Chapter 31

Ethan's POV

“You're so pathetic." I walked away from her after picking up my clothes and other things.

I had really thought she was going to leave me alone when she saw me swimming. She isn't as reserved as I thought she was then.

I walked away without looking back, I was angry that she didn't leave when I said she should. No one disrespects me, no one at all.

I got dressed up for work in no time, driving out of the house and towards the mansion since I was kind of late already.

I just needed to swim; it's the only thing I do that takes my mind off things for the meantime. When I swim, I'm just in my own world, and it looks like every other thing isn't existing again.

On getting to work, I saw Lucas pacing the hallway; he had been calling me since I left the house but I didn't pick his call.

The moment he saw me, he ran towards me with urgency.

“Where have you been? I've called you several times, but you didn't pick the call, talk less of even returning it. Why are you even this late
