18. Agreed

Inhaling another deep breath, I opened the door and stepped inside, closing the door slowly after me.

He was sitting behind the desk, in a white shirt, looking handsome as usual. His cold green gaze met mine, and his brow raised, "Yes?"

I licked my dry lips before bravely looking at him, "I've thought about your proposal, and I've decided..." I said.

He gave me a single nod, his gaze fixed on mine.

"I-I agree to this arrangement," I muttered.

He continued looking at me, as usual calm, yet cold with his expression. After a while, "I've told you before, you've no rush, or pressure. Are you sure about it? Because... Once it's done, there's no going back for a year." Just like him, he spoke so calmly, which somehow encouraged me to hold his gaze.

I felt more confident now standing right in front of him with my point of verdict, "In my opinion, marriage is not a trivial matter to begin with, even though it was bound in a contract... However, I'm willing to take the risk."
