Jake felt a little frustrated because it was not the first time Tara was acting weird. So just like what he did before, he asked her carefully what's wrong.
"Are you not feeling well?" Jake asked as he tried to downplay it. He wanted to believe that she was only indifferent because she was sick. That idea was more acceptable to him and less scary.
Tara shook her head. She released a heavy sigh before speaking softly, “Jake, I still think it’s best to stop seeing―”
"Hey, wait… We already talked about this silly thing, right? Don't worry, everything will be alright…" he tried to assure her as a forced smile came out of his face.
However, her response made his smile disappear, and it almost crushed his heart.
“It is not silly! if my parents find out, I will have a lot of problems!” She responded angrily.
Unlike before that, she just silently agreed. This time, she looked at him with some anger.
