Jimmy had always had a soft spot for Arlan. he was slightly older than Arlan, so he saw him as his child and tried to guide him career-wise on how to make wise choices.

All that had changed since he found out that Arlan had used his child’s sickness to his advantage and, in the process, tricked Mary.

Arlan didn’t stop cursing. Inside the taxi that he took to a pub, he kept on cursing, and the driver only threw side glances at him, not knowing what to say.

He paid the taxi driver and walked into the pub as though it was his home. He made an order for a beer.

“I am sorry, it’s too early for that,” the bartender said, and Arlan didn’t spare him.

The bar owner saved the poor bartender by suggesting that Arlan takes the beer home.

Christabel’s first day at work went smoothly. Her colleagues saw her engagement ring, and they all sent her messages of congratulations though she knew some didn’t really
