“What?” I asked before reaching the doorway only to find Mayla standing with a daring stare.

“She is the new whore?”

LeslieI was getting into something I wasn’t prepared for but what could I say? I was broke and my mum needed saving. The woman before me looked so familiar and I tried to picture where I had seen her but I couldn’t. However, her comment about me got me on the edge. “A whore?” “Leslie, let’s leave,” Alex said and I was stunned for a few seconds. He called me by my name? He had just said the reason for not calling me that a few seconds again, and though I did not agree with his reasons, I still felt shocked hearing it slip off his tongue. He glared at the lady before hand-searching for my hand without taking his eyes off the lady. As he held my wrist, I shivered a bit against the contact. I stared down at our hands and so did the lady. “Who is this, Alex?” Her voice was deep, like a lady filled with testosterone, with an average face with a beauty mark at the upper side of her lips. She had light

Alex“Are you okay?” her voice sounded stealthy but still alluring. I pressed my hands on the steering wheel, my eyes fixed on the road without glancing over at her. “Why wouldn’t I be?” I replied dryly. It had been a very long day and as the darkness settled on the surface, my body seemed to surrender to its course. “You seemed off throughout the shopping and dinner,” “I’m perfect. Thanks for asking though,” my response cuts across as sarcastic as possible. I was far from fine. “Is this about the man from earlier? If it is…”“No, Leslie. No. It’s fine. It’s absolutely fine!” My voice was above my usual pitch but I took a deep breath. “Listen. It's just the first day of our union if that's what I should call it. It’d be too early for you to start acting up.” “Are you over it already? Do you need a break? You sound like you’re doing me a favor where, in fact, I am the one doing the grea

LeslieAs her palm connected with my cheeks, everyone’s eyes settled on me with shock apparent on their faces, including mine. I held my face with so much fury bubbling inside me, but I waited for Alex to do something that was evidently taking too long. He did nothing but stare out of shock before dropping the bags in his hands and grabbing her by her wrist. “You don’t just go about having what isn’t yours!” she yelled before Alex dragged her out of the house without saying a word to me. I just stood there, shocked without saying a word. I turned my head around, following them with my eyes as they stormed out of the room. I stood there in silence with tears pricking the corner of my eyes. I was in disbelief at what had just happened. Did Alex just drag her out without doing anything? Not even a word to me? “Do you need anything, ma’am?” the housekeeper which I had come to know as Lydia spoke, pulling me out of my t

Alex“What on earth do you think you are doing here?” “Getting back what’s mine? Is that a bad thing?” she seemed unmoved as though she had not just assaulted someone a few seconds ago. I raked my hand through my hair and this was one of those times I wished I had long hair. She moved closer to me, too close that I could feel her breath fan my neck. It was a foreign feeling that I had tried to subside all of this time, but my body seemed to betray me. She pulled gently at my tie with her right hand while her left hand snaked through my nape, forming circles on my skin. I hated the fact that my body still wanted her. I hated that she still had this effect on me, and I hated the fact that my body still betrayed me against her touch. I shut my eyes, taking in the feeling her touch had on me, savoring every bit of it. I could feel her lean even closer, dangerously close that my body shivered against her movement. I opened my eyes to stare at her and our faces were only a few inches

LeslieThe cold morning breeze hit my face in a velvety, smooth touch, and my lips curled up in a soft, mild smile, which contrasted with how my first night at Alex’s place went. I had cried myself to sleep and though Ethan’s call had been a salve to my wounded heart, it still didn’t change the fact that I cried. I tucked strands of hair that danced with the breeze behind my ears but they kept flying to my face. “Isn’t that enough air for the day?” Ethan’s voice drew me out of my solitude. “Right,” I said, a little sad as I winded the glass back up. “No. I didn’t mean it that way,” he said, squeezing my thigh a little bit and I shot him an uncomfortable smile. “Okay,” I answered dryly, moving my thigh away from his touch and he chuckled. “You’re still trying to be faithful to him?” “I have no reason not to be,” he clenched his jaw and tightened his grip around the steering wheel before straining his lips in a thin line—what was supposed to be a smile. “Were you forced into th

LeslieAs I walked in, I could feel his eyes settle on me, heavy but I spared him no glance. I could tell the position he was in without looking at him—he had his back rested against the wall with his arms folded across his chest. He said no words to me and neither did I. I could feel my inside almost turning out. I walked past him but I could feel him cover up the distance between us as I tried to walk up the stairs with heavy strides. He grabbed me by my wrist, pulling me roughly against his chest and causing my hair to sway in the hair, roughly landing on my face. My chest pressed against his chest and with a grimace, I looked up at his face. His hand wrapped around my waist, firmly as though he was going to do anything but free me from his hold. Our eyes locked in a glare with none of us ready to stare down. His gaze on me was hard, dark, dangerous but readable. I could tell he was mad, so livid it was almost written on his forehead but I had no idea why he was mad. I was t

AlexI could feel the blood rush up to my eyes, almost budging out. The betrayed look in her eyes cast a shade of shame over me. I was furious at first. Seeing her smile with Ethan and letting him do as much as touch her. I was going crazy because she was mine, she was my woman. I was planning on telling her how cheap she was and how everyone could afford her. I was planning to say hurtful things to her but she caught my wings, making me helpless. Seeing her in tears broke my heart, her accusations were valid. I was an asshole and I had disrespected her. I was going to show her the picture of her and Ethan laughing away during breakfast— breakfast that was supposed to be with me, but when she showed me the picture of Mayla and me, my heart throbbed a billion times like a kid caught stealing candies. I watched her walk away from me. Just like I let everyone do. Just like I do some stupid stuff and let people walk away from me. I wanted to hold her back and go down on my knees to

Alex The knock sounded over and over again and I could feel my dick deflate like a balloon inside her. I frowned, and let out a rasped breath before pulling out of her. Her back was still arched against the sink and her ass was still popped out. The sight alone made me want to open the door and hit the intruder. The knock sounded again. “Who the fuck is that?” I asked in between gritted teeth before pulling my pants up and helping her with her panties as well. I kissed her on the lips, adjusting her dress for her before walking towards the door. “Who could it be?” she asked, disappointment evident on her face. “We’re about to find out!” I opened the door and saw Naynay, beaming with a smile. “Nay nay,” I called rather as a question. “There’s a young man downstairs who’s here for you,” I looked over at Leslie, who had a questioning look on her face, and spontaneously, my hand searched hers, holding her firmly. “Who?” She looked like she’d rather bite her tong

Leslie The clanking sound of cutleries filled my ears, causing my legs to curl in my shoes. “What do you do…?” One of the ladies asked, staring at Alex for obviously my name even though he had mentioned it earlier. So, I summoned the courage to speak instead. I sat up in my seat, dropping the cutleries that seemed to be burning my hands by now. “I apologize for Alex’s bad manners. He should have done a proper introduction,” I looked over at him with a mild smile. Alex’s mum looked up from her plate and her eyes settled on Alex and me with curiosity. “There are more introductions to be done?” his mum asked. Alex was going to speak but I placed my hand gently on his hands to stop him. I was ready to take control of this situation. “I mean, aside from the fact that I am his fiancee, I still do not know who these two lovely ladies are,” I could suddenly feel Alex’s eyes bore a hole in the side of my face. The tension seemed to have risen to a hundred percent and at that

LeslieI thought he was bluffing. I had mastered the act of slowly neglecting his words and acting like they meant nothing but this time, he meant every word he said, and now, we were on our way to his family. The flight took five hours before we finally arrived in LA where his family resides. I knew he was wealthy; I mean, everything about him screams that, but nothing in this world prepared me for the estate we had just driven into. It felt like a separate world entirely from what I was used to.At first, I had grown this in-depth boldness within me when he mentioned going to his family— I mean, I didn't believe he was going to do that but some part of me had that courage in case he was going to and now that it indeed happened, I could feel my inside churning out of anxiety. The drive within the estate was like a new journey on its own and we drove past several buildings that are annexed to the main building. Then, out of nowhere, I felt his hand over mine. I withdrew my face

Alex I wished she could just listen to me. I wished my words were not just so meaningless to her. We could have been the best couples during these two months. We could have made couples out there jealous. I could have even pretended that I loved her or that I was falling in love with her. I could have given her the world. I could have helped her beyond her imagination but she chose to defile me. She chose to go against my words. Two days. It had been two days since I last saw her, since I last spoke to her. I hated the fact that I had startled her like that. Her question just triggered something within me. I adjusted my tie and stared blankly at my laptop when my phone buzzed, pulling me out of my reverie. I darted my eyes over to the screen to check the caller and I sighed, resting my head in my palm. “Hey, May,” I said dryly and I could feel her smile. “You have been so distant, Alex. What’s going on?” “What do you mean distant? We stay in the same city,” “You k

Leslie I turned and twirled in bed, stretching and yawning under the duvet after a great night's sleep. I winced at the sweet pain I felt in literally every part of my body but it was all a pain that reminded me of the pleasure and satisfaction my body got the night before. That was one of the best and most fun sex I had ever had. He made me feel like a woman, he handled my body rightly and made me yearn for more. The way his kisses plastered on my skin and his touch, sent electric chills throughout my body. Oh, the flashback. I turned to the side of the bed but it was empty. A frown immediately formed on my face as I hurriedly sat up in bed. “He left me again? He left again??!!” I could feel the pile of anger swell up within me and I immediately yanked the duvet off my body. I was naked so I grabbed his shirt from last night that was on the ground, draping it on my body. I walked out of the room without minding how rough I looked and how messy my bum was. I strolled

LeslieHe wrapped his lips around mine. He pulled me so close to his chest as though I was his second skin. I wanted to push him away—I really wanted to. I wanted to hit him across the face and tell him how stupid he was for thinking he could win me over with just a kiss. But I did none of those, I embraced it. I took in the kiss like I had been waiting all my life for it. Like I couldn't wait to be devoured. I wrapped my arms around his neck, moaning against his lips as he slid his tongue into my mouth. I tilted my head to get the best angle of his lips, sucking on his lower lips and scrubbing his head. His hands moved lower to my butt, squeezing my butt cheeks and I moaned against my lips. “They feel so jelly-like,” he commented as he slipped his hand in through the slits on the sides. The feeling of his hands on my bare skin caused me to shiver a little bit, sending a wave of electric chills down my spine. The thought of him taking Mayla this way slipped through my mind and

AlexMy hands trembled against the glass cup, out of anger and I could almost feel its content spilling. “Are you okay?” Mayla asked, leaning ridiculously in. I gave no response as I locked eyes with Leslie who was standing next to Ethan. Her eyes darted to Mayla and something in her eyes looked hurt, betrayed just like they were this morning. I wanted to look away but I couldn’t, not when Ethan saw I was staring and still dared to wrap his hand around her waist. Then, they walked towards where we were sitting, hands on her waist. Something inside me throbbed but I had no idea what it was. My heartbeat raced faster and I could feel the blood in my veins rush up to my hand, balling up into a fist. “Look who we have here. Hey, Alex,” he said with a wild smile but that only made me clench my jaw. He pulled the chair out for her and she sat without hesitating while her eyes locked with mine. I could feel Mayla’s eyes almost boring holes into her skin. She wouldn’t look away even

While a hairstylist worked on my hair, so did the makeup artist, the nail artist, and the designer figuring out the best dress to suit my makeup and hair. It was quite overwhelming but I guess it was a thing I needed to face, being in his world. While my hair was being pulled, so were my cuticles trimmed. I winced a bit while she filed my nail bed but then, the hairstylist pulled a strand of my hair. “Can you take it easy, please?” I said with a smile. “Sorry, ma’am,” they all said in unison and it made me wonder if there was a professional guide available to them all. After I was done with my nails, hair, and makeup, I stared at my reflection in the mirror and gasped at who I was seeing. I looked so beautiful that I could barely recognize myself. I guess that
