Rick was surprised. He did not know what to do. But most of his thought was about wondering where she had gotten the information about him and Melanie.
He thought of how awful she must be feeling and wondered why he had agreed to Melanie’s plan in the first place.
Rick also realized that had he not agreed to it, he would have never gotten close to Katherine.
He had grown to love her immensely and was glad that she seemed so understanding than he had previously assumed.
He thought of how she had turned his life around and how he had repaid her by being so disloyal.
Rick hoped he would make it up to her, and he hoped she would understand and forgive him.
