★★★★“How did you come to like Rilika, then? She would not be your first option for a girlfriend if I understand you correctly,”Jessica muttered while simultaneously displaying intense emotion on every inch of her face. She might not be able to explain her motivation for asking this. Her heart was the one that compelled her to talk about it.Liam inhaled deeply, wondering why it had taken her so long to ask him about this when he had anticipated to hear from her sooner.“I was at a small party seven years ago with some well-known businessmen in attendance. Under my nose, my drinks had been tampered with by a businessman, so I was severely intoxicated. After that, I found myself in my room, totally unconscious, when...!!”"Mumma! Mumma!”They sprang out of panic when they both heard Cornell scream from the room. They stepped out of one other's grasp and rushed towards the room.“Cornell, what happened?” Jessica held her son in her embrace.“I saw a light flash outside of the w
★★★ Because everyone had gone asleep in their respective rooms, the cabin grew silent, as a result, the faint sound of insects became louder, but it was still pleasant to sleep in them. Cornell had his head on the pillow, but his hand gripped Jessica's arm securely, as though he felt safe with her touch. Jessica was also in a deep sleep since she was exhausted from the travel and the additional tiredness from last-minute cooking. This was not the case with Liam, who tossed and turned on the bed for almost a full hour but was unable to get his eyes to close. He felt lonely and had to put up with the aggravation of not being able to grab her in his arm, even though they were very close to each other. In frustration, Liam sat up and surveyed his room. There was a thought in his mind that made him ponder for a brief movement, and he could not stay on the bed. He tossed the sheet aside and walked towards the door, before exiting. Liam approached Jessica's room, unsure whether it was app
★★★Jessica reluctantly moved her head at Liam and looked intently into his eyes. She was unable to adequately describe the beauty of his eyes, which were obscured by a dark cloud and filled with a sense of ecstasy that made her want to stay there longer because that was where peace dwelt.“I am not envious, but it does not mean any lady will want to wear someone else's used clothes, especially when I can borrow my own clothes if you let me know in advance about this trip you are planning," Jessica answered, making an effort to contain her aberrant reddish hue.“I can see right into your soul, therefore you cannot fool me," Liam uttered huskily and breathed in her aroma, which had combined with a floral scent since she had taken a shower before getting into bed. He did not know much about women, and this topic had never really interested him. However, ever since he met Jessica, a lot of things had come along with her that he wanted to touch and appreciate, even though he could not
★★★ “Stefen,” a female voice called Stefen from behind when he was smoking outside of a bar after ending the life of that doctor. He wanted to run back to Jessica's house to see if she had returned, but a sudden impulse to smoke caused him to pull over. When he turned around, he saw Moon Waver with her pals, and the bags in their hands displayed that they were on their way home after shopping. Stefen did not let go of the cigarette, and neither he revealed any sort of smile at Moon who excitedly walked up to him along with her friends. “Are you planning to visit the pub behind you?" Moon asked Stefen as she peered over his shoulder to the bustling bar. Her hesitation could be felt in her voice since she did not think Stefen would be of the mindset to appreciate music given that Mr. Lawrence was in such poor condition. “No, this is not my choice, ever,” Stefen responded, blowing a chunk of smoke to the side in order to avoid making them uncomfortable. "Are you returning home?" He
★★★"Where are we going?" Jessica murmured as she calmly followed Liam to where he wanted her to go, ignoring their sleep.“Just follow me and you will love it," Liam said and started to climb the rooftop. As he did so, he looked down to check whether Jessica was having any difficulty doing so. He had no issue scooping her up on his shoulder and continuing to climb the rooftop.Jessica was perplexed when she discovered Liam was taking her on the rooftop; she had no idea why, and more peculiarly, a chill immediately came into contact with her due to the dense foliage. The cold made her teeth itch, but she did not complain because Liam seemed excited about whatever was going on the rooftop. As soon as she stepped onto the rooftop, she was astounded by the scene below, the cloud of fireflies roaming around the house, illuminating the ground. Looking up Jessica drank the beauty of the sky—most likely—the enormous moon that was clearly visible in the sky."Come here!” When she heard L
★★★ “If you give me some time, I will find that person for you. I shall impart the harshest lesson on both Rilika and her companion, regardless of who it is." As his hand reached beneath the blanket and seized her palm in his, Liam murmured under his breath, his eyes steely. Though the anger was evident on his face, his body was filled with concern, which he expressed to Jessica in an effort to calm her. “I believe that fate has punished her cruelly because the person she is crazy in love with has been cheating on her with her step-sister. Trust me, I thought of stealing you from her so I could inflict agonizing suffering on her but remembering Cornell, I kept my thoughts from corrupting with wicked ideas,” Jessica switched her gaze from Liam's chest to his face, allowing her to see his pointed chin as she sincerely confessed about the covert plots she had hatched against Rilika and Liam. “Haha! Such a cunning strategy you devised against me, yet if you ask me, I would prefer you d
★★★A car traveling at lightning speed with two occupants inside braked directly in front of Jessica's house. The door from the opposite side was unlocked as Moon exited the vehicle while experiencing an unsettling stomach ache. Her knees soon landed on the side of the road, and she puked. In contrast, Stefen exited the vehicle and hurried to Jessica's house, paying little attention to Moon, who was not only trembling in fear but also feeling ill from traveling at such a speed that a fast death she had seen approaching her."Jess,” Stefen yelled even though he could see the house was in the dark, clearly indicating no one was present in the house, yet Stefen could not stop yelling Jessica by her name. After throwing up, Moon inhaled many times to calm herself down. As she did so, she unmistakably heard Stefen screaming. Her mind was not enough steady to process anything, but she did understand that something was not right with Stefen and his affection for Jessica. She hid behind t
★★★★ “Is she okay?” When Eva learned what had happened to Moon, she spoke out in concern for the young child. “How am I supposed to know whether she's okay? Since she spoke to me, I feel she was not hurt, but rather terrified due to your child's audacity. He no longer cares about anyone besides Jessica, as if we are nobody to him," Rilika told her mother about Stefen and his schemes. Since things had gotten out of hand, Rilika believed if they did not become involved in this, the consequence would be disastrous for them. “I cannot come up with anything to halt Stefen. Darren used to be able to easily manage him, and now I believe he has understood his strength, which he is considering leveraging for his own gain. What have I done wrong in my life, Rilika, for my son to turn out like this?” Eva screamed, holding her head in pain from the worsening headache. “Relax, Mom. Do not make yourself suffer because of him. Even so, I'm still too mad at him for making me such an unhappy person
