Nina's POV:

The cab arrived at Joseph's house, and I carefully alighted, paid for my ride, and made my way to Joseph's house.

It was a peaceful estate. I looked at my golden wristwatch and saw that it was almost 8 AM. I assumed maybe Joseph had gone to his office, so I marched over to his gate and knocked.

A security man unlocked the gate and came out of the house to meet me.

"Good morning, Madam. Who are you looking for?" he asked, and I met his gaze.

"Musa, did you all of a sudden forget who I am? Open the gate now. Has Joseph left the house?"

"Oh, Madam. I am sorry I didn't recognize you. Come in," Musa said, and he unlocked the gate for me to enter.

As I entered Joseph's residence, my eyes traveled to the driveway where my car and about three of his cars were parked.

I assumed Joseph was still inside, and Musa confirmed to me that Joseph had not left the house yet.

"The boss is inside," he told me with a smile. I smiled and replied, "Alright, I will soon be leaving as I came to pi

Joseph's POV:I arrived at my company, drove my car into the parking lot, and parked it.At the same time, Simon was just arriving at the company too, and he parked his car.I was looking at his car, hoping to see Amaka alight from it, but I didn't see her."Good morning, sir," Simon greeted me with a smile. He wore a black suit and a white shirt underneath, paired with a black pair of shoes. His fair skin glistened as he flashed me his perfect set of white teeth, not knowing the turmoil I was going through."Morning. Wait, Simon," I called him back as I walked up to meet him."Is there anything you want me to assist you with, sir?" he asked, and I looked at his car again, hoping to see Amaka get out of the car, but I didn't see her.Unable to hold my curiosity, I asked him, "What about Amaka? I thought she came to the company every day with you since she started this week with us?"Simon's eyes widened in surprise as he hadn't expected me to ask him about Amaka."Yes, sir. She actual

Amaka's point of view;I arrived at my son's school and took him to his class. As we entered the school building, the headmistress, a middle-aged woman, greeted me with a warm smile on her face, "Welcome, Ma'am. You came today with your boy other than his grandmother?" She asked me."Yes. I am not going to work today, so I brought Jason by myself. Please, ma'am, I don't want anyone to come here and take my son away. That's why I came here by myself. No one except me or his grandmother should pick him up."The headmistress looked at me in surprise as she wore a black suit and shoes. "You have nothing to worry about, ma'am. Your child is in safe hands," she assured me and gestured for Jason to go on to the assembly."I have to go now, bye, Jason," I waved at my son, and he smiled and waved back at me.I saw some teachers looking at us with a smile. Taking a quick glance at them, I didn't see Joseph's sister among them, so I was a little relieved, even though I knew that she had guessed

Joseph's POV:"Haven't you said anything, Joseph?" Ethan asked me as he kept standing across from me beside my office desk."What do you want me to say to you - that I don't love Amaka anymore?" I asked him as I met his gaze."I'm not asking you to say that to me. I just want you to clarify that you're not getting back with her just because she has a son for you," Ethan deadpanned, and I smiled."Well, I don't know yet," I replied."What do you mean you don't know yet, Joseph? Do you plan on getting back with her? What happened to Nina?" Ethan raised his voice at me as he glared at me too. "When has it come to this that we have to fight over a woman?" I asked him, and he breathed out in relief."I'm not fighting you over her. But truth be told, you haven't been with her for long. I just happen to like that woman, and not because she has a child out of wedlock with you, would stop me from winning her heart," Ethan said hopefully, and I saw his eyes shine with admiration and assurance t

Anita asked, and I looked at her face."No, you can leave my office," I replied. She smiled and left.I opened the meal and resumed eating, conscious of the time.My phone rang, and I saw that Danna was calling me."Hello, big bro," she said once I answered."What's up?" I asked, and she grinned."Nothing. I just called to see if you're coming over. Mom asked if her grandson went to school today."I rolled my eyes at my sister's words."Her grandson? Why are you and Mom so obsessed with the boy when I don't even know if he's my child?" I protested."He is your child. Anyway, are you coming over? We close at 3:30 p.m., and most parents get here before 4 p.m. So you should be on time," Danna said, clearly wanting me to see

Joseph's POV:"Over here, big brother!" Danna waved to me, and I saw her standing beside the school building, raising her right hand for me to see her.Several children were going home, and some were getting on the school bus that would take them home. I walked over to meet my younger sister."Wow! I guess coming here at closing time wasn't a good idea," I told her, and she grinned."Maybe. Come, let's go meet him. I told his teacher that my brother is Jason's father.""What? Danna, why would you say that to your fellow teacher?" I asked her as I quickly followed her.She wore a green school vest and a black skirt paired with black shoes. She paused and looked at me."I didn't have a choice. His mother will arrive soon, and that was the best way to get the little boy's teacher to delay him. Besides, she's my friend. Otherwise, no one is allowed to see the children except their parents or guardians."Danna quickly led me to the classroom, and I noticed some other young female teachers

Stepping into the living room, I turned off the light as I was leaving."How are you doing, Amaka? Have you gone to pick up my little husband from school?" Maureen asked, to which I replied, "No, I'm on my way. Do you want to go and pick him up?""No, I just miss you guys. I'm still in my shop because I went there today to adjust my wedding dress. It's too tight, and I had to loosen it a bit.""Alright. I'll stop by your shop since you're there. How about my bridesmaid gown? Have you sewn it yet?" I asked her."Yeah, I have.

Taking a closer look at the driver, I was stunned to see that it was Ethan. My anger rose, but I quickly composed myself as Amaka approached me."Hi," I said to her, and her eyes nearly popped out of their sockets as she looked shocked to see me."What are you doing here?" Amaka asked, glaring at me."Hmm." I frowned, realizing that she was blushing when she approached me and didn't even notice that I was the one standing there.Maybe she mistook me for one of the male teachers since I had taken off my coat and draped it over my right arm."I came here to see my son," I made it clear to her, and she burst out laughing, covering her mouth and asking, "Which son? The last time I checked, you're only engaged to Nina Stanley, and she doesn't have a child for you yet."I glared at her and replied coolly, "You have my son, and don't act like he isn't mine. Maureen said as she came into her shop to meet me.I sighed and went to her fridge to grab a cold bottle of water for myself as I was feeling hot."Well, I am. I am serious. He is Joseph's friend. And guess what happened today?" I asked Maureen, who still looked stunned and unhappy to hear that the new man was Joseph's friend."What happened? You know that I'm not a good guesser. Go on and tell me all that happened. You mean that handsome man is friends with Joseph?"Maureen looked irritated, and I smiled and told her to calm down."Relax, Maureen. Besides, I haven't accepted him yet. But he said that he doesn't care if I have a child, and he also knows that my child belongs to Joseph.""What??" Maureen gasped again as she watched me open the bottle and drink from the chilled water in my hand. Jason came up to meet me, requesting to drink from my water too."Wait, Jason. This is too cold. You are welcome," Aunt Ann was friendly with Ethan, but I didn't say anything as I ushered my son to have his seat.Jason was looking at Ethan, but he was silent. The dining table fell into silence while I served around the vegetable soup and semovita that I had prepared."Do you eat this kind of food?" I asked Ethan as I reached his chair and served the small plate of soup garnished with meat and dried fish, then I served his semovita too."Why not? Joseph's POVParking my car in the garage, I came out and went into the house, and Lady Tope Hilary came out of the house, surprised, and asked me, "Sir, didn't you go to work today?"I looked at her, seeing that she was dressed up, and I wondered where she was going too. Most times, I went to work and did not return until the evening when I had closed from work."I went to the office, but I am back. Where are you off to?" I asked her, and she smiled, replying, "I am going for grocery shopping and to also see my son at school.""Alright, be back on time," I told Lady Tope and moved ahead into the house. Going inside, I went to have my bath and to chill out, thinking about how to win Amaka's heart back.Amaka was wrong, and I didn't only consider apologizing to her now because of my father's threat. No, I am far more than that; only it wouldn't be nice if the rumors got to public knowledge that I lost my father's support. Many people in this area and this city as a whole respected my f

Joseph's POVI couldn't believe that Amaka's aunt would threaten to call the police on me. She told me that Amaka was sent away by her parents because I got her pregnant and refused to take responsibility for it."What am I going to do now?" I asked myself as I drove ahead to my company. My head was messed up, and with my father's threat, I knew that I had to come up with something to make Amaka forgive me, but who do I speak to that could help me talk to her on my behalf?Well, even if it was not that my parents had insisted that I try to make up with Amaka and bring my son back home to them, I knew that I was affected by seeing Amaka again. I truly did miss her, but I was not brave enough to say it to her face.I made a turn and drove ahead to Ethan's office. I needed to see him as he was the only person that I hoped would help me win Amaka back, irrespective of the fact that he was also chasing after her.I arrived at Ethan's company, E. and G. Global. It was a big establishment, s

I will be leaving now for work. Take care," Ethan said before he moved back to his car and got in. I watched him start his car engine and drive off. Sighing, I went back into the house, thinking about how I should handle Joseph's situation.I went to have my bath, and after coming out, I dressed in a black shirt and a white top. I combed my long blonde hair while standing in front of the mirror, then I applied a little touch of makeup on my face.I could recall Joseph's words to Aunt Ann: "I want to marry Amaka now.""Hahaha!" I laughed out loud while looking at my reflection in the mirror."What makes Joseph think that I would want to marry him?" I asked myself, smiling at my reflection as I finished fixing my hair. I grabbed my trusty black handbag, slipped my phone into the zip,

**Amaka's POV**The next morning, I woke up in bed and prepared Jason for school. It was Tuesday, and the weather seemed like it was going to rain. As we were nearing the end of October, I made a mental note to get a school cardigan for my son. After dressing Jason for school, I assisted him with preparing his breakfast before the school bus arrived."Goodbye, Mom," Jason waved happily at me as I watched him get on the bus. There were other kids on the bus, and I waved goodbye once he was seated in the middle and had fastened his seatbelt. The bus drove off.I smiled and went back into the house, preparing for my visit to a new house."Amaka, wow. So you finally registered Jason for the school bus," Lazy Ann said as she came into my room. She was set to leave the house for her shop. She wore a blue tailored dress and black slippers, and I replied, "Yes, ma, to relieve me of stress.""That's good. I'm already heading to my shop. Are you leaving the house today?" she asked, standing by

Amaka's POV.After a few more minutes sitting in the living room of Ethan's home, I stood up and asked the butler, "Mr. Evan, is there a library in here?""Yes, Madam, but it's upstairs beside the master's study," he said."Oh. It's alright. I am fine," I replied, looking away from him and telling Jason to join me outside."Mr. Evan, please tell Ethan that we will be outside waiting for him once he is done," I instructed Mr. Evan, who was standing beside the dining table. The dining table had silver chairs, and it was a beautiful setting. The older man replied, "Okay, Ma'am."Jason and I walked out of the house, and he asked me, "Mom, are we going home now?""Yes, once Ethan is done with what he went upstairs to do," I told him, and he smiled. "Alright."I pulled out my phone and snapped a cool evening photo of myself and Jason against the beautiful backdrop of Ethan's home. His house is so beautiful. As I gazed at the lovely evening photos, Ethan came out of the house and asked me, "

He said, "It's a pleasure. I just wanted you to know where I live so that you can come over to see me whenever you feel like it.""Awn. Thank you. But I am not your woman, so I cannot be free to come here any way I please," I told him, and he smiled."Would you like to request anything? Like juice or a malt drink?" he asked as I looked around the white living room again. He had a very large flat-screen television, lovely chandeliers hanging brightly above, and high curtains that I couldn't see the end of, adding to the beauty of his living room. The walls featured paintings of him and lovely flower vases around. It was a beautiful living room with inviting off-white couches."No, I am fine. Jason and I are good," I told him, not wanting to accept a drink from him. An elderly man in a white shirt and blac

Maybe because he is not as handsome as you," I told my son, and he frowned."But he is my Daddy," he innocently replied, to which I said, "I know, but not mine. You saw my Daddy, didn't you?""Yes, we saw your daddy. When are we going to see mine?" Jason asked, and I told him, "Later. Tell me, what did your class teacher teach you today? Did she give you any assignments at all?"I tried to shift the topic, and Jason replied, "Yes. She gave me homework. But I haven't done it. It's two-letter words, so I know that simple homework."I smiled, knowing that Jason had watched a lot of educational kids' channels before he started preschool. He was highly intelligent, but I wondered where he got that intelligence from because Joseph was only obsessed with sex. As for me, I wasn't so sure about my own intelligence. I escorted my son into the apartment we share
