Ted marries Diane, her love grows, and with his new son Matthew, they are a family. The remorse they feel for the situations they have experienced with Sarah is still present. Still, the two determine that there is no reason why they cannot continue with their life.

However, both in pregnancy and in the days after the young boy was born, they feel like someone is watching them, both are tormented by the clear vision of a stranger who makes them the victims of their voyeurism. They cannot prove that they are victims of some stalker, but they are sure that they are.

Diane begins to think that this could easily be the action of Sarah, who plans to fulfill her promise and lead them both to their deaths as payment for what they did. Ted gives some thoughts to that idea but decides to ignore that fact. He wants to find happiness, and focusing on those kinds of situations will cause nothing but terrible grief in his heart.
