Ariana

The rain beat against the windowpane in a steady rhythm, a somber backdrop to the turmoil that churned within me. I stood outside the imposing doors of the Blood Moon Pack's meeting room, my heart pounding in my chest as I fought back the waves of anxiety that threatened to engulf me.

Beta had delivered the message, a cold directive that I leave immediately, that I was not welcome in this place. The sting of rejection had cut deep, but I couldn't simply accept it. I couldn't let  Lucas's misunderstanding stand, not when it held the potential to shatter the fragile connection that had formed between us.

Determination burned within me as I pushed open the heavy door, stepping into the dimly lit room. My gaze landed on him—Lucas, the notorious Alpha, who sat at the head of a grand table, his expression a mix of intrigue and irritation as he regarded me.

The air was charged with tension as I approached, my footsteps echoing through the vast space. I met his gaze head-on, my voice steady as I began to explain, "Alpha Lucas, there seems to be a misunderstanding. It wasn't me who—"

But he cut me off with a dismissive wave of his hand, his voice dripping with condescension. "Save your breath, Omega. I've heard enough."

"I would never accept an Omega as my Luna. " his voice had declared, a harsh decree that had struck me like a dagger to the heart.

“You should learn from your sister, instead of becoming a worthless omega, don't you feel ashamed of so many scandals? leave now, you should understand that your actions will hurt Seraphina.”

The rejection had been swift and merciless, his words echoing in my ears as I stumbled out of the room. I had thought that confronting him, revealing the truth, would bridge the gap between us. But instead, it had widened the chasm, leaving me feeling like a discarded pawn in a game I could never win.

The words hung in the air like a heavy cloud, each one a blow to my already fragile sense of self-worth. I clenched my fists, my heartache masked by a façade of determination. I couldn't let him believe a lie, not when it could irrevocably alter the course of my life.

"No, you don't understand. It was a mistake," I insisted, my voice trembling despite my efforts to remain resolute.

He leaned back in his chair, his gaze unwavering as he regarded me with a mixture of amusement and disdain. "Do you honestly believe I would mistake you for someone else?"

His words were like a punch to the gut, a stark reminder of the vast chasm that separated us. I had hoped that by speaking to him directly, by confronting the misunderstanding head-on, I could bridge that gap and make him see the truth.

"Please, just listen. I'm not who you think I am, your wolf can feel it, I'm your mate," I implored, my voice barely above a whisper.

He scoffed, his eyes narrowing as he studied me with a hint of derision. "I have no interest in your excuses, Omega."

The weight of his indifference was crushing, the reality of his rejection sinking in like a heavy stone. Lucas's words were like a sharp blade, cutting through my resolve and leaving me vulnerable, exposed.

"I... I just wanted to make sure you knew the truth," I whispered, my voice trembling with a mix of frustration and hurt.

A bitter smile tugged at the corners of his lips, his gaze never leaving mine. "And now you have. You can leave."

The dismissal was clear, final, and I felt my heart shatter into a thousand pieces. I turned away, my steps heavy as I retraced my path toward the exit. The rain outside mirrored the storm that raged within me, the tears that threatened to spill from my eyes blending seamlessly with the raindrops that streaked down the windowpane.

As I stepped out into the night, the downpour drenched me within seconds, my clothes sticking to my skin. I wrapped my arms around myself, a feeble attempt to shield myself from both the rain and the heartache that threatened to consume me.

I stumbled through the muddy path, my vision blurred by tears and rain, the world around me a distorted and surreal blur.

It was a lonely walk, a journey that mirrored the isolation I felt deep within my soul. Lucas's heartlessness echoed in my ears, his rejection a wound that festered with every step I took away from him.

By the time I reached the outskirts of the Blood Moon Pack's territory, I was soaked to the bone, the cold rain seeping into my very core. The world around me felt like a haze, my thoughts consumed by the pain that radiated from my heart.

I sank to my knees on the wet ground, the rain mingling with my tears as I allowed myself to grieve. “Fuck mate, I don't need it.”

I am a lonely wolf, or rather, I don't even have the essence of a wolf. It's as if I've been abandoned by God. Should I indulge in self-pity?

As the rain continued to pour, I whispered a silent promise to myself—a promise to rise from this darkness, to find strength within my vulnerability, and to forge a path that was uniquely mine. Lucas's heartlessness had wounded me deeply, but it would not define me. With the rain as my witness, I vowed to reclaim my shattered heart and emerge from this storm stronger, wiser, and ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Maybe we'll have to consult the moon and the stars for the right time."Our daughter, however, was having none of it. She stamped her furry paw on the ground playfully. "Come on, you two!
