James walked down the stairs and walked fast to the living room, his father didn't like to be kept waiting. He entered the living room and his father was seated on his couch with a glass of bourbon in his hand as he watched the news. The headline was still all about Kings Pharmaceutical. “Good morning Father.” James greeted. “Leave us.” He said to his staff that were standing there and they all bowed their heads and left. James took a seat by the side of his father, his father didn't say anything or turn to look at him, he just continued watching the news and that made James nervous because he didn't know what he was thinking. After a few minutes, his father picked up the remote and muted the TV and then he turned to look at James. “I take it you've seen the news?” His father asked him. “Yes father, I have.” James said, he didn't know whether it not to tell his father that he was the one behind it, he wanted to gauge his reaction first.
Dylan got home late again that night, he looked in on Emma first and saw that she was sleeping and then he kissed her on her cheek and told her goodnight. Then despite his mind telling him not to, he opened Anna's door, but she wasn't in her bed. He walked into her room and checked her closet and her bathroom but she wasn't in there. He became worried, he wanted to ask his staff but they had all retired for the night. There's no way she would've left without Emma so where could she possibly be? He ran to his office and pulled up the CCTV camera feed, he looked through all of them and he still couldn't find her. He kept on looking and then she came up on one of the cameras, she was at the pool, she was just sitting down with her legs in the pool and it looked like she was crying. Dylan ran out of his office and straight to the pool that was outside the house. When he saw her there, he let out a huge breath of relief. Yes, he had seen her in the cameras but seein
Dylan held her until her cries subsided. Anna raised her head from his chest and then wiped her tears away. “Do you feel better?” Dylan asked her but she couldn't look up at him she was so embarrassed at how she acted and then for also crying in front of him. “Look at me, Anastasia.” Dylan put his hand under her jaw and raised her head. “I'm sorry for the way I talked to you and for crying, please can we forget that any of this happened?” Anna asked him. “No, I can't forget it because you were right. Come let's sit down.” Dylan took her hand and they both walked towards Anna's bed and sat down and when they got there Dylan still held on to her hand. “Everything you said had a valid point. I did bring you to an unknown country and then I left you alone for three days without a word. I'm sorry Anastasia, this whole thing that happened at work is serious but it's not an excuse, you were right, it wouldn't kill me to take five minutes off my time
The next morning Dylan was up by six, he took his bath, put on his suit and styled his hair. He made sure all the files he needed were in his briefcase and then he closed it up, carried it and left his room. It was still dark out and he had a feeling that Anna wasn't up yet but he promised her that he would let her know when he was leaving. He walked down the hall to her room and opened the door, her curtains were still down and the only light in the room came from her bedside lamp. He dropped his suitcase by the door and walked down to her bed. He laughed when he saw that she slept just like Emma, she had thrown the blanket off her body and her legs were spread out on the bed. He covered her back up with the blanket and she rolled around to face him. Dylan couldn't help but admire her in that moment, she looked so beautiful and peaceful. He brushed her hair away from her face and she blinked her eyes open. “Dylan, is that you?” She asked her voice groggy w
Dylan and the other guys walked down to the hall downstairs where the event was taking place. They were backstage but Dylan looked out and saw that the place was packed with newsmen, journalists, bloggers and also the members of the board and the investors. Everyone was there. Plus the event was being broadcast live. “It's a full house, good job Luke.” Dylan praised him. “Ladies and gentlemen please welcome the CEO of Kings Enterprise, Mr. Dylan Knight.” The MC announced and then Dylan came out from backstage and walked on to the main stage. He had already been fitted with a mic. “Thank you, ladies and gentlemen and the press for being here today. I know you all have questions about what happened three days ago and I'll be putting all those questions to rest today. Let me start by answering the most common questions that have been out there.” “Yes the lab was burnt down but luckily there were no deaths. There were injuries but Kings Enterprise take
Dylan called Lucas as he ran down to the parking lot. Lucas finally picked up. “Sir, where are you? The board members and investors want to talk to you.” Lucas told him. “Lucas I need you to tell Luke to run interference with the board members and investors and then I need you and my security team to meet me at the hospital.” Dylan told Lucas. “The hospital? What's going on sir?” Lucas asked and you could hear that he was worried. “Anna just called, she said that Emma passed out and they are in the hospital. I'm driving there by myself I'll get there faster.” Dylan explained to Lucas. “Ok sir, I'll handle everything here and talk to Luke and then me and the security guards will meet you there.” Lucas said and the Dylan hung up the call. Dylan finally got to his car, it was his Aston Martin. He pressed the key fob, the doors unlocked and he went in and closed the door. He started the car and sped out of the parking lot and then he drove li
“Sorry did you just say cardiomyopathy?” Dylan asked the doctor again so that he would be sure. “Yes, Mr. Knight. I'm guessing she either got it from you or your wife.” The doctor told Dylan as his eyes looked from him to Anna. “Dylan isn't her biological father.” Anna told the doctor before Dylan could say anything. Looking at how distraught Anna was at that moment he decided not to say anything about that night and him being Emma's real father, now was not the right time. “Did you have this condition Mrs. Knight?” The doctor asked Anna. “No, I didn't, and I had no idea that Emma had it.” Anna explained to the doctor. She felt like a bad mother for not knowing that her daughter was sick. She also felt bad that her one-night stand with a stranger was the reason that Emma had this condition. “Well, none of that is your fault Mrs. Knight. They usually only screen for this condition in newborns only if they know that a parent has it.” The doctor exp
James was in his office, whistling and having a glass of bourbon. He was just waiting for the call from Lyon to tell him that he had taken Kings Enterprise from Dylan and then for Pandora to launch their drug, putting the final nail in Dylan Knight's coffin. He pressed his intercom. “Liam please come to my office.” A few minutes later, Lian walked into James's office. “You called for me sir?” Liam asked James. “Yes, Liam. I'd like you to draft a new proposal and send it to Mr. Knight, tell him that we won't be accepting his eighty-twenty deal, that we now want a fifty-fifty agreement, equal partners.” James instructed Liam and he had a huge smile on his face. “But sir, isn't that a little premature, he still has way more money than we do.” Liam explained to James. “Oh shut up, what do you know? Just do as I say. It's not like he's going to be CEO for long, once Lyon takes over he's going to give us everything we want. The man is an idiot and has
