Caleb-
“I messed up really bad.” Zeke said as we came to a large steel door.
There was a loud banging sound on the other side of the door, which sounded as if something was beating against it. At the top of the door, about eye level with me, was a small square metal panel that looked like it could be opened. Whatever was on the other side, sounded pissed.
“What do you mean?” I asked, unable to take my eyes off the door we were standing nearby.
“I am about to tell you something, but you must promise me that you will keep it to yourself. Kyra cannot know this. Can you give me your word?” He asked.
There was something in the way he spoke that had me taking my eyes off the door and redirecting them to him. It almost appeared as if he was sweating. Not only that but he looked as if he hasn’t slept in weeks or longer.
Whatever was going on with him, I was sure it wasn’t good. I also had a feeling it
Hunter-“Hurry up!” Artemis yelled for probably the tenth time.We were on our way to a place in Idaho to meet with someone. It wasn’t the reason I was dragging my feet though. Ever since we left Purgatory, something has been pulling me in a different direction. I couldn’t fathom what it was, all I knew is there was something I felt like I needed to do.“Why are we meeting up with this guy?” I asked, hoping to get an answer this time.“I guess there is no sense in not telling you. First, I will tell you that his name is Talon, he is Seraphine’s brother and the best chance we have of getting the help we need.” Artemis said with a sigh.“Best chance for what?” I asked as I stepped around a fallen tree, whereas Artemis just glided over it.“There is someone I need you to take care of, in order to do so though, you need to possess the powers of a God. While I can grant you p
Kyra-“What do you mean my father asked you to become the Alpha King?” I asked Caleb for the second time, hoping for an answer this time.Caleb had been gone for nearly two days, without me knowing where he had been. I had been going crazy with thinking he left again. Not once did he answer any of the texts or calls, I had made. When he had returned, I wasn’t sure if I had been relieved or just pissed that he took off. When he explained to me that my father had taken him somewhere, my anger had been directed at my father. That had been short-lived though when Caleb mentioned becoming Alpha King.“Your father wants to step down as Alpha King. He said he was tired of it and wanted to spend time with your mother. Not only that but he said he had to take care of some things.” Caleb said with a sigh. His shoulders sagged as if the weight of the world had been placed on them. I was torn between comforting him and getting mor
Caleb-Things have been crazy the past couple of days. Since the pack meeting, things have escalated at a fast rate. I still haven’t been able to get anywhere with the hunter we had in the basement. He still wasn’t telling me much of anything. His attitude was still the same, so I left him alone for the most part. Zeke has been working me into exhaustion with training, which I was thankful for, to be honest. Since I was now the new Alpha King, I was given more powers than the ones I apparently already possessed.Zeke has been showing me how it all works, as well as helping me tap into my own powers. It was still strange to me that I wasn’t just your run-of-the-mill werewolf like I always believed. I wasn’t as strong as Zeke or as powerful as Kyra, but I was starting to become familiar with things.According to Zeke, the reason I possessed a red energy source, unlike Kyra’s green or Zeke’s blue, is because we all had our
Caleb-“We can do this all night, I have plenty of time.” I told the hunter after breaking the last finger on his left hand.I never liked to use torture as a way to get what I wanted out of someone, but I wasn’t above it either. Especially after learning the guard that had been exposed to wolfsbane didn’t survive. Once I had Nick come to remove the body, I locked the doors to prevent anyone from coming down the stairs. There was only one I didn’t want to see me doing this though, that was Kyra. She was too good for this. I really didn’t want to expose her to this kind of darkness. Plus, I could still smell wolfsbane down here.I don’t know why it wasn’t affecting me. After searching for it, I still couldn’t locate the source either. However, I did do a thorough check on the hunter to make sure he wasn’t carrying anything else.“Go fuck yourself!” The hunter yelled out in pain.
Kyra-There was no excuse for what Caleb did. I didn’t care if the guy was a hunter or not. Torturing someone wasn’t the way to go. Maybe it was because I had been tortured and I hadn’t liked it.“If I let you go, you aren’t going to try anything are you?” I asked the hunter, just before unchaining his other hand.I have already released one of his hands, which he hasn’t tried anything yet, but that could also be because his fingers were all broken on that hand. I didn’t feel threatened by the hunter, which was a good thing. I have noticed that other creatures were calmer around me.He was human, so I didn’t understand why he would be calmer around me. He was though, I could feel it coming off him in waves. Was I wrong to suspect he was human though?“I won’t try anything.” The hunter echoed my words.“Good. Now, what is your name?” I asked as I unclasped the
Caleb-I was sitting on a hospital bed when Kyra found me. When she told me what she found out, I was a bit surprised. Not only was she able to get the information out of him so easily, but like her, I haven’t heard of a wolf being removed from a host.Just goes to show that I have been underestimating her. I have always known she was special, yet allowed myself to forget. From the start, I shouldn’t have tried keeping her out of it, in hopes of protecting her.“Is it possible to regain a wolf if neither of us thought it possible in the first place to have one removed?” I asked.Swinging my legs off the bed, I moved to stand up. I was feeling much better than I had a few hours ago. The wolfsbane was cleared out of my system completely, which was the reason I was acting so foolish before.“Stay.” Kyra said, moving towards the bed and placing her hand on my shoulder as she sat next to me on the bed. “I don&rs
Caleb-“It’s downstairs with the prisoner.” I said, trying to get Cory in the basement, so I could lock him up.“Is something wrong?” Nick asked.I wasn’t sure how to answer without giving something away. When I looked over at Cory, he seemed a bit uneasy. Did he already suspect we were on to him?Technically there was something wrong with the hunter, but not in a way that would require their help. I was out of ideas on what to say to convince both Cory and Nick that they were needed downstairs. I was just about to throw something random out when Kyra answered Nick instead.“When I was down with the hunter, I couldn’t get through to him. I went to get Caleb to find a way to get the hunter to talk. That is when I remembered Hunter telling me that Cory was probably the most skilled interrogator he has ever known. Caleb thought it best that you were with us as well. We are getting no where with him so we
Kyra-This was turning out to be a bigger pain than I thought it would be. For the past four hours, we have been trying to get Cory to talk. He hasn’t said anything, I do mean not one single word.So much for me having any sway over werewolves. He seemed unaffected by me at all, well other than he kept giving me a look of annoyance. Since Nick hadn’t been convinced that Cory was a spy for the hunters, we had to resort to placing wolfsbane in the air ducts to the room.Being that I was the only one unaffected by the wolfsbane, I had to go in myself to look at his hip. There was a one-way mirror in the room, with a small room connected to it. It allowed us to be able to see in the room, without Cory seeing us.Not only did it give us privacy to discuss things, but it also permitted us to be able to monitor him and communicate with him through some monitors. I could tell by the way Caleb was getting antsy that he wanted to torture it out of him.
Thank you everyone for being patient with me these last few months. Now that I have finished this book, I will focus on finishing my other books as quickly as possible that way I can get to work on the last book in the Trilogy. I hope to get it started by august, which will be exactly a year since I started this series. I am so grateful for all of you that have stuck by me and been supportive as I started my writing career. I will begin the third book as quickly as I can, but I will be focusing on one book at a time from here on out so that you don't have to wait endlessly for me to update each book. Please be sure to keep an eye out for the third book that will begin after I finish my other book, Alpha Ryker. The title of the third book in the Trilogy is... Moon Princess's Two Alpha Kings I hope you will all join me in the near future as I share how Kyra, Caleb, and Hunter will overcome the next part of their journey.
Artemis-I was livid, beyond anything I have ever felt before. That bitch thinks she could talk to me like that and get away with it? What was worse was my father was here and grilling me about what I was doing. It wasn’t like he had any proof, since he had found me in my room, that I stayed in when I was back home with him. I had sent another attack on the bitch and her pack before I left, thinking they would be able to handle them. Now I learn they not only failed but my father’s men had killed them all off.I shouldn’t have sent them all, because now I won’t be able to create more of them. The only one I had to blame was the fucking Moon Princess. I guess me whispering sweet promises into others' ears all these years have been for nothing. I should have just killed her when she was a baby. Then none of this would have happened. First, I let a worthless Alpha think I would grant him anything he would ever desire by killing her. Then I had had to resort to dealing with the disgusting
Kyra- We arrived at my mother’s house and the first thing I did was look for Max. At least here I knew we were safe. It wasn’t like Artemis could reach us here, at least I didn’t think so. “Mommy!” Max’s voice rang out as he came running down the stairs. A rush of joy filled me at seeing his little body running toward me. Even in just a brief time, he has become very dear to me, like I have known him his entire life. The best thing was that he acted as if I had been his mother since day one as well. Before Max had a chance to place his little feet on the bottom step, I scooped him into my arms and held him close. My tears came in an instant, and this time I didn’t mind. I was beyond happy to see him and know he was safe. “Hey, my little guy.” I whispered as I buried my face into the crook of his neck. “Are we going home now?” He asked, his voice filled with so much excitement that it made my chest hurt. Allowing the hug to linger just a moment longer, I lowered myself to the flo
Kyra-I was glad we talked, although I knew there was still much to figure out. Hunter was practically a stranger to me now. In theory, he was the same man I fell in love with, but he was different as well.Looking at the two men in front of me, I couldn’t believe my life has come to this. All I wanted to do was hold them close to me always. I still couldn’t wrap my head around Hunter being back just yet either.“Get outside now!” I heard my brother Zac yell urgently from the front door. Not wasting any time, I jumped from the couch just as Hunter and Caleb stood up. Together we ran outside to see what was going on. Just as our feet hit the ground in front of the house, I was thrown forward by a blast that knocked me yards away, flat on my face.My ears started ringing and my head was spinning. I heard a faint yelling coming from somewhere, but I couldn’t make it out over the ringing that was going on in my head. Having been thrown forward onto my stomach, I turned to my side to place
Kyra- Once inside, Caleb, Hunter, and I all sat around the living room. We all kept our distance from one another, which had been my idea so it would allow me to not be distracted by either of them. They both seemed inclined to wait for me to speak, which meant we were currently sitting here in silence. I knew we needed to talk, but I suddenly had no idea what to say. Or rather I didn’t know where to start. It isn’t like it has been very long since Hunter died, so one might think it would be easy to just jump right in. The issue now was the fact he didn’t remember anything about our life together. I needed to figure out how to handle this. It was clear that Caleb was letting me call the shots where Hunter was concerned, yet I didn’t know what to do. “I guess the first thing we need to discuss is what happened. At least what you remember. It would be helpful to know what you know and don’t know.” I spoke after a long drawn out silence. “I have told you some already, but I suppose
Kyra- “This isn’t over.” Artemis’s eyes narrowed on me as if I had suddenly become her enemy. In a way, I guess it wasn’t anything sudden, since it sounds as if she has been gunning for my family for a while now. The only difference now is that I knew about it and I wasn’t going to let her get away with it. I didn’t care how much more powerful she was than I was. Thanks to Darius, I now had full range of my powers, which meant I wasn’t going to back down without giving her everything I had. I knew by the laws of the Gods I couldn’t do much to her, but at the same time, I didn’t care. She came after the ones I loved dearly, and I will be damned if I let her get away with it. If a fight is what she wanted, she would get just that. It seemed as if she was worried about attacking me directly, since she thought it was a good idea to use my first mate to get to Caleb and my mother. It made sense because of the fact that if she was involved directly it would go against the laws set by th
Kyra- It didn’t take long for my father to return, when he did, he looked grim. I was just about to say something to him, but he put his hand up to stop me. His eyes moved between me, Hunter, and Caleb before he returned his attention to me. “What I am about to tell you, you will probably hate me for. Before I begin, I need you to understand it was never my intention to hurt you or anyone. When I had done what I did, I had done so out of anger. When it was no longer an issue though, I had thought nothing of it and completely forgot what I had done.” Zeke spoke, his words giving me this sense that I wasn’t going to like what he had to say. “I am sorry for interrupting, but I should probably add that I did know…” Caleb’s words were cut off when my father interrupted him. “No, what I have to say is not your fault at all. I had asked you to keep it between us because I didn’t want to upset her.” Zeke paused as he took a deep breath and then redirected back to me. “I have been tryin
Kyra-I wished Darius was staying, but I understood his desire not to get mixed up in this war more than he has already been. It would have been nice to get to know him some more though. There was one thing I was completely sure about though, with Hunter, we would stand together and face this new threat, just as Caleb said.“Very well, but I do hope you are making the right choice. When the time is right, I will return to get to know you.” Darius spoke, his eyes harboring a bit of regret. He then turned to Zac and a wide smile appeared on his face. “It is good to see you brother, it has been a long time.”“Yes, it has.” Zac returned his smile and then moved to stand directly in front of Darius. “If I had known…” His voice trailed off as he looked down at the ground.“Don’t think another minute of it.” Darius shook his head and pulled Zac into a brotherly hug. “It probably would have happened to one of us eventually. Artemis will stop at nothing to get to our mother.”“You could have r
Caleb-I wasn’t completely shocked by Hunter being alive, but I was surprised when he showed up. I still remember when Zeke had told me what he had done. I didn’t think it had been possible for Hunter to return like this, yet I couldn’t deny that I was glad he was back.I fully admit that this had put a kink in things, especially where Kyra was concerned. Things were complicated right now, but I would do anything to make her happy. Currently that was keeping this weird-ass creature away from Hunter. As I watched Kyra help Hunter, I felt mixed emotions. The one thing that stood out above all else, was that I was happy to see them like this. With him not remembering this it was different, but the look on Kyra’s face made me feel as if she was now whole. It was like until Hunter arrived, she had been broken inside. I couldn’t wait for this mess to be over with so we could discuss what to do next. First, we needed to do something with these disgusting creatures.“Now, tell me what is goin
