CHAPTER 5

JOSH POV.

I've been healing for the last 100 years, waiting to sense where my heart was so I can find it again. And now at last the moment is here. I saw a girl and had a very strong feeling when I was roaming around looking for it. This time, as I looked at her, I felt my heart beat faster in her, and I wondered why it had to be her all along and why his heart had selected her as his partner. I hit her because I didn't know what else to do and because I wanted to exact revenge on Elisa as well as reclaim my heart and locate my other bodily part.

I brought her to Zungu village on my back, where I've been hiding for the past few years. I liked it this way because no one here knows who I am. I didn't even listen to anyone, despite the fact that I was well known for being quiet. I brought a lady home, which shocked everyone.

I noticed her getting water and her favorite bons on the street, so the next morning I went to where I had tied her. I had this intense connection with her again when I saw her, but I tried not to let it get to me. I told myself, I can't love a woman again. I moved in closer to free her mouth and eye from the binding.

She asked, " Who are you?" I didn't give her any response but gave her the bons to eat.

She kept staring at me as if she had seen a ghost, and then she started yelling for assistance.

"No one is coming to save you so save yourself the stress and eat something already," I told her. She refused, and as I got up to take the food out, she called me back and began threatening to release her.

"I will eat but at least release me. I can't eat with my hands tied," she replied. After I failed to respond, she asked me to bring it closer, which I did, and she began eating straight from the plate with her mouth.

She identified herself as she was eating and questioned why I had brought her here. Without replying, I untied her and brought her to a place where she could relax.

"Am stepping out for now I will be back soon, just make yourself comfortable," I told her. She smiled reassuringly at me, and I walked away.

I made up my mind to head back to where my tail had been caged by Elisa. I kept attempting, but in vain, to breach the barrier and retrieve my tail back. On the way back, I happened to spot Lily engaged in combat with a demon snake. I said to myself, "This girl is not serious; I told her to stay at home, and look at her." Since I lost the majority of my powers and am unable to go past that barrier, I believe that this demon snake can assist me, I thought to myself.

I caught the snake and had to move between them.

"Yes you caught it, I can't wait to get the cash," she responded.

"What exactly are you talking about? I didn't catch it for you and I ask you to stay at home," I said to her.

We broke out into combat over the demon snake.

"What is all this? I can't offer any help to anyone because my beloved is dying and I have to save her real quick," the demon snake said.

"I'm so in love right now. What's she like?" Lily enquired. While the demon snake continued to grin.

I turned to them both and replied, "I don't have time for all these." With a roiling rage within me.

I told him, "We can help each other ourselves."

"How?" He enquired.

I addressed him, saying, "I'm the dragon king. You can assist me in opening the barrier, and when I get my tail back, I'll use the power to fix this crescent ball so you can use it to save her."

He stood up, bowed to me, and said, "Dragon King, I thought as much."

Lily could not stop giggling, "Who is the dragon king, you don't even look like a king."

I said to myself, "You are so silly."

I told him that tomorrow we would all meet here. And with that, he agreed right away and vanished.

Lily and I started our journey home. She would not stop laughing and would not accept that I was the dragon king. I have other things on my mind, so I didn't even get any time with her. After we got home, I proceeded to go and take my bath. I told myself that the full moon day will arrive shortly. Before I could continue to think, I noticed Lily grinning as she stared at me. If not, she would be gaping at my nudity and not caring that I'm inside a large can.

I told her, "You won't stop staring and go back inside."

Why did you have to go outside to take a bath? well it's not my fault?" She said, chuckling.

When you're done bathing, lock the door, I am going to sleep.

Like as if I don't know what to do I said to myself.

We all arrived at the location of the barrier across the river the following day. The demon snake began to open the barrier

"It's not easy so if you go inside hurry up to come out quickly because I can't hold this for too long," stated the demon snake.

Lily and I hurried inside, and as soon as we did, I searched for a sharp object and stabbed Lily in the chest to ask for her heart's blood. I had to utilize it in order to remove my tail. Lily collapsed to the ground after giving me a startled glance. I told her that she will be better right away. Even though I knew she was furious with me at the time, I didn't give a damn about her.
