CH11: Welcome Home Selene!

As the car moved toward the front yard, Daniela saw pure green scenery around the mansion. The wide garden and the trees growing around it. Daniela felt frightened as she saw the forest at the back of the hacienda.

"Philip, what if elements are living in that forest? I'm scared." Daniela said while wandering her eyes around.

"Haha. Do you remember what you said to me? It's 2023 and the elements are just an imagination hahaha." Philip could not restrain laughing as he replied to Daniela.

"Piece of shit!" Daniela uttered, and making Philip laugh.

"Okay, sorry haha. That's a dark forest. No one goes there because of some humor." Philip uttered, that made Daniela roll her eyes.

At that moment, Daniela felt annoyed and she wanted to pinch Philip when they heard someone greeting them outside the car.

"Good Morning ma'am, sir!"  An old woman greeted them happily. She was in her late 50s. She was standing on the other side of the car where Daniela was located. She waited for the items of baggage that the two couples might carry.

After a while, the other people inside the mansion came and the three maidens swept into the yard. They happily greeted their boss as the two got out of their car.

"Glad to see you again Sir Montreal! Mostly you Mrs. Montreal and who..." Aling Linda happily uttered, but before she finished her words, she suddenly wondered who the baby was that Daniela carried.

"I never thought that you had a daughter, Sir Philip," Rosa uttered as she saw Selene. Daniela smiled as she stepped on the floor.

"She is our ad..." Philip replied, but before he ended his words, Daniela suddenly jumped into the conversation between the other two.

"She is our daughter. Selene...Selene is her name." She smiled as she uttered it. Philip stared at her meaningfully, but she did not mind it.

"Oh. Nice to hear that Ma'am Daniela. But why don't you tell us that you will come so we can organise a welcome party for the three of you, especially for your daughter." 

"Ahmm.Sir, Ma'am, come in." Aling Linda invited them to come in. Daniela and Philip entered the mansion. From the wooden door to the floor, elegance was seen. Everything about the mansion was suitable for a first-class family.

While they were walking, Rosa could not restrain herself to ask more about Selene. She was the youngest daughter of Aling Linda.

"Ma'am Daniela, how young she was? Is she the reason why Sir Philip visited us without you? But as far as I know, Sir Philip could not make a baby because he has..." Rosa asked, seeming like her tongue was itchy. That's why she could stop herself from talking. Because she was talkative, Aling Linda glared at her to make her stop asking.

"Psst..." Aling Linda whispered to Rosa and she pinched her arm secretly. Rosa lost her smile and she stooped on the floor and kept on walking.

When they reached the living room, Aling Linda and Rosa prepared the seats for the two. Jenna and Mariz came and they greeted the two couples the same.

"Sir, please excuse us. We will prepare our dinner. Please take your rest first." Aling Linda uttered, wearing a bright smile toward the two.

"Ahmm, Ma'am Daniela, I will take your baby to your room. We will guard them until she falls asleep." Jenna uttered that, responding to Daniela quickly.

"Thanks..." Daniela replied as she gave Selene to Jenna. Because Jenna has experience of handling babies, Philip trusts her.

"Anyway, she is Jenna. She has a daughter, old like Selene. Someday, Jenna's daughter will be Selene's best friend." Philip uttered that made Daniela feel happy.

"That's a relief as I know that there is a child here that may become Selene's playmate soon," Daniela said, wearing a smile on her face while staring at Jenna, who was walking away. Philip with his wife around the living room and Daniela was in her excitement about seeing other things around. They kept on talking about people in the house while the others were in the kitchen making dinner.

After a while, Senya came, the middle daughter of Aling Linda. She walked toward the two couples who were happily talking about something.

"Ehemm. Sir, Ma'am, s-sorry for the interruption." Senya vowed her head as she came closer to the two. As she added, she bit her lower lips and stepped back to give way to the two.

"The food is already done. Please take your dinner Sir, Ma'am." Senya respectfully uttered while she still lowered her head.

Daniela tapped the shoulder of Senya lightly and kindly said, "Don't be shy, because from now on, we will be the same face that you will see every day."  

Senya started to raise her head and she saw the two couples smiling back at her. She clenched her hands and nodded her head.

" Let's go, honey. Aling Linda's dishes taste better. I'm sure you will finally like it." Philip uttered, and the two couples walked toward the kitchen. Senya followed them and she gently walked behind.

They took their dinner and happily talked about the things around the mansion. However, while they were eating, someone watched Selene lying on the soft cushioned bed. Jenna leaves her after making her fall asleep.

And that entire mansion was filled with joy as they toured and enjoyed the environment there.

When the night came, Philip hoped that his night terror would end, and fortunately, when the daytime came, he did not dream the same nightmare again.

And from the whole time that they spent in the mansion, no one knew that Selene was just an adopted daughter of the two. It might be because Selene was just four months old, and she adopted the face of her foster parents.

Living inside the hacienda of Montreal has become an everyday habit of the people there. They live like a family and enjoy every moment that has passed in their lives. Since Philip and Daniela lived in the province, their relationship became stronger. It might be because of Selene and the people there. 

"Hahahaha..." 

The laughter in the garden was heard as Philip and Daniela came from the town to buy something they needed. And from the moment that they heard the laughter of Selene and Jenny, the people in the yard laughed the same. The two couples watch the two children crawling on the mat while Aling Linda, Senya, and Jenna watch them.

" I love watching them grow together, Philip. Thanks to god and Selene is still with us. I don't know what I will do if she left us," Daniela uttered while her eyes kept on watching the two kids. 

Philip held her hand and kissed her forehead as he spoke gently. 

"Daniela, Selene is still with us and you don't have to worry about the future. That never happens. Trust me, she will be forever with us, especially since we are far from the city where her parents might look for her." Daniela tilted her head on Philip's shoulder and took a deep breath.

"Sigh. I hope that she will be with us until we die." She uttered, hoping that Selene would live with them.

Philip kissed Daniela's head again and he continued driving the car until they stopped in the garage.

Days passed and the two couples were contented with the life that they had. Philip was still working for their family and Daniela took care of their daughter. 

Days passed and it turned into a week, and weeks turned into months and months turned into years, and the entire mansion was filled with happiness. Until the very awaiting moment came when the two couples prepared for a long time.
