Caleb-
Things have been crazy the past couple of days. Since the pack meeting, things have escalated at a fast rate. I still haven’t been able to get anywhere with the hunter we had in the basement. He still wasn’t telling me much of anything.
His attitude was still the same, so I left him alone for the most part. Zeke has been working me into exhaustion with training, which I was thankful for, to be honest. Since I was now the new Alpha King, I was given more powers than the ones I apparently already possessed.
Zeke has been showing me how it all works, as well as helping me tap into my own powers. It was still strange to me that I wasn’t just your run-of-the-mill werewolf like I always believed. I wasn’t as strong as Zeke or as powerful as Kyra, but I was starting to become familiar with things.
According to Zeke, the reason I possessed a red energy source, unlike Kyra’s green or Zeke’s blue, is because we all had our
Caleb-“We can do this all night, I have plenty of time.” I told the hunter after breaking the last finger on his left hand.I never liked to use torture as a way to get what I wanted out of someone, but I wasn’t above it either. Especially after learning the guard that had been exposed to wolfsbane didn’t survive. Once I had Nick come to remove the body, I locked the doors to prevent anyone from coming down the stairs. There was only one I didn’t want to see me doing this though, that was Kyra. She was too good for this. I really didn’t want to expose her to this kind of darkness. Plus, I could still smell wolfsbane down here.I don’t know why it wasn’t affecting me. After searching for it, I still couldn’t locate the source either. However, I did do a thorough check on the hunter to make sure he wasn’t carrying anything else.“Go fuck yourself!” The hunter yelled out in pain.
Kyra-There was no excuse for what Caleb did. I didn’t care if the guy was a hunter or not. Torturing someone wasn’t the way to go. Maybe it was because I had been tortured and I hadn’t liked it.“If I let you go, you aren’t going to try anything are you?” I asked the hunter, just before unchaining his other hand.I have already released one of his hands, which he hasn’t tried anything yet, but that could also be because his fingers were all broken on that hand. I didn’t feel threatened by the hunter, which was a good thing. I have noticed that other creatures were calmer around me.He was human, so I didn’t understand why he would be calmer around me. He was though, I could feel it coming off him in waves. Was I wrong to suspect he was human though?“I won’t try anything.” The hunter echoed my words.“Good. Now, what is your name?” I asked as I unclasped the
Caleb-I was sitting on a hospital bed when Kyra found me. When she told me what she found out, I was a bit surprised. Not only was she able to get the information out of him so easily, but like her, I haven’t heard of a wolf being removed from a host.Just goes to show that I have been underestimating her. I have always known she was special, yet allowed myself to forget. From the start, I shouldn’t have tried keeping her out of it, in hopes of protecting her.“Is it possible to regain a wolf if neither of us thought it possible in the first place to have one removed?” I asked.Swinging my legs off the bed, I moved to stand up. I was feeling much better than I had a few hours ago. The wolfsbane was cleared out of my system completely, which was the reason I was acting so foolish before.“Stay.” Kyra said, moving towards the bed and placing her hand on my shoulder as she sat next to me on the bed. “I don&rs
Caleb-“It’s downstairs with the prisoner.” I said, trying to get Cory in the basement, so I could lock him up.“Is something wrong?” Nick asked.I wasn’t sure how to answer without giving something away. When I looked over at Cory, he seemed a bit uneasy. Did he already suspect we were on to him?Technically there was something wrong with the hunter, but not in a way that would require their help. I was out of ideas on what to say to convince both Cory and Nick that they were needed downstairs. I was just about to throw something random out when Kyra answered Nick instead.“When I was down with the hunter, I couldn’t get through to him. I went to get Caleb to find a way to get the hunter to talk. That is when I remembered Hunter telling me that Cory was probably the most skilled interrogator he has ever known. Caleb thought it best that you were with us as well. We are getting no where with him so we
Kyra-This was turning out to be a bigger pain than I thought it would be. For the past four hours, we have been trying to get Cory to talk. He hasn’t said anything, I do mean not one single word.So much for me having any sway over werewolves. He seemed unaffected by me at all, well other than he kept giving me a look of annoyance. Since Nick hadn’t been convinced that Cory was a spy for the hunters, we had to resort to placing wolfsbane in the air ducts to the room.Being that I was the only one unaffected by the wolfsbane, I had to go in myself to look at his hip. There was a one-way mirror in the room, with a small room connected to it. It allowed us to be able to see in the room, without Cory seeing us.Not only did it give us privacy to discuss things, but it also permitted us to be able to monitor him and communicate with him through some monitors. I could tell by the way Caleb was getting antsy that he wanted to torture it out of him.
Caleb-I think I was going to be sick to my stomach. As if Kyra became putty, I felt her soften towards Cory. I didn’t give a rat’s ass if his mate was a hunter or not. Coming in here to spy on our pack was unforgivable.“Why doesn’t your wolf want you?” Kyra asked, her voice much softer than it was just seconds ago.I will admit that he seemed a lot calmer than he had been, but the moment she asked the question she stiffened. This touchy-feely stuff with Cory was going to seriously make me vomit. Casting my gaze towards Kyra, I saw that there was real concern on her face.“As lovely and very disturbing this all is, we don’t need to know about his wolf or love interest.” I couldn’t help but roll my eyes as I spoke. “What we need to know is why he was here.” I added when I turned my attention back to Cory.“Because he asked me to.” He stated as if it was that simple.
Hunter-When I came to, it took me a minute to get my bearings. I had to run a mental run-through of everything I knew, just so I could make sure I didn’t lose my memory again. Then I remembered what I had been doing prior to everything going black on me.Rather, I remembered what was done to me. Now that I was thinking about it, I felt this burning sensation on my chest. As I focused on the burn, it increasingly became worse.Tearing at the shirt that I was wearing, I was a bit stunned when it ripped easily. I knew I was strong, but not like this. It had been like ripping paper. Without much, if any, effort the fabric gave way.Looking down at my chest, I saw a spiral branded on my chest. Touching it with my hand, I expected it to hurt, but it felt like it was already scarred over. With this kind of burn mark, I expected it to take months to heal and scar over.“Oh good. You are awake.” I heard Artemis’s voice from the door
Kyra-Over the past week, I feel as if things have become more stressful. We have gotten nowhere with Cory. Trav on the other hand has been a big help.He has given us a lot of information about the hunters, including some of their locations. To limit the number of hunters that could potentially attack, Caleb and Nick have been going to these locations to limit the possibility of them attacking us.Being that we didn’t know how many hunters were at each location, my brothers have been helping. It has been mostly Zac who has been the biggest help. We weren’t going to kill them all, well Nick had thought we should, but Trav said there were some werewolves amongst the hunters. They weren’t there on their own accord, so we were going to figure out a way to get them away from the hunters. From everything Trav has told us about the hunters, there were far more hunters than we thought there would be. Alec explained that hunters have been around
