Amira's Point Of View
I BELIEVE that it is better to give love than hatred. Someone once told me that if you have anger in your heart, you're just like a murderer. You will never sleep peacefully at night and most of all, it will be emotionally heavy for you.Well, aside from that, it's not because you've forgiven the person who did something bad to you means you can forget the things that they did. All I know and believe is that when you get rid of the anger in your heart, it doesn't immediately mean that you have forgotten your trauma. Because sometimes, that trauma gives you a reason to learn. Like, you know your next step once you're in that situation again. When I finished fixing the trolley, I immediately went around and cleaned the floor and segregated the garbage. This is what I often do. It's time consuming but it's worth it when you get the salary. Especially when I eat my daughter on her favorite fast food restaurant.Everytime I get my salary I take her there and let her order everything she wants to eat. But of course, I already divided my money for that day.Time passed and I finished cleaning. Is it my vacant time and I'll be back later at three o'clock. I went to our locker and took out the food which is Nala's leftover this morning. That's what I do when Nala has leftover. I put them on my food container so that I could eat something and not buy from the cafeteria. Except that I don't like the taste of the foods on the cafeteria, their sales are also expensive. When I got my container containing the food that I'm going to eat, I immediately went to the cafeteria. I took the place where there's a lot of blocks covering me so that I wasn't too exposed to people. It's not that I'm adraid to be seen eating a leftover food, I just really don't want other people to watch me eat and I don't want a lot of people surrounding me.I'm honestly more comfortable alone. When I'm alone I feel like I know myself better and I'm more at ease. When there are many people being noisy, I feel like I'm going to puke due to my anxiety. Aside from that, I can't focus on what I'm doing."Your thinking too deep."I stopped thinking about something when I suddenly heard Kieth's voice. I immediately turned to him and smiled."I guess, it's your vacant again, right?" I asked while laughing.I just followed him with my eyes until he sat down on the couch in the cafeteria. Right after he sat down, he spoke, "It's more tiring to sit than to do something," he frown while talking then lowered his head on the table.I laughed for a moment and put the spoon and fork inside the container before I speak, "That's way better than doing heavy works. How does it feel to sit down until you go home ?" I asked with a laugh."You'll get sick of it, promise!" He said.It was almost three o'clock when Kieth and I said goodbye to each other. He begged me to come back on my area at three thirty because he I had nothing else to do and I had already cleaned my area but I did not agree. There is a CCTV and I can get fired if I'll be gone from my area for thirty minutes.I immediately entered the elevator and waited to go up to the floor assigned to me. When the 24th floor button lit up, I quickly got out of the elevator and began to walk around with my trolley, to see if there is any mud on the tiles or if there is a spilled drink on the floor. It's rare to have such a scenario, but I'm still checking.Other employees said earlier that the CEO of the company is strict. It will also be hard if someone will report me to the Master's Head Department and they'll also report me 'til I my issue reach to our CEO.I need a job and I will do everything not to lose it. All the companies here are accepting only college graduate. If you're not a college graduate, it is difficult to get into other companies.I was busy checking the floor when someone suddenly spill the juice on the floor which caused the juice to splash on my uniform."Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry, Miss." A girl apologized who I think is about eighteen years old."No worries, it's fine," I uttered. She took a tissue and was about to clean the floor but I grabbed her wrist to stop her from wiping the floor."No, I'll take care of that, Ma'am." I said. She immediately stood up and let me clean the floor. When I finished cleaning the part of the floor that was spilled, she thanked me causing her to extend her hand, "Thank you so much! Oh! by the way, I'm Ezekiah. 15 years old. Well, you can call me Ezy tho. And you are?" She introduced herself and asked me."Amira," I said while smiling and we shake hands. When we let go of our hands, I spoke again, "You're only fifteen? I thought you were eighteen. You're really reallybeautiful," I told her that made her froze for a minute. When I noticed that my mouth was too much, I immediately bit my lower lip and immediately apologized to her. "I think I spoke too much. I-I'm sorry," I apologized, shaking my head."No, it's okay," she laughed. We talked for a minute and right after that I decided to leave."Hmm. I'll go first, Ezy. Maybe the Master's Head of our department will scold me for not roaming around," I uttered."Oh, before you go. What's your full name by the way?" She asked then smiled at me widely.I smiled at her and spoke, "Amira Lopez." I uttered. After we said goodbye to each other, I immediately returned to the locker to put my trolley. A little later I will pick up Nala at Eryl's house."You're going home? Let's go together," Kieth said causing me to jump in shock as while sitting down on the coucg in the cafeteria."I'm going to pick up Nala. You know, the vacation is over," I said with a smile."OH, I almost forgot. Since that's the case, I guess I should get going? I'll go first," he said then walked outside our department."Take care," I reminded him.He immediately straightened up and even saluted me causing me to laugh.to be continued...Amira's Point Of View "Mommy!" Nala shouted when I got to Eryl's house. Nala was currently playing in Eryl's fence while Eryl is busy grilling the dish. I greeted Nala's tight hug with a smile. "I missed you, Mama," she said softly. I smiled widelyy because of what Nala said. Nala is sweet a and a very kind child. She's the type of person that would be nice to have as a friend or relative because as long as she can understand, love, and forgive, she will definitely do it. In fact, I see myself in her, something that scares me. It is scary because she can also be abused and exploited. "We've only been apart for a few hours, huh?" I smiled then kissed her on her cheek before I walked closer to Eryl. "Hello, Amira! How's work?" Eryl said with a smile as she fanned what she was grilling to make the flame stronger. I smiled and immediately told her what happened to me at work. Eryl is like my best friend. I am very thankful to the Lord because He gave me a friend like her. I stoppe
Amira's Point Of View "What are you going to do with your salary, Amira? It feels so good! Our salary increased!" Maribel said—my co-worker. "I'm paying the bills at home and then the other expenses. Yes, the new CEO of the company is kind," I said with a smile. Maybe our new Boss is generous and kind that's why he gave us such a big salary. I can't help but admire him because of his kindness even though I haven't seen him or talked to him. "Oh! So, you can't join us later?" Maribel is frowning while asking me. "If the place you're going to has expenses, I might not be able to go with you. I still have many things to pay as of now," I uttered and tried to smile. That's true. I might not be able to buy Nala her favorite food because the money that I got is only enough for my bills. Nala is an understanding child so I have confidence in her that she will understand our situation now. "Oh, Amira! Leave some money for yourself too." Trina said, another co-worker of mine, whil
Amira's Point Of View "Ez. I am Ez," the man said after he cleared his throat. I was horrified by the voice of Ezekiah's brother—something that made me frown. Different, I have a different feeling in that voice which I think is familiar to me. "H-have we met before?" I uttered. There was silence between the three of us. I was about to speak again when Ezekiah's brother suddenly spoke. "No, we haven't." He seriously said. "Is that so? Your voice sounds familiar," I said. Ezekiah spoke again and told many things about her family and life. Her older brother have died because of a car accident while his Mommy and Daddy are in another country busy with their company. Ezekiah asked me where my house at. At first, I was going to just get off at the tricycle terminal but she insisted on taking me to my house. Eryl texted me that she and Nala were at home because Nala was thinking about her cat, Bujiji. "Thank you very much, Ezekiah." I uttered. "The rain has stopped, do you want to
Amira's Point Of View I Woke up at half past one in the morning because of the cold. It was so cold that I felt like I was lying on ice. I immediately covered myself with a blanket but I was still shivering from even though my whole body was wrapped in the blanket. "Mom? Are you okay?" I didn't notice that I woke up Nala. I immediately looked at her and smiled widely so that she wouldn't notice me shiver but I didn't win. She touched my forehead and immediately removed her hand. "Mom, you're so hot!" She nervously said. I spoke and showed that I was fine to stop the nervousness she was feeling. "Baby, Mom is fine, okay? I'm fine because it's just a fever. We'll call Teacher Eryl later so you won't get infected." I uttered. Time passed before Eryl arrived. She still has class that's why she arrived late. I feel sorry for Nala because she hasn't eaten yet and I'm worried because of that. "Ez told you to change your clothes but you didn't listen. Who will watch over you if you
Amira's Point Of View "Mom, it's so beautiful here!" Nala excitedly said, causing me to force a smile on my face. When we finally entered the house—mansion of Ezra's parents, Ezekiah immediately greeted us. I frowned as I remembered the man who was with Ezekiah at our house the other night. That's why the voice and volume of that man are familiar because Ezra and Ez are the same. "Hello, Amira!" Ezekiah said causing me to smile and tearfully hug her. I am afraid not only for myself, but also for my daughter. Maybe Ezra's family doesn't know what he did to me back then. His family is kind and welcoming, which made me think that they might already know the situation, that Ezra and I have a child. "Aunt Ezekiah!" Nala shouted. "Hello there, baby! Do you want me to tour you around?" Ezekiah spoke with a smile. "Yes!!" Nala first waved to her Grandparents then immediately joined Ezekiah. "G-good day," I said nervously. Ezra's parents smiled and immediately invited me to their di
Amira's Point Of ViewTHE NEXT MORNING I woke up when I felt something heavy on my hip causing me to quickly look to see what it was."What did you do to me?!" I shouted then crossed my arms over my chest when I saw Ezrael hugging me on my hips a few seconds ago.I immediately pushed him and moved away from him causing him to moan in pain."Why did you push me away? Argh!" He groaned while rubbing his butt."Oh! I-I'm sorry!" I said then helped him stand up.He immediately took my hand then I slowly lifted him to stand."You're so mean, tsk!" He uttered then gently flicked his finger on my forehead."I will repeat my question. What did you do to me?!" I asked once again. Ezra chuckled then licked his lower lip before he spoke, "I didn't do anything to you. Believe it or not, you're not my type," he said and grinned then left me dumbfounded.Hah! If I'm not his type, he's even not my type! How dare him say that?! I wonder if he did the same thing he did to me with other women before,
Amira's Point Of View I did not bother every drop of my sweat and blood that are falling down to my face. I want to escape. Even if I don't have a family to go home to, I don't care. Monster; that's the only word I can compare to the person where my boss sold me with. I fully thought that this monster would be the answer to my way out of poverty, but I was wrong. He has no heart! I'm trying to remove the handcuffs that are currently placed on both of my hands but no matter how much strength I use to remove my hands from the handcuff, I can't do it. I have tried to ask for help several times, but no matter how much I scream, I feel like no one can hear me. My attention turned to the door when it seemed like someone was opening it. The whole room was so dark that no matter how hard I try to see his face, I couldn't. As he got closer, I tried to get away from him. I have swallowed several times because of the nervousness that I feel. When I felt that he was close to me, I just close
Amira's Point Of ViewI WOKE UP because of the sunlight coming through the window. I was disappointed because I thought it was all just a dream. I thought that when I woke up things would be back to normal, but they weren't.I looked at my wrists because they were still sore. It's red, there's dried blood, and there are wounds. I can't help but to feel sorry for myself because of what I'm going through right now. I'm having a hard time. It seems like any moment my body will give up because of the bad things that I'm facing.I stopped looking at my wound when I suddenly felt my stomach churning due to hunger. It's my second day here but I haven't eaten yet. I know I'm the only one to blame because I don't accept the food he gives me.When I heard I heard and saw the doorknob move, I immediately retreated and covered my whole body with the blanket. I weren't wrong. The monster man spat out from the door carrying a plate containing bacon, eggs, hotdogs and fried rice. I felt my stomach c

I have to admit, I still haven't forgotten the bad things that he did to me. I thought that I wouldn't want Nala to live, but when I gave birth to her, everything changed. When I heard her cry and held her, it seemed that all my anger, problems and fears disappeared.I smiled when I saw her slowly open her eyes. I just want you to suffer because of what you did to my brother. Fair enough, isn't it?” He said while smiling but his eyes showed anger and sadness. He let go of my hair but I screamed even more when he punched me again in my stomach. I couldn't do anything other than to feel the pain caused by his punch. I feel like I'm going to pass out at any moment because of the pain that I feel."I am Ezra. I can bury you alive 'til you rot in hell, Imelda Vasquez.” He then left the room.It was hard but I tried to get up to bang on the door and scream, begging him to listen to me. "Ezra!
