Dahlia's POV
I looked at myself in the mirror. I was currently wearing a black silk shirt, exuding sophistication, sexiness, and mystery. Sighing, I was finally seduced by Esther. A few minutes ago, because she wanted me to be in a better mood, she invited me to the bar.
“You go alone. I'm not going anywhere.” I want to stay at home and heal my emotions.
“Do you know what the theme of this bar is?” Esther makes a killer move.
"What topic?"
“Ancient Greek mythology!”
I suddenly fell silent. When it comes to Ancient Greek mythology, many people probably think it is pure and beautiful. But actually it has a lot of dark sides. For art students like me, that mysterious dark side of art attracts me.
I lengthened the corners of my eyes, completing my makeup. I shed the gentle gentleness of the past, replacing it with a bold charm. I grabbed my waist-length jacket and went downstairs to Esther's car.
As soon as Esther saw me, her eyes lit up: “You surprised me. Tell me, if Mr. Evans saw you wearing makeup like this, how would he feel?”
I looked out the window, what kind of mood would he be in?
On the other hand, he would frown, blame me for two hours straight, and then not care how much I cried or despaired.
“He can't control me.” I touched my earring: "Let's go quickly."
The car quickly arrived at the bar. As soon as I got out of the car, the phone rang non-stop. Realizing it was an unknown number, I decided to turn it off. This is my new mobile number, not many people know it. So the person calling at this hour can only be someone I don't want to remember. I threw my phone in the car, not paying attention to it anymore.
But I didn't expect to meet Baron Ermintrude here. I discovered him because from the moment I walked in, he fixed his eyes on my legs. His eyes had no good intentions, as if he could smell his prey. He walked closer to me with a glass of wine. When he clearly saw my exquisitely made-up face, he turned from surprise to contempt.
"Why are you here?"
I touched my nose, looking disgusted at the scent mixed with perfume and alcohol on his body, the smell was like the rot starting from his bones. This move of mine successfully angered him.
“Who do you hate?”
I was too lazy to react to Baron, turned around and left, still hearing his cursing behind me.
“What time will the performance start?” I turned to ask Esther.
"Eleven o'clock."
I tried to not close my eyes. When the clock struck eleven, I quickly regained my composure. But before my eyes, it was not an Ancient Egypt performance, instead it was a male striptease performance. I gasped, wanting to immediately turn around and strangle Esther.
Esther turned to me and said sorry, but her eyes couldn't leave the male model on stage. I reassured myself by thinking that I came here today to open my eyes.
Just a few minutes into the show, the male models pulled a few people up to dance with them. The party was extremely bustling. The next second, the music suddenly stopped. People wearing police uniforms entered.
“Everyone must not move!”
I swear I have never been so unlucky in my life. But the story doesn't stop there. The police asked for ID cards. Esther quickly handed it out, and I started touching my wallet, only then realizing I had put it in my phone case. Phone thrown in the car.
Baron, a regular at the bar, was quickly released. When he passed me, he didn't have any good intentions and laughed: "Dahlia, do you feel embarrassed? If Mr. Evans saw you like this, what would his reaction be?"
I gently replied: "Compared to regular customers like you, I'm still very ordinary."
Baron thinks he can make fun of me. Who would have thought that I would not respect him at all, leaving him speechless. He arbitrarily plastered his face with gold, trampled on other people's beauty, and considered himself a noble person. We're playing in the same bar, why is it my turn to turn into a criminal?
I sat in the police station, along with minors who were also arrested from the bar. The police poured each person a glass of warm water, then strongly advised them to study hard and not just think about going out. The police's eyes glanced at me several times.
I wonder from what angle do I look so young?
I wholeheartedly waited for Esther to lead someone to rescue me. Waiting for more than an hour, I couldn't see Esther. On the contrary, I was waiting for an uninvited guest to arrive.
Gideon Evans!
“Dahlia Green!” The police outside called my name: “Get out. The guardian has arrived.”
When I heard those words, I almost fell to the ground. My father is currently very far away. So who is my guardian?
As soon as I stepped out of the break room, I immediately faced Gideon's hot eyes. This is the first time he and I have met in a year. In this moment, I suddenly had the same feeling that my heart was beating fast like the first time I met him, an indescribable feeling that has never stopped.
I swallowed my saliva, I didn't think the two of us would meet each other at the police station. Gideon was the one who came to help me out. Life is truly a joke.
Last month, I proposed to break up over the phone, but the person who picked up was Gideon's secretary, Xenia. Since I decided to break up until now, I have not had a chance to meet and sit down to talk clearly with him about this issue.
Gideon walked towards me, perhaps out of habit, every time he returned from a business trip, he would hug me first. The moment he reached out his hand, I expressionlessly avoided it, making the situation awkward. Not wanting to stay here, I naturally walked around Gideon, not wanting to face him.
However, I could feel Gideon's burning eyes behind me. Seconds later, his footsteps followed me. As soon as I stepped outside the station door, the cold wind made me chill, and I couldn't help but hug myself.
A large, thick coat suddenly fell on my shoulders. Gideon hugged my shoulders into his chest.
"Get in the car."
I was half hugged and half dragged into the car, halfway there was no way to resist.
"Drive."
Gideon ordered the driver. The atmosphere in the car was extremely quiet, I didn't speak so he didn't open his mouth either. After driving for a while, Gideon could sense that I was in an uncomfortable mood so he asked first:
“Did you have fun?”
I didn't expect this to be the first sentence Gideon said to me since he returned home once a year. I smiled slightly, feeling that this was not strange. He never asked me why I went to the police station, nor did he ask me why I went to the bar.
I replied solemnly:
"Unhappy."
Gideon's POVAt the Evans mansion,I returned home again after not finding Dahlia at her mother's house. Going upstairs, I wanted to change into the suit I'd been wearing all day, pulling my tie aside. The white shirt collar opens arbitrarily, the first two buttons are no longer buttoned. For four seasons a year, I dress like this. Dahlia created this habit for me. She told me to look neat and presentable. But gradually, these outfits make people feel unapproachable, serious and scared.I don't care about that, nor do I care about the words of Dahlia's best friend that I accidentally heard:"Gideon Evans, this type of man has a few words written all over his face: determined not to love, let money drink, lives alone so girls want him."In short: "If he has money, he doesn't have feelings."But I'm not that kind of person. Obviously, my sudden opposition made him unhappy:“There will be no next time.”Having finished speaking, he closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair to rest, probably wanting to end this topic.Immediately I felt no longer interested. I also don't want to waste time arguing that going to bars is my freedom and has nothing to do with him.The two of us are like a picture. Everyone wants to put the brush to paper and draw. Dahlia's POVIn a blink of an eye, I saw Gideon's eyes flash with surprise but quickly regained his usual calmness. His voice remained steady:"Why ask like that?"I laugh. I'm asking myself the same thing. Why would I ask him such a stupid question? If Gideon had a little respect for me, Baron would not dare to hit me, Mrs. Evans would not treat me harshly, nor would Faye dare to openly come to Evans' house to enjoy all the privileges as if she were his official wife.It seems Gideon is starting to get a little frustrated:“What do you want to call respect?”I know Gideon doesn't like me like this. I am not the same as usual. Before, every time we met, I was always attached to him, not wanting to be separated from him for even a second. Dahlia's POVI've been with Mr. CEO Gideon Evans for over nine years, with what status I don't know anymore. Gideon has never revealed me to everyone. They told me I was just a sugar baby, a lucky gold digger that he noticed.I looked at the expensive watch that was bought with the money I saved from contest prizes from my work. This was what I wanted to use to propose to Gideon. But he was on business trips all year round, running a company abroad, so he didn't have the opportunity to receive it. And so will the future. Because I chose to leave him.I put the watch in the cabinet box and looked back at the room I lived in for nine years for the last time.Yesterday, Gideon's mother told me some shocking news.“Gideon will marry the young lady of the Ermintrude family. If you're smart, get out of here quickly. Don't make yourself the butt of our jokes.”I endured Gideon's mother's disdainful eyes. For nine years, no matter how hard I tried, I could not please this lady. Right now, I w
Dahlia’s POV“Dahlia, do you really consider yourself a princess? If it weren't for you weren't so thick-skinned at the Evans house, then Mr. Evans went home a long time ago.”I stiffened my whole body. In the past half a year, Gideon has never returned home. If they want to find out the reason, it's probably because of me that he don't want to go home.Baron was much taller than me, so the slap just now was extremely cruel, causing me so much pain that I was dizzy. Is it true that if Gideon had shown me some respect, Baron wouldn't have dared to do that to me today?I swallowed my tears and tried to say each word:“This slap… I will remember it well.”Baron frowned, his voice even more contemptuous:“Leaving the Evans house, you're nothing. Do you remember well? So what? If you have the courage, never come back here.”I clenched my fist, my nails digging deep into my skin, making me even more alert. I know clearly that not receiving Gideon's love means that once I leave here, I will
Gideon's POVLate at night, Glory Avenue is deserted,I closed my eyes and rested in the car after just finishing the negotiation with my partner. The long distance from the restaurant to the hotel made me even more tired, but Leo's voice did not stop.Leo Harris has been my valuable assistant since I recently took over the Evans family's somewhat declining company. At a time when everyone suspected my business would go bankrupt, only Leo devoted all his heart and soul to helping me build a fortune.Leo took the meeting report, compiled it all, and gave it to me to sign. When Leo was about to leave the front row and move to the back row, I spoke up to stop him:"Anything else?"Leo's breathing suddenly decreased, extremely gentle but intermittent. Perhaps the longer time goes by, the more I hone my bravery, and also improve my nature of oppressing others.Leo bowed his head slightly and pondered:“Everything went smoothly, nothing unexpected happened to the plan.”I frowned, calculati

Gideon's POVAt dusk, the Evans family's specialized plane also landed back home. I gently opened my eyes. Maybe only when I'm up here will I really have time to rest.During one year of my work, I hardly had any vacation time. I tried to shorten the company's three-year foreign market expansion plan to one year. The plan is progressing extremely well, with several large orders coming in consecutively.“Open a meeting, convene all departments of the corporation.”As soon as I stepped off the plane, I headed straight to the company. The achievements of the past year were implemented, successfully expanding foreign markets and doubling domestic production lines. The whole company was immersed in good news. The staff directly booked a luxury restaurant to celebrate, planning to not get drunk then not go home tonight. The discussion in the meeting seemed to have no end.As for me, I propped my head up, my thoughts had long since flown elsewhere. Looking at the watch on my hand, the time w

But when I saw who it was, I couldn't imagine it.The person who arrived was Gideon's powerful secretary, Leo Harris.Leo saw me looking at him and very politely announced: "Mr. Evans has returned."I didn't respond, but a wave was rolling in my heart. I don't think Gideon will immediately return at this time. I still clearly remember him saying it would probably take two to three months for him to finish his business trip.Currently, Gideon has only been gone for a month and a half. But so what? Gideon returns, so what?Leo saw me standing still without saying anything, so he gently took a step forward: "Mr. Evans has arrived home.Shouldn't you go back too?”I silently cried in my heart, finally understanding the meaning of Leo's coming here. You should not bother the young master with small matters, and interfere with his work.”I raised my eyebrows, did he mean I go to report these things to Gideon? I continued to be patient, took a deep breath and smiled:"What else? Please continue!”Butler Silas felt proud of being able to admonish me.“There's still a little bit left, you shouldn't be jealous. Miss Ermintrude is the daughter of the lady's friend, and the younger sister of the young master's best friend, so it was natural for her to move into the Evans house. You shouldn't be jealous.”I know my eyes are full of anger right now, but my mouth still holds a smile instead of being angry like before. I really want to ask, were the years I spent at the Evans house all in vain? I'm known as Gideon's fiancee, taking g
