Hunter-
After all of these years of being careful, hunters managed to get through and ambush us. I have had patrols scanning the area around the clock. Yet they got through without anyone knowing. I wished that Kyra was here. Her abilities could have helped keep them at bay just a little longer.
Somehow they managed to keep us from being able to link with each other. I have been trying to get through to Caleb, but nothing has worked. I had my hands full with three wolves. I also couldn’t shift into Ace. I wasn’t sure if it was because of them or what. Either way, I was starting to think we were screwed.
Maybe it was a good thing Kyra and the kids weren’t here. The last thing I needed was to be worrying about them. I was cut off from everyone else that had been available to help during the attack. One minute they were there and the next time I turned around I was alone with three men trying to subdue me.
Unable to shift and to link with anyone else, I
Sorry for the delay in updating. I just cleared up my workload. I am still trying to finish up my other book, Contract Luna, but I will try harder to update this book more regularly. I just put my two weeks notice in at work, so I will be able to focus more on my writing.
Kyra-Something was wrong, I could feel it down to my very core. I should be happy that I was pregnant, Hunter and I talked about maybe having another one, and here I was, once again pregnant. Except I had this sense of dread wash over me at the words Alec spoke.I tried to link with Hunter, but I couldn’t get through. I tried linking with my father and only grew concerned that it went through easily.“I can’t get through to Hunter.” I spoke aloud. The room went silent and it looked as if they all were attempting to link. My fear something was going on only intensified when each of them came out of their dazed look with a concern of their own. It was unlike any block I have ever felt. There seemed to be some sort of static sound every time I tried.“I am sure everything is okay.” My mother tried to reassure me, but I could see the worry on her features. No, it wasn’t okay and I knew I needed to get h
Caleb-For the first time in a long time, I was right here with Kyra. If it weren’t for the fact I just lost my best friend and she was experiencing so much pain that I could feel it, I would be happy. Getting up off ground, where I had been thrown, I made my way towards Kyra. She hadn’t seemed to hear me when I attempted to get her attention. Either that or she was not listening. This was the vision Alec had told me about. I looked around and found Alec sitting on a mound of dirt, watching Kyra.In fact, everyone was just sitting on the ground where they had been blasted and just watching her. None of them were trying to get close to her. Ignoring them, I continued my way towards her. I needed to do something for her. There had to be a way to take away her pain or just help her.“Skittle Bear.” I tried again.Still, she didn’t seem to hear me. My heart broke seeing her like this. When I got near her, I came to a stop.
Kyra- This can’t be real, it just can’t. When I left, I had been happy, then I find out I am pregnant, and everything seemed perfect. How could everything go so wrong, so quickly? This had to be a nightmare and I needed to wake up. I don’t know how long I have been sitting here. My legs felt numb and tingly everything about me felt numb. Every so often I thought I could hear Caleb’s voice, but I figured that maybe I was just trying to hold onto something that wasn’t there so I could find a way to cope with what was really happening. As much as I tried, I didn’t think Caleb would ever return, at least not for me. Maybe it was time I just let him go. It was obvious he wanted nothing to do with me any longer. In all these years, he made it clear he had no intention to respond to me. If it hadn’t been for the fact Hunter and he kept contact, I would have thought maybe he just hadn’t heard me. I needed to stop thinking about Caleb, it was bad enough I lost
Caleb-It has been fourteen hours since I brought Kyra inside. She has not moved at all, just slept, or at least I think she was sleeping. The comatose state she was in wasn’t natural. This wasn’t the first time I have witnessed someone losing their mate, but this was the first time I have seen someone respond like this.Instead of taking her to her room, I had placed her on the couch. I wanted to keep an eye on her and hoped that if she was surrounded by family it would help. While I watched her, I worried that she wasn’t going to come out of this. If it weren’t for the slight rise and fall of her chest, I wouldn’t think she was even breathing.Everyone took turns sitting with her, just holding her hand to let her know they were there. I, on the other hand, haven’t left her side, other than to use the restroom at times. There was no way I was going to chance not being here when she woke up.It wasn’t as if I thou
Caleb-“Honestly, I am not sure, but it seems as if Hunter’s wolf found a way to connect to her. It isn’t the same as ours, meaning she can’t shift or anything into him, but he is fully present within her mind. I can sense him just as I can sense your wolf.” Tristan said.Nothing he was saying was making any sense to me. Never in my life have I heard of a wolf spirit transferring to another. Then again, I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised if what he was saying was true. When it came to Kyra, I have learned to accept the impossible. Was it because of Hunter’s wolf that Kyra was the way she was?“Can you connect to Ace?” I asked Maddox, thinking maybe there was a way to find out what was going on.“I can.” My wolf responded after a few minutes.“See if you can find out what is going on.” I said, wishing more than anything that I was able to hear what Ace was saying.
Caleb-“Are you okay?” I heard Zeke’s voice ask.Still outside on my hands and knees, I was trying to catch my bearings. My tears have long dried up, but I had stayed as I was. Once my vertigo had passed, I was feeling better, but the pain in my heart was still very much there.“I am fine.” I said, barely above a whisper.“Don’t lie to me.” Zeke said, sounding as if he was getting closer. With my eyes closed, I pushed myself back until I was sitting on the heels of my feet. The simple movement made it feel as if all the blood just rushed to my head. I wasn’t sure how long I had been like I was, but I must have been a while. When the feeling passed, I opened my eyes and found Zeke standing just a few feet away.“What do you want?” I asked.“I thought I would check on you and see how you were doing.” Zeke spoke.I knew I was being difficult, but now I j
Caleb-“I can see you are mad.” Zeke said, without giving me an answer to my question.“Mad? That isn’t even remotely close to what I am feeling. I am pissed. Because I listened to you, I thought that it was better for everyone that I left. If I would have known it was something else, I would have never left in the first place. Now because of what you told me, as well as the secrets you and Selene like to keep, I learn that I just spent the last two centuries nearly, alone. I hurt Kyra and Hunter because none of you could tell me the truth.” I yelled, standing up from the couch until I was practically towering over Zeke.“It isn’t his fault.” I heard Selene say, but when I turned around to confront her, I didn’t see her.“Where the fuck are you?” I yelled, no longer caring that I was ready to give in to the rage that was consuming me.“I will not reveal myself until you are cal
Kyra-My mind was still in a fog when I woke up, or at least I thought I had woken up. Now I wasn’t so sure. The first thing I saw was Caleb’s face when I opened my eyes, so I thought maybe I was dreaming or something. It has been a long time since I saw him, so I wasn’t sure if what I was seeing was real.Maybe I just needed to sit up, to wake up. As much as I wanted to see Caleb, I didn’t know if I could handle it right now. I felt numb like my body and mind were shut down. No doubt I was in shock still, but at least now I wasn’t breaking down.It was bad enough that I keep hearing Ace in my head, like a constant reminder that Hunter was no longer here. I don’t know how it is possible, but I can feel Ace in the same way I felt Alexia when I had her. Okay, maybe not in the same way.Sitting up, I kept my eyes on Caleb. He moved back slightly to give me room to get up, but after blinking a few more times, he was still h
Thank you everyone for being patient with me these last few months. Now that I have finished this book, I will focus on finishing my other books as quickly as possible that way I can get to work on the last book in the Trilogy. I hope to get it started by august, which will be exactly a year since I started this series. I am so grateful for all of you that have stuck by me and been supportive as I started my writing career. I will begin the third book as quickly as I can, but I will be focusing on one book at a time from here on out so that you don't have to wait endlessly for me to update each book. Please be sure to keep an eye out for the third book that will begin after I finish my other book, Alpha Ryker. The title of the third book in the Trilogy is... Moon Princess's Two Alpha Kings I hope you will all join me in the near future as I share how Kyra, Caleb, and Hunter will overcome the next part of their journey.
Artemis-I was livid, beyond anything I have ever felt before. That bitch thinks she could talk to me like that and get away with it? What was worse was my father was here and grilling me about what I was doing. It wasn’t like he had any proof, since he had found me in my room, that I stayed in when I was back home with him. I had sent another attack on the bitch and her pack before I left, thinking they would be able to handle them. Now I learn they not only failed but my father’s men had killed them all off.I shouldn’t have sent them all, because now I won’t be able to create more of them. The only one I had to blame was the fucking Moon Princess. I guess me whispering sweet promises into others' ears all these years have been for nothing. I should have just killed her when she was a baby. Then none of this would have happened. First, I let a worthless Alpha think I would grant him anything he would ever desire by killing her. Then I had had to resort to dealing with the disgusting
Kyra- We arrived at my mother’s house and the first thing I did was look for Max. At least here I knew we were safe. It wasn’t like Artemis could reach us here, at least I didn’t think so. “Mommy!” Max’s voice rang out as he came running down the stairs. A rush of joy filled me at seeing his little body running toward me. Even in just a brief time, he has become very dear to me, like I have known him his entire life. The best thing was that he acted as if I had been his mother since day one as well. Before Max had a chance to place his little feet on the bottom step, I scooped him into my arms and held him close. My tears came in an instant, and this time I didn’t mind. I was beyond happy to see him and know he was safe. “Hey, my little guy.” I whispered as I buried my face into the crook of his neck. “Are we going home now?” He asked, his voice filled with so much excitement that it made my chest hurt. Allowing the hug to linger just a moment longer, I lowered myself to the flo
Kyra-I was glad we talked, although I knew there was still much to figure out. Hunter was practically a stranger to me now. In theory, he was the same man I fell in love with, but he was different as well.Looking at the two men in front of me, I couldn’t believe my life has come to this. All I wanted to do was hold them close to me always. I still couldn’t wrap my head around Hunter being back just yet either.“Get outside now!” I heard my brother Zac yell urgently from the front door. Not wasting any time, I jumped from the couch just as Hunter and Caleb stood up. Together we ran outside to see what was going on. Just as our feet hit the ground in front of the house, I was thrown forward by a blast that knocked me yards away, flat on my face.My ears started ringing and my head was spinning. I heard a faint yelling coming from somewhere, but I couldn’t make it out over the ringing that was going on in my head. Having been thrown forward onto my stomach, I turned to my side to place
Kyra- Once inside, Caleb, Hunter, and I all sat around the living room. We all kept our distance from one another, which had been my idea so it would allow me to not be distracted by either of them. They both seemed inclined to wait for me to speak, which meant we were currently sitting here in silence. I knew we needed to talk, but I suddenly had no idea what to say. Or rather I didn’t know where to start. It isn’t like it has been very long since Hunter died, so one might think it would be easy to just jump right in. The issue now was the fact he didn’t remember anything about our life together. I needed to figure out how to handle this. It was clear that Caleb was letting me call the shots where Hunter was concerned, yet I didn’t know what to do. “I guess the first thing we need to discuss is what happened. At least what you remember. It would be helpful to know what you know and don’t know.” I spoke after a long drawn out silence. “I have told you some already, but I suppose
Kyra- “This isn’t over.” Artemis’s eyes narrowed on me as if I had suddenly become her enemy. In a way, I guess it wasn’t anything sudden, since it sounds as if she has been gunning for my family for a while now. The only difference now is that I knew about it and I wasn’t going to let her get away with it. I didn’t care how much more powerful she was than I was. Thanks to Darius, I now had full range of my powers, which meant I wasn’t going to back down without giving her everything I had. I knew by the laws of the Gods I couldn’t do much to her, but at the same time, I didn’t care. She came after the ones I loved dearly, and I will be damned if I let her get away with it. If a fight is what she wanted, she would get just that. It seemed as if she was worried about attacking me directly, since she thought it was a good idea to use my first mate to get to Caleb and my mother. It made sense because of the fact that if she was involved directly it would go against the laws set by th
Kyra- It didn’t take long for my father to return, when he did, he looked grim. I was just about to say something to him, but he put his hand up to stop me. His eyes moved between me, Hunter, and Caleb before he returned his attention to me. “What I am about to tell you, you will probably hate me for. Before I begin, I need you to understand it was never my intention to hurt you or anyone. When I had done what I did, I had done so out of anger. When it was no longer an issue though, I had thought nothing of it and completely forgot what I had done.” Zeke spoke, his words giving me this sense that I wasn’t going to like what he had to say. “I am sorry for interrupting, but I should probably add that I did know…” Caleb’s words were cut off when my father interrupted him. “No, what I have to say is not your fault at all. I had asked you to keep it between us because I didn’t want to upset her.” Zeke paused as he took a deep breath and then redirected back to me. “I have been tryin
Kyra-I wished Darius was staying, but I understood his desire not to get mixed up in this war more than he has already been. It would have been nice to get to know him some more though. There was one thing I was completely sure about though, with Hunter, we would stand together and face this new threat, just as Caleb said.“Very well, but I do hope you are making the right choice. When the time is right, I will return to get to know you.” Darius spoke, his eyes harboring a bit of regret. He then turned to Zac and a wide smile appeared on his face. “It is good to see you brother, it has been a long time.”“Yes, it has.” Zac returned his smile and then moved to stand directly in front of Darius. “If I had known…” His voice trailed off as he looked down at the ground.“Don’t think another minute of it.” Darius shook his head and pulled Zac into a brotherly hug. “It probably would have happened to one of us eventually. Artemis will stop at nothing to get to our mother.”“You could have r
Caleb-I wasn’t completely shocked by Hunter being alive, but I was surprised when he showed up. I still remember when Zeke had told me what he had done. I didn’t think it had been possible for Hunter to return like this, yet I couldn’t deny that I was glad he was back.I fully admit that this had put a kink in things, especially where Kyra was concerned. Things were complicated right now, but I would do anything to make her happy. Currently that was keeping this weird-ass creature away from Hunter. As I watched Kyra help Hunter, I felt mixed emotions. The one thing that stood out above all else, was that I was happy to see them like this. With him not remembering this it was different, but the look on Kyra’s face made me feel as if she was now whole. It was like until Hunter arrived, she had been broken inside. I couldn’t wait for this mess to be over with so we could discuss what to do next. First, we needed to do something with these disgusting creatures.“Now, tell me what is goin
