Since Larry and this woman owns the place, they have the right to make changes to their apartment, particularly the keys, and most actually did that.

“Really?” she asked, her eyes bright, hopefully looking at him.

That meant they hadn’t change the locks, Jacob mussed to himself once more.

“Yeah, I guess it would be fine,” Jacob continued further. “He probably won’t come until nine or ten.” If we’re lucky, I thought to myself. “But you can wait for a while in here.”

She released a relieved sigh before she said, “Thanks, um…?”

“Jacob,” he replied, grinning.
