Chapter 44: The Dinner (II)

“Nothing..big. I’m just making spaghetti with sauce. With the Italian recipe, my mother used to make it.” He added after a moment, answering my question. My mouth watered and my stomach growled. He narrowed his eyes at me, all traces of his smile gone and I knew that he wanted to say something but then changed his mind and turned right back to the stove.

I followed the amazing smell and it led me to the sauce, cooking slowly on the stove. I peeked at Alex and I saw he was already watching me in amusement. “Do you wanna try it?” He offered.

I nodded eagerly and his lips perked up at the corners. He came behind me, reached with his one hand around me and stepped a little bit closer so he was touching me everywhere. I inhaled sharply at the first contact. Then, he carefully brought the wooden spoon up to my lips, willing them to open.
