SELENA’S POV

So there I was, tied up like some damsel in distress, watching Kai go full beast mode on Silas. The ropes dug into my wrists, burning and biting with every movement I made, but watching my mate break free? Totally worth it.

That smug jerk’s body was spread on the ground as he coughed and spat out blood when Kai loomed over him. His face was twisted in that classic villain look, the kind that says, ‘I should’ve won this, but I didn’t plan for the part where you would fight back.’

“You don’t understand what you’ve unleashed,” Silas growled, his voice shaky but still laced with arrogance. “You can’t control it. You can’t control me.”

I couldn't believe that even in his devastating state, he would still be choking out nonsense about how Kai didn't know about his own power. Typical monologue. But Kai? He wasn't having the least of it.

Kai grinded his teeth, his eyes glowing with an intense kind of energy. It wasn’t just anger anymore in those eyes—I could see something prima

DAMON’S POVThe stench of blood and failure was all wafted in the air like a bitter perfume as I stepped into Silas' shrine. Right next to the altar, he laid like a discarded puppet, crumpled on the ground, barely conscious, face bloodied and bruised. For a man who had promised me so much, he looked more like a battered animal than the cunning strategist I had reluctantly trusted.“What a fool you are,” I growled, my voice cold and sharp enough to cut through any metal. My wolf, Demon, growled low in my mind, his disdain echoing my own. ‘This is the man you chose to align with? Pathetic.’“Silas!” My voice snapped across the clearing like a whip. He stirred in his unconsciousness, groaning as his broken body attempted to rise. “Look at you. You dared to carry out a plan behind my back, and this—this is the result? You have failed me!”Silas coughed, blood spilling from his lips. His gaze met mine, filled with defeat and desperation. “You don’t understand,” he coughed again. “I was so

ELARA’S POV“Honestly, Sera, if I have to listen to Damon rant about Selena one more time, I’m going to vomit up hexes.”My voice echoed through the dimly lit cavern, the flickering candles casting shadows that made the place feel like a budget horror movie set. Seraphina, my talking green snake coiled lazily on my wrist, flicking her tongue like she was over it, too. Her scales were cold against my skin and her green eyes glowed faintly in the light.Seraphina had been my only trustworthy companion and I was glad she woke up from her brumation today, how much I had missed her.“I get your heartbreak, Elara, but this is a terrible idea,” she hissed, her tongue flicking out nervously. “The clone spell is unstable, and the dream trap—well, you know what happened the last time you tried that.”“Shut up, Sera,” I snapped, not bothering to look at her although I meant no harshness. “I know what I’m doing.”“Do you?” she challenged, her voice laced with doubt. “Or are you just desperate be

KAI’S POV“Okay, Nyx, explain this to me like I’m five,” I muttered, squinting at the glowing artifact in my hands. My ever-so-dramatic wolf let out a long sigh in my head. “It’s simple, Kai. The Moon Goddess meddled with your life because she has an appetite for chaos. Honestly, I’m starting to think she binge-watches reality TV in her spare time.”I groaned, running a hand through my hair. The artifact which had an appearance of a smooth obsidian stone sparkling with glowing silver runes felt warm in my hands, vibrating like it had a heartbeat. I had gone back the next morning to where Silas almost got us killed. I really had no reason at all for reaching the shrine, but maybe that soft part of me wanted to be sure I hadn't killed my own father. And to my relief, it was as though the event never happened because the clearing had been so clean that I could swear it was a forbidden land. But on my way back, my eyes had caught this very artifact tucked away in a hidden area back at th

SELENA’S POVNow before I begin the narration, let me introduce this part of the story by saying: I was not prepared for what the Moon Goddess had in store for me. One second, I was perfectly fine—well, not fine-fine because Kai had been acting like a complete weirdo after our last kiss, but I was still manageable fine. And the next second?I was in a void. A freaking void! Like, void-void. Black nothingness. No stars, no ground, no “Welcome to the afterlife” signs. Just… emptiness.“Hello?” My voice echoed, which was weird because there was literally nothing around to echo off of.I got no answer. Not from my wolf, not from anyone.Panic swirled up my chest, itching at my throat. “Celestia? Where the hell are you?!”All I got was silence.Oh, very great. No wolf, no powers, and no clue of what was happening. I would 10/10 not recommend this experience to anyone.I tried to take a step forward—or at least what I thought was forward—only to feel like I was drunk with strong whiskey. E

SELENA’S POVLet me back up for a second. I had decided officially that this was hell. Not the fire-and-brimstone kind with little red dudes poking you with pitchforks. No. This was worse.Because this was my own personal horror movie, and I was the only actor.I thought waking up in a blank space was bad. I thought seeing Kai kiss some fake version of me was worse. But this? This was a whole new level of “nope, I’m out.”When I woke up—or at least, I thought I woke up—I was in my room. My actual room. My bed, my stupid fairy lights, even the half-empty bag of chips I had forgotten about on my desk.“Was it… a dream?” I whispered, my voice shaky as hell.I sat up, looking around like a psycho trying to find the hidden cameras. Nope, everything seemed normal. The sunlight poured through my curtains, the smell of pine wood and lavender from my diffuser wafted through the air. All good. All fine. But then, a knock came at my door.“Selena, are you up?”It was my mom’s voice. Or at least,

KAI’S POVI was in my cabin, sitting on the edge of my couch, staring at her.I meant Selena—or at least, the version of her that made my wolf go completely wild.“Why are you looking at me like that?” she asked, a soft laugh escaping her lips. She tilted her head, her hair shining in the dim light like some cheesy rom-com heroine.“I’m just… trying to figure you out,” I said, forcing out a smirk. Though inside? Oh, I was losing my mind.‘Nyx, you sure this is really not our mate?’ I asked for the fiftieth time today.Nyx growled dangerously in the back of my mind. ‘What can I say? I am fed up with arguing over that same question. Since she smells like her, she feels like her. Then it’s her, idiot.’‘Yeah? Well, she also acts like a completely different person,’ I shot back. ‘Selena doesn’t sit on my lap every five seconds or touch me like—’“Earth to Kai?” Her voice snapped me out of it.She was standing in front of me now, way too close. I could smell her; I could perceive those lav

ELARA’S POVStanding in my dimly lit cavern, I couldn’t help but smirk. Selena’s screams echoed around me like a symphony. It was loud, piercing, and full of desperation, but it was just so melodious in my ears.“Pathetic,” I muttered, leaning against the blackened wall. My fingers brushed along the edge of the mirror’s shimmering surface where I had the view of Selena’s futile struggles in the void I trapped her soul into. “All that big talk about being the chosen Luna, and now look at you. A broken little doll trapped in my playhouse.”Selena’s fiery eyes glared at me through the rippling darkness, her fists pounding against the invisible walls of the void. Every hit she made sent tiny sparks scattering into the room like dying stars. That was cute.“Elara!” she screamed, her voice rough from hours of yelling. “You’ll regret this! You can’t—”“Oh, I can’t?” I interrupted, tilting my head mockingly. “I already have, babe. You’re the one stuck in a magical void while I’m out here… thr

SELENA’S POVIf there was one thing I had learned about being stuck in a literal hellscape, it was that time stops mattering. The void wasn’t just a place; it was a prison, a suffocating bubble of nothingness that pressed in on me from all sides.“Elara!” I screamed again, pounding my fists against the invisible barrier. My voice came out raw, hoarse from hours—days? Weeks?—of yelling. “When I get out of here, I’m going to—”“Oh, honey,” Elara’s voice cooed smoothly into the emptiness like a snake. “You’re not getting out. Ever. Save your energy for crying. It’s more entertaining for me.”Her laughter was like nails on a chalkboard, scraping against my nerves. I hated her. Hated her smug, selfish tone, and her obnoxious grin. But most of all, I hated the helplessness that clawed at my chest every second I was stuck in here.I slid to the nonexistent floor, cradling my knees. I hated the quiet moments too, when Elara wasn’t tormenting me, and it was just… me. Alone with my thoughts, on

  • Moon Fire Reborn    EPILOGUE

SELENA’S POVI stood on the balcony of the Alpha’s quarters, my hands resting on the curve of my swollen belly as the cool breeze kissed my skin. I watched the moon hanging brightly in the night sky, casting a soft silver glow over the Silvermoon pack.I couldn’t sleep—not with the way my wolf kept pacing anxiously in my head and my mate snoring softly beside me. Celestia, as restless as ever, kept nudging me with her thoughts. ‘You need to sit down before you tip over.’ She suggested like she was a fairy godmother.‘I’m fine,’ I shot back, but I wasn’t even really convinced. My back ached all over, my feet were swollen, and this baby—our baby—was practically trying to kick his way out. I glanced behind me, smiling at the sight of Kai sprawled out on the bed. His dark hair was a mess, and his bare chest rose and fell steadily with each breath. My Alpha. My mate. And soon-to-be dad. The thought sent a ripple of excitement and fear through me. What if I messed this up? What if I w

SELENA’S POVRenn sat on the grass floor with his back against the wall. His knees were bent to meet his chest and his elbows rested on them like the weight of the world was pressing down on his shoulders. And honestly? It probably was. I lowered myself beside him so we could be at the same height, and immediately I sat, I felt the cool floor press against my thighs through the thin material of my dress. Kai didn’t look at me right away, but I waited for him to.. I knew better than to rush someone who was grieving. “Hey.” My voice was carefully soft. “You okay?” He scoffed. “Do I look okay?” “Fair point.” I picked at a loose thread on my sleeve, letting the silence stretch just long enough before I added, “But you do look better than you did five minutes ago. That's a huge progress, right?” Renn didn’t laugh, but the corner of his mouth twitched slightly. “You’re trying too hard.” “Yeah, well, it’s what I do.” I nudged his shoulder with mine. “Someone’s gotta keep you from

KAI’S POVI wasn’t drunk. I wasn't even close to being drunk. But I kind of wished I was—because dealing with Renn right now? Yeah, it was the kind of emotional wreckage I was facing at the moment that made me crave something strong enough to burn down the ache.“Renn,” I said softly, crouching beside him as he slumped against the back wall of the hall. His eyes had red rims around them, his shirt was wrinkled, and his knuckles were bruised probably from punching something he shouldn’t have. Or someone. With Renn, you could never tell.He wiped at his face, but it didn’t help much. “Don’t look at me like that.”“Like what?”“Like I’m pathetic.”“I’m not,” I said, even though he kind of was. “I’m looking at you like you’re a guy who’s hurting. Big difference.”He laughed, but it came out sharp and bitter. “You don’t get it, Kai. You don’t get any of this.”I leaned against the wall beside him, giving him space but not enough to let him feel alone. “So explain it to me.”He turned his

  • Moon Fire Reborn    CHAPTER NINETY-SIX

SELENA’S POVDamn it, I was losing my mind. Okay, maybe not in the literal sense, but it sure felt like it. The party was in full swing mode. There were lights illuminating the hall, people dancing carelessly, music vibrating through the ground, and voices blending into a chaotic hum of laughter and chatter. Wolves from every corner of the Silver moon territory were here, dressed to impress, smiling like tonight held all their dreams wrapped up in glitter ribbons. And maybe it did. Because tonight wasn’t just a random party—It was ‘the’ party. The one where celestial bonds would be sealed, mates would be chosen, and vows would be made under the blessing of the Moon Goddess. Also—this party was the one where I would officially be announced as Kai’s… Luna. No pressure, right? I sat on the throne beside Kai, my back so straight it was probably illegal. The chair was huge, carved from dark wood and draped in silver silk that looked like moonlight had been woven into it. It

  • Moon Fire Reborn    CHAPTER NINETY-FIVE

SELENA’S POVI had no idea what I was doing.Okay, that was a lie.I knew exactly what I was doing. I was taking a risk—no, scratch that—I was diving with my head first into something that could either shatter me or make me whole. And yet, with Kai sitting across from me, his hand holding mine and his eyes pulling me so deep into his world, I couldn’t make myself care about the side effects of all of this. Not when he looked at me like this. Not when his touch made me have goosebumps all over my skin like the air before a storm.I swallowed nothing, staring at the sharp lines of his jaw, the way the moonlight kissed his cheekbones and made his eyes glow brightly. Kai wasn’t perfect. Hell, he wasn’t even close, no one was. But there was something about his imperfections, I meant his invincible scars, his family history, that made me feel safe. And maybe that was dangerous, but I didn’t care.I shouldn't even care about it tonight.“Say it again,” I whispered. His brows furrowed. “Say w

  • Moon Fire Reborn    CHAPTER NINETY-FOUR

KAI’S POVThe Silvermoon Pack’s village square was jam-packed with people, and for once, I was grateful it wasn’t for a fight. They all stood shoulder to shoulder, my rogues and Silvermoon wolves blending into one ocean of tired faces. Their clothes were stained, some with dirt, others with dried blood, but despite the wreckage the war had left behind, there was something else in the air that was heavier than exhaustion.I sensed hope.I didn’t know what the hell to do with that, though.I stepped forward, clearing my throat to address them all. “First of all—” My voice cracked, and I internally shook my head. ‘Great start, Alpha,’ Nyx mocked. ‘Real inspiring.’I tried again, ignoring him. “First of all,” I said, louder this time, “we won.”That got their attention. The werewolves straightened their backs. Some of them raised their heads higher. I wasn’t sure if it was pride or disbelief that shimmered in their eyes, but it didn’t matter. They were listening.“We won,” I repeated, my

  • Moon Fire Reborn    CHAPTER NINETY-THREE

SELENA'S POVWe buried Yasmine under the shade of an ancient oak tree. The shaman said it was the closest spot to the goddess’s light—whatever that meant. I didn’t question his words at all. Not when Renn looked like he was one wrong word away from losing his mind completely. He stood by her grave, silent and pale the whole time, his hands shaking as he placed a white lily on the mound of fresh loamy soil. The rest of us stood back, giving him space to mourn his mate because It didn’t feel right to interrupt his grieving moment, but at the same time, I wanted to say something, or anything to make it better.I didn’t, though.Because nothing would ever make him feel better. The shaman, the old man with silver braids and piercing green eyes, hovered around nearby. His staff sank slightly into the ground as he stepped forward, clearing his throat before he spoke. “Renn,” he said softly, “is there anything else you wish to ask before we seal her spirit’s path?”He didn’t answer at first.

  • Moon Fire Reborn    CHAPTER NINETY-TWO

SELENA'S POVI didn’t even know what to feel now that the war was finally over. The battlefield that had once vibrated with screams, roars, and explosions of magic, was now eerily silent. It was too silent. The atmosphere now felt heavier than it should. Every air that I inhaled was thick with the scent of smoke, blood, and something more worse. Grief took over the whole atmosphere.I turned around slowly, my boots sinking into the mud that had mixed with blood and shattered remains of dark spells. My heart pounded in my chest as my gaze swept over the entire battlefield. Bodies laid scattered across the ground, some were our friends, and some foes, but they were all lifeless. I came to the conclusion that this wasn't a victory—it was survival. And barely that because we were the only three people that survived. All other soldiers, who were probably husbands and fathers, had all laid their lives down for me.I saw Renn on his knees, hunched over Yasmine’s pale and broken body like he

NARRATEDDamon didn’t see it coming at all.His aim was at her because one moment Selena had turned her back, her focus now locked on Elara. But in the next moment, when he lunged forward like an unchained beast with desperation burning in his eyes, Kai met him with a faster energy.Their bodies collided with a bone-crunching impact, and the ground made a thud sound beneath their weights. Damon roared, his dark magic losing its control within him, but Kai met him blow for blow, his claws ripping through Damon's fur and flesh like they were paper.“You’re done!” Kai growled angrily, his voice coming out with a furious thone as he grinded his teeth against each other.Damon grinned despite the blood dripping from his mouth. “Not yet.”He shoved Kai off him, sending him flying backwards, but Kai was already moving again. His wolf surged forward, becoming wild as it slammed into Damon before he could fully recover.Selena turned at the direction of the scuffling sound, her chest tightenin
