Chapter Thirty Eight

Elena was in bed after a long school day, coming home to eat and settling down to do her assignments. She didn’t come home with the school bus because her new friend had a car and wanted to drop her off. She laid down with her back, turning her head to the ceiling and staring at it.

She was still in awe about the new girl that she had stepped things up with that easily. Sighing as her chest fell, she closed her eyes briefly before opening them again. Apart from her talking too much, she was so full of energy, which Elena didn’t understand. She also had Energy in her if she was dealing with Matthew, but apart from that, there was nothing in her again.

A notification popped on her phone, causing her to shift on the bed and pick it up. Her face scrunched into a frown as she saw a new number on it, her mind already taking a guess on who it could be.

“Hi, friend,” the number texted her.

She decided not to open the message, wanting to close the phon
