Chapter 67 The Fifth Wheel

(Alex’s POV)

I woke up extremely hungover.

There was a bitter taste in my mouth, but I couldn’t tell if it was just from the hangover, or from the guilt that I felt after telling Willa all that I knew about the reasons behind Sybil and John’s marriage.

I felt horrible about letting Willa know such harmful information, even though I knew that she clearly didn’t see it that way. All she wanted was for John to break up with Sybil and return to her, no matter how many lives had to be destroyed in order for her to achieve her goal.

After our conversation last night, I was actually relieved when she had decided to leave. Okay, maybe that had been my fault. It was probably wrong of me to make a show out of ordering a drink in front of her, knowing that she had had to stop drinking during her pregnancy, but that got rid of her, didn’t it?
