SELENA’S POV

I knew I should have utilized any opportunity in my favor. Yes, I was well aware I should have ran out of the Silver moon pack while I still could, but something more important held me back.

It wouldn't make any sense if I had gone to the only place I could call my home, which was Kai's pack, without achieving as little as a fraction of the main reason I intruded this pack in the first place.

I knew it would be impossible to exert revenge on my own despite my amazing powers and new magic skills—no, those weren't enough. I needed an army to counter Damon's forces. But a war couldn't be declared officially if I had no evidence against Damon.

All I needed now were proofs. If I got caught, then so be it. I would be counting on Kai to be my savior once more.

A stolen cloak that was too large for my body, hung over my shoulders, hiding my identity. I pulled the hood lower as I approached the gate, the sound of chatter from the guards disturbing the silent evening.

My eyelids felt heavy like iron, but the voice, that deep and familiar voice kept me fighting to open them.“Selena,” It called again, in a more urgent tone now. When I finally blinked my eyes open, I saw him. Relief washed over like a wave when I saw that it was Kai.“I'm not dreaming, am I?” My voice was hoarse, barely audible as I stared at those eyes that used to be so warm when they were on me, but now they were blazing with fury. “No, Selena. I'm here for you.” His face was pressed against the cold iron bars of the cell.Tears blurred my vision as I blinked, unsure if he was real or it was my desperate mind playing his images in my head. “Kai... how did you find me?”He didn’t answer. Instead, he gripped the padlock that secured the cell door. With a single, effortless pull, he snapped it open, the clanging sound echoing through the damp walls. The scent of blood travelled in the air when he stepped ins

ELARA’S POVPower was a curious, insatiable desire. It was really tempting, whispering sweet promises that clouded my vision. And for me, Elara, power has always been one thing that truly mattered.Damon had always been an obstacle lately, blocking my ambition to rule over the Silver moon pack. He once trusted me, relied on me even. But lately, his suspicion had grown sharper. Damon hadn’t touched my potions in due time now, and he avoided me like a ghost he couldn’t quite get rid of.But I was not a woman to be ignored.Tonight, as I stood outside his chamber, I could hear the muffled voices of Damon and Silas through the thick oak door. They conversed in secret languages, hinting that their words were meant to stay hidden from prying ears. They should have known better than to try to exclude me.With one twisting of my wrist, the door’s locks clicked open. Once I was able to push it inward slowly, Damon and Silas turned their heads in unison, their faces expressing shock and annoyan

Kai’s POVThe journey to find the ancient shaman with Selena was turning out to be more than I had anticipated. Every step we took seemed to be marked by chaos that neither of us could fully control. Her powers were unpredictable, gushing out without any warning. We had left so many scorched bushes and burnt branches behind. At first, I thought it was amusing. Now, I wasn’t so sure.“How many does that make now?” I teased, watching as the remains of a once-green grass turned to ash under her accidental firebolt.Selena, standing surprised in the devastation she had caused, wiped her hands on her tunic, her face flushed with frustration. “I don’t know! I’ve lost count, okay?”Nyx chuckled darkly in my mind. ‘She’s like a ticking bomb.’ He said. ‘One day she'll burn us both to ash.’“Not helping, Nyx,” I muttered under my breath.Selena’s sharp ears caught my words. She turned around, her bright eyes narrowing to my direction. “What was that?”“Nothing,” I replied smoothly, raising my

lDAMON’S POVThat fool. No, those fools. Those two imbeciles—Gideon and Elara— played games they weren’t quite equipped to win. I leaned back on the black obsidian throne carved for me by my ancestors, the room filled with shadow and blood-red light cast by torches lining the walls. My wolf stirred restlessly in my mind, as agitated as I was, though for different reasons.‘Gideon was nothing but a pawn,’ my wolf snarled, his voice resounding in my head. ‘Elara, on the other hand… she’s more cunning than we gave her credit for.’I clenched my fists, the leather of my gloves creaking under the pressure. “She’s a snake,” I growled aloud, my voice reverberating through the chamber. “And snakes get their heads cut off.”Gideon…His name churned in my mind like acid, burning away what little patience I had left. The fool had dared come to me, offering already known information about his sister, Selena. He had spilled secrets as if his tongue was coated in oil, each word confirming my suspic

  • Moon Fire Reborn    CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR

SELENA’S POVI wasn’t sure how long we had been walking, but the tension that had grown in the air was as suffocating as ever. The forest had been so quiet, the only sound coming from the crunch of leaves beneath our boots and the occasional rush of wind that sent chills down my spine. Sometimes, I even anticipated more assassins to attack us, but after the last one, we had been alone. What was annoying the most was Kai’s sudden turn to a stoic alpha as he led the way.“Are you sure we are even on the right path?” I asked, saying anything that broke the silence that had grown unbearable. My voice sounded weird even to me.Kai didn’t turn around to answer my question, he continued walking. “He’s here. The elders we asked were clear with the directions. Stop doubting my instincts.”“I’m not doubting you,” I muttered, though I was. “I’m just saying this feels like we are chasing air. What if he doesn’t want to be found?”Kai glanced over his shoulder, his sharp blue eyes narrowing at me

KAI'S POVThe forest always seemed darker when I was in enemy territory. Nyx was even restless in his space, pacing back and forth in the back of my mind.‘This is a mistake, Kai. She’s too stubborn for her own good.’ Nyx said to me.“Like I don’t already know that,” I muttered under my breath in reply.Selena was walking ahead of me with large strides, her shoulders looked tensed but her chin was held high in so much confidence. She was too proud to admit she was scared, but I could see the fear in the way she clenched her fists.‘If she dies because of this, it’s on you.’Nyx’s voice growled, echoing in my head.“She’s not going to die,” I replied firmly, though the thought sent a jolt of unease through me. “I won’t let that happen.”Nyx huffed but didn’t respond. He had made his opinion clear when Selena first proposed this reckless plan.****It had started back when we got back home. We had barely recovered from the journey when Selena turned to me, her eyes glistening with a dan

  • Moon Fire Reborn    CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX

SELENA'S POVThe halls of the Silver Moon pack’s compound were so silent that it was eery. The only sounds that echoed through were from the soft sound of my boots against the polished floors. My pulse thundered in my ears, and though I tried to mask my fear, my hands trembled slightly as I pushed open another door. The room was empty.I let out a breath, feeling a brief moment of relief. But I didn’t have time to relax. I had to find the spell book and the documents I had found earlier before anyone realized I was here.‘You’re walking straight into a trap,’ Celestia, whispered in my head. Her voice was sharp and laced with disapproval for this risk. Everyone disapproved of it.“You’ve said that a dozen times,” I muttered under my breath.‘And I’ll keep saying it until you stop being so reckless. What happens if you get caught? Kai won’t be able to save you in time before you get slaughtered.’Her words stung more than I cared to admit, but I didn’t have the time of second-guessing

KAI'S POVThe first thing I became aware of was my hands that was wrapped tightly around Selena’s neck, choking the life out of her.No.I stumbled back as I had been scarred by hot water, my hands shaking violently. Selena gasped for air, collapsing to the ground as she coughed and panted for breath. When I looked down on myself, I realized that my body was drenched in sweat, and my heart pounded so loudly it distracted every other thoughts in my head.“Selena,” I called, my voice coming out hoarse as reached out to her. “I—I didn’t mean to—”She scrambled away from me, her eyes wide and filled with a fear I had never seen before. It tore through me like a blade on my skin.“What’s wrong with you?” she whispered, her voice trembling as she pressed a hand to her the point I had strangled on her throat.“I didn’t… I wasn’t in control,” I stammered, taking a hesitant step toward her. When she flinched, it was like a slap to my face. “Selena, I swear, it wasn’t me.”The doubt was evident

  • Moon Fire Reborn    EPILOGUE

SELENA’S POVI stood on the balcony of the Alpha’s quarters, my hands resting on the curve of my swollen belly as the cool breeze kissed my skin. I watched the moon hanging brightly in the night sky, casting a soft silver glow over the Silvermoon pack.I couldn’t sleep—not with the way my wolf kept pacing anxiously in my head and my mate snoring softly beside me. Celestia, as restless as ever, kept nudging me with her thoughts. ‘You need to sit down before you tip over.’ She suggested like she was a fairy godmother.‘I’m fine,’ I shot back, but I wasn’t even really convinced. My back ached all over, my feet were swollen, and this baby—our baby—was practically trying to kick his way out. I glanced behind me, smiling at the sight of Kai sprawled out on the bed. His dark hair was a mess, and his bare chest rose and fell steadily with each breath. My Alpha. My mate. And soon-to-be dad. The thought sent a ripple of excitement and fear through me. What if I messed this up? What if I w

SELENA’S POVRenn sat on the grass floor with his back against the wall. His knees were bent to meet his chest and his elbows rested on them like the weight of the world was pressing down on his shoulders. And honestly? It probably was. I lowered myself beside him so we could be at the same height, and immediately I sat, I felt the cool floor press against my thighs through the thin material of my dress. Kai didn’t look at me right away, but I waited for him to.. I knew better than to rush someone who was grieving. “Hey.” My voice was carefully soft. “You okay?” He scoffed. “Do I look okay?” “Fair point.” I picked at a loose thread on my sleeve, letting the silence stretch just long enough before I added, “But you do look better than you did five minutes ago. That's a huge progress, right?” Renn didn’t laugh, but the corner of his mouth twitched slightly. “You’re trying too hard.” “Yeah, well, it’s what I do.” I nudged his shoulder with mine. “Someone’s gotta keep you from

KAI’S POVI wasn’t drunk. I wasn't even close to being drunk. But I kind of wished I was—because dealing with Renn right now? Yeah, it was the kind of emotional wreckage I was facing at the moment that made me crave something strong enough to burn down the ache.“Renn,” I said softly, crouching beside him as he slumped against the back wall of the hall. His eyes had red rims around them, his shirt was wrinkled, and his knuckles were bruised probably from punching something he shouldn’t have. Or someone. With Renn, you could never tell.He wiped at his face, but it didn’t help much. “Don’t look at me like that.”“Like what?”“Like I’m pathetic.”“I’m not,” I said, even though he kind of was. “I’m looking at you like you’re a guy who’s hurting. Big difference.”He laughed, but it came out sharp and bitter. “You don’t get it, Kai. You don’t get any of this.”I leaned against the wall beside him, giving him space but not enough to let him feel alone. “So explain it to me.”He turned his

  • Moon Fire Reborn    CHAPTER NINETY-SIX

SELENA’S POVDamn it, I was losing my mind. Okay, maybe not in the literal sense, but it sure felt like it. The party was in full swing mode. There were lights illuminating the hall, people dancing carelessly, music vibrating through the ground, and voices blending into a chaotic hum of laughter and chatter. Wolves from every corner of the Silver moon territory were here, dressed to impress, smiling like tonight held all their dreams wrapped up in glitter ribbons. And maybe it did. Because tonight wasn’t just a random party—It was ‘the’ party. The one where celestial bonds would be sealed, mates would be chosen, and vows would be made under the blessing of the Moon Goddess. Also—this party was the one where I would officially be announced as Kai’s… Luna. No pressure, right? I sat on the throne beside Kai, my back so straight it was probably illegal. The chair was huge, carved from dark wood and draped in silver silk that looked like moonlight had been woven into it. It

  • Moon Fire Reborn    CHAPTER NINETY-FIVE

SELENA’S POVI had no idea what I was doing.Okay, that was a lie.I knew exactly what I was doing. I was taking a risk—no, scratch that—I was diving with my head first into something that could either shatter me or make me whole. And yet, with Kai sitting across from me, his hand holding mine and his eyes pulling me so deep into his world, I couldn’t make myself care about the side effects of all of this. Not when he looked at me like this. Not when his touch made me have goosebumps all over my skin like the air before a storm.I swallowed nothing, staring at the sharp lines of his jaw, the way the moonlight kissed his cheekbones and made his eyes glow brightly. Kai wasn’t perfect. Hell, he wasn’t even close, no one was. But there was something about his imperfections, I meant his invincible scars, his family history, that made me feel safe. And maybe that was dangerous, but I didn’t care.I shouldn't even care about it tonight.“Say it again,” I whispered. His brows furrowed. “Say w

  • Moon Fire Reborn    CHAPTER NINETY-FOUR

KAI’S POVThe Silvermoon Pack’s village square was jam-packed with people, and for once, I was grateful it wasn’t for a fight. They all stood shoulder to shoulder, my rogues and Silvermoon wolves blending into one ocean of tired faces. Their clothes were stained, some with dirt, others with dried blood, but despite the wreckage the war had left behind, there was something else in the air that was heavier than exhaustion.I sensed hope.I didn’t know what the hell to do with that, though.I stepped forward, clearing my throat to address them all. “First of all—” My voice cracked, and I internally shook my head. ‘Great start, Alpha,’ Nyx mocked. ‘Real inspiring.’I tried again, ignoring him. “First of all,” I said, louder this time, “we won.”That got their attention. The werewolves straightened their backs. Some of them raised their heads higher. I wasn’t sure if it was pride or disbelief that shimmered in their eyes, but it didn’t matter. They were listening.“We won,” I repeated, my

  • Moon Fire Reborn    CHAPTER NINETY-THREE

SELENA'S POVWe buried Yasmine under the shade of an ancient oak tree. The shaman said it was the closest spot to the goddess’s light—whatever that meant. I didn’t question his words at all. Not when Renn looked like he was one wrong word away from losing his mind completely. He stood by her grave, silent and pale the whole time, his hands shaking as he placed a white lily on the mound of fresh loamy soil. The rest of us stood back, giving him space to mourn his mate because It didn’t feel right to interrupt his grieving moment, but at the same time, I wanted to say something, or anything to make it better.I didn’t, though.Because nothing would ever make him feel better. The shaman, the old man with silver braids and piercing green eyes, hovered around nearby. His staff sank slightly into the ground as he stepped forward, clearing his throat before he spoke. “Renn,” he said softly, “is there anything else you wish to ask before we seal her spirit’s path?”He didn’t answer at first.

  • Moon Fire Reborn    CHAPTER NINETY-TWO

SELENA'S POVI didn’t even know what to feel now that the war was finally over. The battlefield that had once vibrated with screams, roars, and explosions of magic, was now eerily silent. It was too silent. The atmosphere now felt heavier than it should. Every air that I inhaled was thick with the scent of smoke, blood, and something more worse. Grief took over the whole atmosphere.I turned around slowly, my boots sinking into the mud that had mixed with blood and shattered remains of dark spells. My heart pounded in my chest as my gaze swept over the entire battlefield. Bodies laid scattered across the ground, some were our friends, and some foes, but they were all lifeless. I came to the conclusion that this wasn't a victory—it was survival. And barely that because we were the only three people that survived. All other soldiers, who were probably husbands and fathers, had all laid their lives down for me.I saw Renn on his knees, hunched over Yasmine’s pale and broken body like he

NARRATEDDamon didn’t see it coming at all.His aim was at her because one moment Selena had turned her back, her focus now locked on Elara. But in the next moment, when he lunged forward like an unchained beast with desperation burning in his eyes, Kai met him with a faster energy.Their bodies collided with a bone-crunching impact, and the ground made a thud sound beneath their weights. Damon roared, his dark magic losing its control within him, but Kai met him blow for blow, his claws ripping through Damon's fur and flesh like they were paper.“You’re done!” Kai growled angrily, his voice coming out with a furious thone as he grinded his teeth against each other.Damon grinned despite the blood dripping from his mouth. “Not yet.”He shoved Kai off him, sending him flying backwards, but Kai was already moving again. His wolf surged forward, becoming wild as it slammed into Damon before he could fully recover.Selena turned at the direction of the scuffling sound, her chest tightenin
