EMMA

I was momentarily taken aback with his words. It had been years since I heard anyone speak positively about Papa. Instead of seeing someone look at me with pity or revulsion, I saw pride associated with Papa’s memory.

“Thanks,” I told him sincerely.

I cleared my throat and clenched my fist in my lap to keep my emotions in check. There were only a few things that made me cry, but Papa was one of those. Xander placed his hand over mine, and his warmth and the sparks helped me relax. I looked up at him and smiled. I appreciated him being here with me and choosing me.

It overjoyed me that someone besides me respected Papa. Ezekiel and Heath tried everything they could to tarnish his memory, so I was glad that they failed. Papa deserved to be remembered for the amazing leader that he was because there was none like him.

“I heard that he was supposed to take up as Blacktree’s Alpha, right?” Kurtis asked. I nodded and took another sip of my drink.

“Yeah, but unfortunately our pack

Xander and Kai finally laid a claim to Emma. It was a clear indication that she was off-limits. Astrid was the first wolf-counterpart, besides Kai, to have a conversation with. Emma's lineage is unknown to her, but this will play into why they flock to her.

EMMA I tried pulling against the door, but it burned my hands. Red scorch marks were left on my palms from the handle and blistered immediately. I turned around, trying to figure out what the hell was going on. The was no reason why the door was stuck from both sides or why it was hot enough to burn me. It made no sense. The air around me thickened, as if the oxygen was being sucked away. It was no longer just a bit breezy. Bitter coldness rushed over my body, making it feel like sharp ice was being dragged across my skin. The cold seeped deep into my bones, and it made them hurt like hell. It felt wrong. It all felt wrong. I knew I was not alone. Even though I could not see anything, I knew there was something out here with me. It was eerie and entirely unmistakable. The shadows in front of me blended together, swirling, and gathering together until a large singular one formed. The shadow had no eyes, but I could feel it watching me, analyzing me, and looking for my weaknesses. A

EMMA ‘Did I hurt you?’ he asked quickly, his eyes searching mine. My sweet wolf was so afraid of hurting me. Who would had thought that Black Devil could be such a gentle soul. He was my gentle soul. Only I got to see this side of him just as only I got to see the sweet side of Xander. My boys gave those sides only to me, and I loved it. “No. Quite the opposite actually. Will you try it again?” I asked, hoping it would work. He always eased it when it got bad before, but this felt different. It almost felt like he was fixing it. It was very hard to explain. Kai sat up and lowered his muzzle to the side of my neck. He sniffed the veins and whined before his tongue darted out to it. The moment his tongue touched my neck, I felt an intense explosion from that area. A vein shot out of my skin towards Kai, trying to attach itself to him. It felt like time slowed down for a few seconds. Rage, unlike anything I had ever felt before propelled my actions. My hand shot out and quickly grab

EMMA “Don’t you dare look away,” he growled loudly at me. My eyes snapped back to him, and I was incredibly turned on. I felt wetness coating my thighs, and Kai took a deep breath before groaning at the smell of my arousal. “You’re dripping and so fucking tight,” he murmured appreciatively. “Only Xander and I will ever touch your pussy like this. Right, doll?” “Yes,” I promised. His fingers and his words built up an incredible pressure inside of me. His fingers slid in and out with ease given how coated I was. I could hear the wetness each time he moved. He taking his time and not going fast enough to get me off just yet. He was wanting to build it up. I was puddy in his hands. “What were you thinking about when we were dancing? You even put our hand on your ass. Hmm…what was our bad girl thinking?” he questioned while his lips and teeth made their way along my jaw, leaving little stinging nips behind. I loved how they called me their girl. It made my heart skip a beat. They wer

EMMA Anger boiled inside of me, burning me up from the inside. A loud growl escaped my throat right before my fist collided with the wall. My fist punched the wall three more times before someone pulled me away from it. I turned to face them and let loose a vicious snarl. How dare they stop me. My back collided with something hard, and my anger kept boiling inside of me. Something wrapped around my neck and pierced into my flesh. The pressure of it helped me focus through the anger. My chest heaved, and I focused on the sparks around my neck. The haze dissipated with each second that passed. I looked up and saw Handsome looking down at me. I nodded as much as I could with his hand around my throat. His hand left my neck, and he leaned down, kissing the punctures to close them. The reality of it all hit me, and I slid down the wall until I was sitting against it. I was pissed. No, I was furious. This was bound to happen no matter how much they tried to assure me that it would not. I

  • Moon's Betrayal   Chapter 45

EMMA We made the plan for Doc to come draw some blood and run a gamut of testing on it through a separate testing facility located in Johnson’s sector. It made sense that they had some off-the-grid facilities for things they could not exactly publicize. Plus, we could trust Doc not to mention the project to anyone else. The information was far too sensitive. We all trusted that he would understand that. Xander walked me back to my room and leaned against the doorway. I could see how much tonight weighed on him. I really hated how the night turned out because today had been perfect except for the shadow and my slight breakdown. “Want Kai to spend the night with you?” he asked. I wound my arms around his waist and looked up into those copper eyes that I had fallen for the first time I saw them. How the fuck did I get so lucky? They both did not leave me high and dry after this craziness. I was fairly certain that many people would have. No, they stayed beside me and fought for me. T

  • Moon's Betrayal   Chapter 46

XANDER Emma’s side of the bed was cold by the time that I woke up. Healing her veins took a lot out of Kai, so she probably slipped out when we were passed out. If there was even just one solace from last night, it was that Kai could help heal those veins. There was at least a temporary solution even though we were not able to fix it just yet. It helped lift some weight off our shoulders. Yesterday started out really fucking awesome. I finally got to truly kiss Emma, not to mention that I got to taste her too. She was delicious and so perfect and all ours. Then she sparred with me and royally kicked my ass. It took every ounce of patience not to take her right then and there. Oh, then that blowjob still had me seeing stars. Taking her to the bar was the highlight of my…well, life. So, I possessively laid claim to her so that nobody would fuck with her. I refused to tolerate it. What was better was that she wanted me to claim her in front of them as well. Her body had fit so perfect

XANDER She cleared her throat and clasped her hands in her lap. She was trying to fight back a smile at my words. I knew that she truly cared for the wolf counterparts. Kai and I were shocked with what Astrid had told Emma about how the wolf counterparts hated the way he was being treated. “So, this whole mindlink thing is newer to me. Can images or memories be shared?” Emma was always so reluctant to see herself how everyone else did. She really had made quite the following. Those who had met her, with the exception of a few assholes, loved her already. The pack was drawn to her. “Fairly easily, yes. You need to focus on the image or memory you want to share and push it out through the link.” It was a very valuable tactic for patrolling and interrogations. If they came across something they needed us to witness, they could open up the link entirely, and we could then watch it in real-time. Or, if facts needed to be corroborated, it could easily be done that way. There had also be

EMMA Mates. Xander said that we would be mates, one way or another as long as I wanted it. I believed his words. They wove their way down into the deepest parts of me and unlocked something I had never allowed myself to long for – a future. I finally allowed myself to realize that I desired a future with them more than anything. There was no longer a need about the here and now when it came to them. I could not only desire a future with them, but I could have it as well. No matter what, they would be mine, and I would be theirs. How the fuck did I end up in this place in life? Alpha Xander was feared around the country, and rightfully so. His hands could destroy life itself without hesitancy or effort. Yet his hands brought me nothing but pleasure. He was the sweetest person to me. He loved me and chose me above anyone else. He could easily have his pick of women, yet he chose just me. I would not lie and say that it did not leave me a little bit on the smug side of things. Not t

  • Moon's Betrayal   Epilogue

EMMA I went into labor during the middle of the night, and it scared the living shit out of my mates. It was adorable while also being a little comical. Most soon-to-be fathers were like that. We had everything ready because we knew it was possible to go into labor a little earlier than expected because of having twins. Oddly enough, this pregnancy had no true complications. Most shifters who had multiples typically had complications. However, I was thankful that everything had gone as smoothly as possible. The sigils truly helped with the pain of the delivery because it would have been torture otherwise. I felt horrible that I did not already have these on hand for when Bellamy was born. “You have this, Emma. One more push and your baby boy will be here,” Tilly said. It had been ten very long hours of labor, but it would be worth it in the end. Kai was sitting behind me, lending me strength during this time. He had a hold of one leg while Xander had a hold of the other. The thre

EMMA It was still very surreal to think that I had been in Tylaphina’s realm for six entire months. However, I was able to bring back messages to Papa and Leonidas from our family. They were amazed as I told them about spending time with everyone. Their parents wanted me to tell them how incredibly proud they were of them both. They were proud of Papa for being the King that our people needed. They watched as he transitioned to the ruler of Aedrul and were thankful for how he protected everyone that he could from Selene until she could be taken care of permanently. They were proud of Leonidas for everything he did to help Papa rune Aedrul. His strength and perseverance made the entire Venscothi line puff out their chests in appreciation and admiration. My mates and I wasted no time in completing our bond in wolf form as well as completing the Goddess of Fate ceremony. It was very intimate and quite pleasurable. It was interesting to say the least because we watched as our souls mom

  • Moon's Betrayal   Chapter 207

EMMA The pain from Asry’s shards slicing through me disappeared. Had I died? Nae did not say that was a possibility, but even she could not see every outcome. “No, you are not dead,” a melodic voice said. I opened my eyes and was in a beautiful field that was adorned with flowers of every color. My body was bathed in incredible warmth from the sun overhead. It was so peaceful, and my heart felt whole. It was a nice change from it feeling ripped apart, so there was that at least. There were wolves of all sizes sitting around, curiously watching me. It was a little creepy, but they looked happy. A beautiful woman stood between two of the larger wolves who looked as big as Krosthani. She was easily seven feet tall and had an ethereal glow around her. Her light brown hair cascaded in waves all the way to her waist, and her eyes were the most vibrant honey color which complemented her light bronze skin tone. “My name is Tylaphina, and it is because of you that I am free now. I was the

KAI “Why would you do that?” I screamed at her. There was only one explanation of how I was unharmed when she was not. She used Nata’s magic on me when I did not even realize it. She saved me instead of herself. I had never been more furious with her than I was in this moment. Macario and Tilly needed me to move away from her, but I could not do it. I could not let her go. “We have to let them take care of her. She needs them. Come on,” Xander said. I could hear the same anguish in his voice that I felt. I placed a kiss to her lips before setting her back on the ground and standing up. He pulled me a little further away to where Zane was. We watched as they assessed her. They spoke lowly to one another, but none of us could hear it. ‘She used Nata’s magic to protect me,’ I told Xander. I collapsed to the ground under the weight of it all. It was me that should be there and not her. She always took every fucking risk, putting everyone else before herself, when she should have pro

  • Moon's Betrayal   Chapter 205

EMMA The success of tonight depended on my ability to play my part perfectly. Thankfully, that was one thing I excelled at no matter in which life or situation it was necessary. I steeled my shoulders and turned around slowly to see Asry’s smug face smirking at me as if he was the one in charge right now. As if he was the one who fooled me. Oh, how the mighty would fall. “Can’t say that I’m surprised that you’re here with mother bitch,” I said dismissively. “Ungrateful brat. Who do you think you are?” she hissed at me. I looked at Asry imploringly who just laughed and waved me on. He did not care about Lenora one damn bit. He probably was not wanting me to kill her, but I still would. This was something that I thought about extensively since we put this plan together. I needed to make him believe that I would consider being on his side. Then I would kill her so that she was out of our hair while also ensuring that his vessel was no more. This would solve one of the issues tonigh

  • Moon's Betrayal   Chapter 204

EMMA Couples danced around the room, twirling, and dipping their partners. There was a string quartet playing on the balcony that oversaw the room. Acoustics amplified the music throughout the room as if it was right beside each of us. Despite the mission of the night, it was great to be in my Handsome’s arms once again. I loved sharing moments like this with my amazing mates. They were near and dear to my heart. No matter how much time we spent together in life, it would never be enough. Kai’s copper and silver eyes peered into mine while a handsome smirk pulled at his lip because he was thinking the same thing. We learned how to read one another better than any mindlink ever could. ‘Anything?’ I linked out. One of the sigils ensured that there was no evidence of a mindlink between any of us. That was the only way that we could pull this off. It also kept an open line of communication among everyone while in this room. It was a bit awkward right about now because there were many

  • Moon's Betrayal   Chapter 203

EMMA The stress about tonight faded away the moment that my eyes locked onto my mates. I was never able to comprehend what I did right in life to have them willing to stand next to me no matter how crazy or bizarre the situation was. They were beside me every step of the way from that night at Olly’s until this moment as they pulled me between them. “You are absolutely stunning, love,” Xander said. He and Kai stalked around me to get the full view of my look. The matching low rumbles from their chests showed me that they certainly approved. “Doll…” He could not even finish his thought because his eyes flashed with an intense desire. “You get even more gorgeous every time my eyes look at you,” he said, caressing my cheek with his thumb. My body instantly flushed in response to his words. It was not certain that I would ever get used to everything they made me feel. I felt cherished, complete, immensely happy, and I felt loved most of all. All of those emotions flooded through my bo

  • Moon's Betrayal   Chapter 202

EMMA We all ate a late breakfast together. It was not a joyous occasion, but we tried to make it as lighthearted as possible. The mission tonight was weighing heavily on everyone’s mind. It was not something that we discussed or alluded to, but it was the gigantic elephant in the room. I was really trying to keep my emotions under control because my mates would feel them and worry. We could not change what would happen tonight because we all knew the truth. Asry was too dangerous to let live. He would never stop coming for me or my family. We had to take him out of the equation to ensure our safety. I had a feeling in my gut that Nae’s vision of me being in a coma-like state was going to happen. This was the one thing I had to keep from my mates because they would call all of this off right here and now. They already felt guilty enough about me being in harms way, but there was nothing that we could do about it. I would just bury that thought as deeply as possible so that it did not

  • Moon's Betrayal   Chapter 201

EMMA I woke up between my sleeping mates and smiled at them. They gave me the best ending to our night yesterday. That bath was perfect and incredibly relaxing. Today was going to be difficult on all of us but more so on them because they would be fighting against their instincts to protect me at all costs. Was I terrified to face Asry today? Absolutely. I would be a damned fool to feel giddy about facing an ultimate evil that wanted to enslave me as his Queen. However, that terror would solve absolutely nothing. For the time being, I would just shove that terror down as far as I could. Everyone needed to remain focused for today because our futures could finally begin once he was gone. A mischievous grin tipped my lips up as I looked between the two of them. Eenie…meenie… My gaze landed on Xander, so I carefully maneuvered myself until I was eyelevel with his glorious cock. I remembered the first time I saw it and how excited it made me. It still did to this day. I would never get
