LISTOWEL’S POV

“As a child, I thought it was cool that you kept doing things to cover up for me. But it was only recently that I discovered you covered any mess I found myself in just because of reputation.

A mere reputation. You did everything for me only to keep your name highly in front of others.

Even on days when I was falsely accused, you never listened to my side of the story. You only assumed I was guilty and went ahead to use your connections to cover it up.

Tears crinkled at the corner of my eyes, threatening to fall. Memories of the unjust situations I had to endure in my high school days sunk in, and if not for the fact I didn't want her to perceive me as weak, I would have broken down crying.

I sniffled and slightly raised my eyes to stop the tears from rolling down my cheeks. Staring dead into her eyes, “But you know what? Those days are over and I’m glad to say it doesn't hurt anymore.

And do you know what that means? Probably no. So let me explain.

MELISSA’S POV I was at lunch break, eating a roll of shawarma when I heard the canteen suddenly go silent. Curious, I lifted up my gaze and glanced around to see what could have probably caused such a deafening silence. My heart almost skipped a beat when suddenly all eyes in the room turned towards my direction. “What is it? What could I have possibly done to have secured this amount of curious stares.” I whispered to myself as swallowed hard the bite of the food I already had in my mouth down to my stomach. I quickly grasped the orange juice on the table to sip, while hoping against hope that this numerous stares were not meant for me. And probably for someone sitting behind me. As the stares persisted, I finally accepted that they were all looking at me and was probably waiting for my reaction. Finally summoning courage, I turned to have a look at what was possibly going on with me to have garnered so much attention and my heart nearly jumped out of my throat

  • Mr. CEO’s Insatiable Addiction To His Feisty Ex-Wife    Chapter 136

GIOVANNI’S POV It was a few minutes after the lunch break, I had just arrived in my office after going out to eat myself when I heard Leticia; my personal secretary, and another staff laughing and giggling about something. At first, their faces looked serious as they murmured something to themselves. Their actions were pissing me off so I had to stand up from my chair to go tell them off when I overheard Melissa’s name. I immediately confronted them so they had no choice but to narrate to me what had happened at the cafeteria earlier. Per what they told me it seemed Madam Gordon was here for trouble so I had to intervene. I'm aware Melissa was somehow involved with his grandson, Listowel Gordon in the past, so I wasn't much surprised to have heard she's here. Using the stairs, I made my way towards Melissa’s office. There was a deafening silence in the alley that led to Melissa’s office which I found suspicious. Just when I was about to knock on the door and enter, a shrill

MELISSA’S POV Madam Gordon lingered around, throwing unnecessary tantrums till the security caught up to her. They gripped her with a single scoop and threw her out of the office. Even though she had rained insults on me and had garnered the attention of my co-workers, I was currently relieved that she was gone. Giovanni was currently in my office, fetching for me a glass of cold water. “Here, take it. It will help calm your nerves,” he said as he offered the water to me. “Thank you,” I whispered, taking the glass of water and downing it in one gulp. I placed the empty cup on the table, my eyes still lowered as I refused to look up. I was too ashamed to even look at my boss in the eyes. Madam Gordon had spilled it all. She had explained to everyone here how I got to know Listowel and the worst part was how she had twisted the story to make me look like the bad person. My heart ached with each beat as I struggled to wipe off the memory of how my colleagues were starin

I could see on the faces of our clients their increased trust in us. This really showed how brilliant Mr. Giovanni is and it made me want to learn more from him. The courtroom was quiet and tense as soon as the jury settled on their seats. We were all waiting for him to signal us to commence. Ever since I was called to the bar, today was my first day of being in an international court. What made me more excited was the fact that I was part of the debate and not just an observer. The judge finally called the plaintiff to put their point across, Giovanni stood up and started briefing the jury about the issue at hand. He skillfully presented our argument with detailed evidence and precision. Occasionally, I

  • Mr. CEO’s Insatiable Addiction To His Feisty Ex-Wife    Chapter 137

LISTOWEL’S POV Melissa has been ignoring me for days now. I’ve been trying to reach out to her ever since I heard my grandma had gone to visit her at work. But I guess I was too late since she had gone on a business trip out of the country and had also refused to answer my calls nor any of my texts. Kevin informed me that she had returned this morning. That’s why I hurried to her apartment as early as I could get here. When I found out about what my grandma had done, I was mad, extremely disappointed. Not only at her but also at Melissa. She didn’t have to play it cool like how she’s doing. She should have come to me, shout at, threw things at me, blame me for not dealing with grandma once and for all. But instead, she ghosted me, shutter me out completely. But no, I wasn’t going to let her ghost me out forever. Not after everything. I was going to fight and save what we have. The love we share. I sometimes see it all in her eyes; the love, longing, desire. And as long

LISTOWEL’S POV Was it my ears or did I just hear the girl on the phone refer to Melissa as mummy? My mouth flew open under the helmet, as I tried to process what I had just heard. Mummy? All this while Melissa had a child? And I didn’t know about it? But wait…. With who? I’ve had Kevin and the others look after Melissa for a long time. If they had seen anything as such; I’m sure they would have informed me. Besides, ever since Melissa moved back to Aphrodite, no man or even anyone has visited her here before so… “No, it can’t be,” I muttered inwardly as I gripped the door handle before she could slam the door shut. She resisted, attempting to pull it away from my hold but my grip was obviously tighter and stronger than hers. Rolling her eyes at me, “What are you doing?” She snapped, still trying to yank the door away from me. “What the hell are you doing? Let go of it before I call the police!” she threatened, her eyes burning with fury. She started pushing the doo

MELISSA'S POV I was pouring the coffee into the mugs when I heard his footsteps from upstairs. I turned, just in time to see him heading to the kitchen, his hair slightly messy from sleep. He smiled when he saw me, and my breath caught in my throat at how handsome he looked. My cheeks flashed pink as I recalled the steamy night we had shared the previous night. His touches were too sweet to resist, especially since I had craved them for so long. He had been away for almost a week on a business trip, and while he was away, we couldn't communicate much. Although that's quite unusual, I would guess he was only busy with work. I had received great news in his absence and I was more than excited to break it to him but his phone was mostly out of reach, so I had to keep it to myself and wait for him to return. He came back last night and I've been finding it hard to keep it to myself. My heart swelled with pride and joy as I envisioned his reaction. I will break it to him at b

  • Mr. CEO’s Insatiable Addiction To His Feisty Ex-Wife    Chapter 2

MELISSA'S POV I gasp for air, reaching for the glass of water in front of me, but my fingers fumble and knock it over. Before I can fully process what's happening, Listowel is on his feet, moving with that effortless grace of his, pouring another glass and handing it to me. "Here, take a sip," he said and tried helping me with it. I snatched the glass from his hands and without thinking twice, gulped the whole water down. Why is he acting caring when he just shattered my heart? Isn't he the reason I was in this state? He watches as I drink, the expression on his face unreadable. The water soothes the burning in my throat, but it does nothing to ease the sudden tightness in my chest. Finally, able to calm myself, I looked up at him and asked with a shaky voice. "What... what did you mean by that, Listowel? About it being time to get divorced?" My knees wobbled underneath the table, but I held them back to maintain composure, waiting for an answer that made sense. He loo

Is it wrong that she comes to see her future mother-in-law?” “Of course it is wrong. I have nothing to do with her anymore so it will be good for all of us if you don't entertain her anymore,” I emphasized. “Oh give me a break! And why have you been embarrassing her like that lately?” Embarrassing her you say? I don’t even remember the last I saw her. Well, after tonight, I hope you'll stop pushing her to me. Grandma’s eyes narrowed as she asked, “What do you mean by that?” Pulling my phone from my pocket, I scrolled through my gallery to look for the photos of Wendy and Clinton that Kevin had sent to me earlier. “I mean, after looking at these, I'm not sure you'll view her the same, “ I said, slipping the phone on the table. The photos, displayed on the phone were She hurriedly grabbed it to look at what it was. As soon as she glanced through, her eyes f

LISTOWEL’S POV I was closing early today from work because of the call I received yesterday. She had called while I was in the car with Melissa and requested that I come to the family mansion tonight. “Kevin,” I called out. He was sitting on a chair in the corner of the room, reading through an ancient literature. He put the book aside and stood up on his feet and responded. “Yes sir” Throwing on my coat, I hurled my car keys which he caught in an impressive swift turn. I glanced again at him for a while and the hint of tension in his eyes ever since his recent behavior didn't go unnoticed by me. To be honest, I couldn't even bring myself to be angry at him. He's human and has feelings too so I find it quite understandable. Besides, his secret meeting with Wendy had yielded good results after all. “We will pass by Grandma’s place before I go home tonight,” I announced while fixing up the button on my sleeves. “Okay, sir. I will go get the car ready then,” he said
