Chapter 33: Amelia

Asher had finally managed to escape the clutches of the abandoned castle where he had endured countless days of torment. With every step he took, pain coursed through his weary body, reminding him of the suffering he had endured. The early morning sunlight overhead illuminated his path, casting an eerie light on the desolate road ahead.

Even though he was weak and battered, Asher's determination pushed him forward. He stumbled and faltered, his movements resembling that of a wounded animal. Blood dripped from his torn clothes, leaving a crimson trail behind him. Each breath he took was shallow and filled with agony, yet his indomitable spirit refused to let him succumb to despair.

The sound of an approaching car interrupted the silence of the morning. Asher knew he had to summon the last vestiges of his strength to reach the road and flag down the vehicle. With a herculean effort, he managed to drag himself to the roadside just in time to catch the attention of the passerby.
