"I'll be there," the boss sand and hung the call up.

The little boy was scared, he didn't know what these numerous guards would do to him. He hoped earnestly that his mommy would come quickly to save him.

All of a sudden, the atmosphere changed into a very cold one even though the wheather was hot. The entire guards could feel a chill run down their spine as they saw the boss and his personal assistant walked towards them.

They all bowed their head as the boss aproached them.

It didn't take time for the boss to identify the little boy, he looked so cute that he forgot how ruthless he was. He wondered why this little one looked so much like him. He turned to his personal assistant who also had a surprising look on his face. The striking resemblance between the boss and the little one was so obvious.

The boss dismissed everyone including the personal assistant and looked at the little boy blankly, "what's your name?"

"Will you beat me?" The little one asked fearfully. He needed no one to announce to him that this tall man before him is the man who owns the car whose tyre he had deflated.

"No. Tell me your name?" He asked.

"My name is Fred, please let me go, I promise not to do that again, I promise," the little boy said, no matter how calm the tall man before him sounds, Fred felt like he was too dangerous so he ran away .

The man was surprised at the little one's reaction, was he that scary? Well, to adults, he was more than being scary but before this little one, he acted as calm as he could yet he ran away.

He suddenly got interested in knowing the mother of the little one. 'his mother must have been so careless to let this little boy wander into the underground garage here.' he thought to himself then turned to his personal assistant, "find the little boy's mother and bring her to me."

"Okay, sir," Horace, his person assistant responded quickly and a few guards lead the boss away.

Fred had gone to hid behind a big Hilux but he was peeping, once he saw that the boss had left. He heaved a sigh of relief. But he suddenly saw the guards dispersed and it looked like they were searching for him.

About fifteen minutes Later, Debby was lead to the boss's office. She had been found to be the mother of Fred but luckily for her, they didn't know she was working in the company.

"He's just a little boy, can't your boss be merciful?" Debby asked Horace as he and about ten guards lead her to the 88th floor of the company.

"It seems you know nothing about the CEO of Vernon corporation, I hope you find out soon," Horace said and knocked on the door of the CEO's office as soon as they got before it.

"Come in," a hard voice came in from inside. Horace then walked in with Debby and bowed slightly, "sir, here is the little boy's mother."

"You can leave," the CEO said to Horace, he was yet to look at Debby.

Once Horace left, he hibernated his computer and set his gaze on Debby. Once he saw her, he frowned as anger immediately aroused inside of him.

He clenched his fist hard and pointed to her, "is your father not Broderick Alessandro?"

Debby who had been wondering why this CEO looked so much like her son suddenly furrowed her brow in shock when she heard the CEO describing her identity.

This was the first time she was seeing him yet he recognized her easily. Her heart skipped fearfully but since she wasn't known to be an employee here, she tried to remain calm and said, "I am. How did you know me please ?"

He slammed his hand hard on the table in anger and stood. Some documents on the table flew away and even a cup of coffee fell to the ground.

Debby's heart skipped. The man looked very dangerous. He really didn't know anything about him but just within the few minutes that she had been here, she can already tell that this man was full of peril.

The CEO left his desk and took a step towards her, "Broderick Alessandro killed my father, my mother and the only two sisters I had many years ago." He said this with a painful heart. His eyes had turned very red like that of a blood sucking beast.

"After that horrible incident, your father, Broderick Alessandro took his wife and children and left Darkwood back to NorthHill," he explained further.

"As NorthHill had banned other countries from visiting them, it became impossible for me to revenge on your father. All this years, I have been nurturing pain in my heart, burning heavily for revenge. But fate is now kind to me, it has brought me one of Broderick Alessandro's blood," he smirked wickedly and suddenly grabbed her chin .

"I'll make you pay for every single pain that your father caused me." He tightened his hand around her chin and slammed her hard to the wall.

She winced in pain and cried, "My father is not evil..." Debby felt like she had entered the Lion's den. Actually, Debby had never seen her parents or family before. She had no remembrance of her childhood memories. Her remembrance of her life started by finding herself in her strange woman's house. This woman claimed to be her father's sister. This woman was Alice, her ex bestfriend's mother.

She believed everything Alice told her about herself and lived her life like an orphan since then.

From what Alice had told her about her father, he doesn't look like one who does evil.

"Please! Don't hurt me, I have no knowledge of my father's misdeed," Debby pleaded with tears already falling off her face, her heart palpitating in a hard way.

"Did you think my two sisters were not innocent yet your father killed them? Two young precious and lovely girls died before my very eyes. I watched Broderick slaughter my mother as if she's a ram and for my father, he killed him slowly in the most brutal way ?" He said and took his hand off her chin.

Hard veins could be seen in his neck and his forehead, "I'm Harry Vernon! the demon of Darkwood! The most powerful man in Asia! I have destroyed every single soul who came against me in the past. I let them beg for death."

"You! Your punishment will be greater."

Debby watched him fearfully, he looked like someone that will kill her instantly.

He walked to the door and went to lock it. Debby became even more frightened.

"Please! Please!" Debby pleaded earnestly. If she had known that she was coming to the Lion's den, she would have ran away with Fred.

The tall man tucked his two hands in his pant and asked, "Why did your son looked like someone from my family?" He wanted to know this before enacting his revenge plan on her.

Debby fluttered her eyes repeatedly in fear, "from your... family?" She quickly added with a shaky voice, "I don't have any connection with your family..." Her voice trailed off. Her heavily palpitating heart was making her find it difficult to breath.

"I'm asking who your son's father is?" His voice was full of peril.

"I don't know." Debby responded truthfully.

Harry Vernon didn't believe her, "If you don't tell me the truth, I'll tell my men to take you away from here and lock you up in a place where you'll never get to see your son again. "

Debby furrowed her brow in shock," please believe me, I'm telling you the truth. Please don't lock me up." Debby was already regretting coming back to Darkwood, she should have just stayed back at the country she was.

He walked to his desk and brought out his phone then he browsed through the phone until the picture of his younger brother appeared, he showed the picture to her and said," this is my younger brother. His mother is the second wife of my father . These two people, my grandfather and I are the only person left in the Vernon's family. Your son looked like my brother, now speak the truth, is he your son's father?"

Debby was shocked to realize that the CEO's brother was actually Arthur , her ex fianceé. Seeing his picture made her remember the past and her heart hurt terribly.

"He's not the father of my son," Debby managed to speak. "Plus my son doesn't only look like him, he also looks like you. Might be a coincidence."

"Coincidence!" He repeated and looked at her in fury. "Did you say coincidence?" His suddenly mind trailed back to the strange woman he had sex with five years ago. Could she be the one?

He had searched the entire country for the woman in the past but he couldn't find her.

This ordinary woman, whose father ruined him can never be the one he had sex with many years back. But it will be rational for him to find out the truth before letting this woman die a painful death as a punishment for her father's crime.

"Get out!" He suddenly commanded.

Debby was shocked. Really? Was he really letting her go or did he plan to shoot her while she's walking away.

"Please don't kill me cause of my son, he needs me," Debby begged earnestly.

"Scram!" He shouted in anger, if this woman persist here, the remembrance her presence brings him can just make him kill her right here.

Debby immediately sped towards the door, unlock the door, looked back to be sure he wasn't planning on killing her then quickly ran out.
