CHAPTER NINE: BLOOD MEMORY

MORRIGAN'S POV

“What's wrong?” Zephyr asked, looking me up and down.

“Nothing.” I replied, running a hand through my hair.

He got off the chair and walked over to where I was standing. My heart began pounding, the closer he got the faster it pounded.

He stopped in front of me. “So you won't tell me?”

I could smell his breath as it hit my face. I could feel goosebumps forming on my skin. Heat spread all over my body and I just wanted to pull him closer, but I knew better.

I moved back, putting some distance between.

“How can I tell you something, when there is nothing to tell?”

He quirked a brow. “The fact that you're replying to me s…”

“Just stop.” I cut him off. I didn't want to keep being in the same room as him, I didn't want to do something I would end up regretting.

“Why do you do this to yourself? To us.” He asked, frustration evident In his voice.

“Zephyr, I told you from the beginning how I felt. I don't want to be here but you keep me here against my will.”

He grabbed my hand and pulled me closer to him.“I can smell you. You want me, so why do you resist it?”

“Stop it.” I whispered as he slowly ran his fingers through my hair. My breathing became shallow as he slowly moved his fingers to my neck.

“Just accept the bond and stay with me, sweetheart. I can make you feel so good.” He whispered right next to my ear and lightly nibbled on it.

I closed my eyes, my fingers curled into the fabric of his shirt and I pulled him closer.

“D..don't end up like me.” My mother's voice echoed in my head breaking the spell.

My eyes shot open and I pushed him away, mistakenly scratching him in the process. He hissed in pain.

His body began fading away. I found myself standing in a cozy looking room with white walls. The room was dimly lit.

“Zephyr.” An all too familiar voice said in a breathy way, making me turn around.

My eyes widened at the scene before me. Moans and groans filled up my ears, Zephyr was on top of Celeste. He was moving back and forth, his hands on her thighs.

“Fuck Celeste. Fucking sweetheart.” He groaned.

“More.” She moaned and he began moving faster.

I shut my eyes, willing myself to come out of his memories. I could feel my eyes welling up as I stared at his confused face.

I bit my lip trying to hold back the tears. “Why do you want to cry huh? You don't want this, you want and need to get away from this man. So why is this hurting you?” I thought balling my fist.

“Get out.”

He looked at me, his eyes darker than usual. “No.”

I glared at him and nodded my head. “If you won't go then I will.”

“Morrigan,” he called my name, sending a chill down my spine and not the good kind. “ I have been tolerating your bullshit and letting you do and say whatever you want to me but no more.”

“No more?” I let out a cold chuckle nodding my head and walked out of the room. I could hear his footsteps behind me.

Did he and Celeste plan this together? I mean they were or still are lovers, maybe they wanted to be together and her mate was in their way! So they sent people to kill him.

“Morrigan.” He called out coldly, it wasn't like the other times he had said my name. I ignored him and continued walking, just as I was about to reach the staircase he grabbed my hand and turned me to face him.

“ LET ME GO.” I emphasized each word.

“You are not going anywhere sweetheart.” He said tightening his hold on my hand.

“Don't fucking call me that, I am not Celeste,” I yelled.I was tired of pretending I was ok staying in this pack, tired of my mixed feelings for him, of Celeste coming at me, of the curse that was waiting for me in the corner to make one wrong move so it could pounce on me. I just wanted to let my wolf out and run far away from here, from him and all these thoughts.

“go back to her and call her that. Sleep with her, marry her and make her your Luna. I don't want to be here with you or be part of your pack. I just wanna leave from here. You and Celeste here make me sick. I hate you so much, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you.”

“What did you see that made you so angry?” He asked calmly, meanwhile I was panting and struggling to calm down.

W-wait what? Did he just ask me what I saw? Did he know about… no way, that was impossible, I didn't tell him or anyone about blood memory.

“What the fuck are you talking about huh?” I spat back.

“ I saw it, the glow in your eyes. You were looking at me but not seeing me.” He stared intensely at me.

The anger slowly began fading as the realization began to settle in. He could see it!

Who fucking cares i might as well tell him.

“You and your little girlfriend fucking.”

“What?” He questioned a frown etched on his face.

I let out a loud chuckle. “Blood memory,” I lifted my hands and wiggled my bloody nails in his face. “I can see your memories with just a little bit of your blood.”

He stared at me, his eyes boring into my soul. “Of all the things you could have seen. You just had to see me with Celeste.” He let go of my hand and ran his hands over his face.

My hand was red and sore from his grip. “Now would you please leave me alone and go to her. Just make her your luna and let me go. I really don't mind or care you guys can be together.”

“No matter how many times you ask, I will never let you go.” He said and walked away leaving me standing in the hallway, stunned, frustrated and upset.

I slowly walked back to the room and closed the door.

“What do I do now?” I mumbled sliding down the door, finally letting the tears fall.
