The training room was hot and I darted behind a large rock from the terrain. The fact that Apophis could change the terrain was hard to wrap my head around by itself, but of course, he always tops it off with a cherry. The ground shook slightly and I heard Apophis yell from far away, "The ground is lava~!"

"Bastard....!!" I scramble up the rock, clawing the rocky surface as the once dirt-covered floor, became a bubbling monster of red and orange. I stared at the hot element as it glowed with angry wrath.

"There you are~!" Apophis called sweetly, my eyes locking onto his stature. His grin showed his snake fangs as his pupils became slits.

"It's been 15 seconds..! Stop with the lava!" I hissed at him as his walk grew closer. The lava parting like the red sea for him.

"Alright, alright." The lava seeped into the ground, my glare the only fire.

    "You promised to..t

Apophis had led me to a bathroom, one that was made for a king. As I looked around at the wide space I couldn't help but gape. The whole room was black marble with gold decorations. The gold tub was bigger than a hot tub, maybe the size of a pool. The water was already warm and up to the brim of the tub. The more I thought about it the more sense it made. He is an Egyptian god.. I walked around the room, looking at the hieroglyphics that were embedded in the marble with a thin gold band on the top and the bottom. The thin bands stayed parallel, trapping each image between them. The stunning gold shimmered in the fire light, drawing me closer as I watched, perplexed and amazed. The curves and grooves of each picture had an inlay of gold, the flickering of fire making it look alive; as if the birds and squiggles were dancing. I let my fingertips slide across the smooth engraved gold as I walked around the room. The four columns in the corners o

The bath was soothing against the subsiding sting on Apophis's cheek. His mind twisted around as he soaked. He sighed heavily and slowly rose from the water, his steps slow and considerate as he grabbed the royal blue towel, quickly drying himself off with ease. Apophis started to dress, pulling his pants up and buttoning them when he felt the sudden wave of power. He paused, shocked; the power shaking the ground as it pulsed. "Kasey...." His eyes locked onto the door and he darted to it, throwing it open as he looked around the room, "Kasey?!" He looked at the stairs to the underground room. His movements were swift as he ran down the steps, his footfalls echoing with the pulses of powers. He darted into the room and stopped, the fire before him swirling and hissing in anger. He narrowed his eyes and let his flames from within burst around him, green tendrils fighting against the fiery hot pink that struck out at him. He slowly walked into t

(Kasey's POV) My mind eased into the soothing blackness that seemed to be the best cure for the painful memories. The gravestone mocking me as it faded back into the deepest pit I dug for it. Burying it as deep as possible. Deeper than the coffin that I watched float down into the mud and dirt. Deeper than the grief and anger. Deeper than the impossibility of forgiveness. "Kasey..." I turned my head, the figure floating beside me sending me waves of grief. The fire sparked to life again. I sobbed, my hand reaching for the familiar figure that watched me with a soft look. "I'm so..s..so sorry..." The broad arms encircled me, the soothing voice sliding into my mind. "I know..I know.." The tears fell down my cheeks like raindrops from a cloud. The gentle hug holding me tightened. "Dad—" "But it's s

The trek back to the room that was designed for me was like falling through a hole that had no bottom and just grew darker and darker. The coldness swept through my numb shell. Vetis's hands were still guiding me through the halls. I slowly let my gaze flick up to this demon's face, as human as he seemed, there was still something that was unworldly. His electric eyes met mine for a moment and I instantly let the ground catch my interest. His hand was on my back, slowly pushing me to the door that seemed all too friendly. Vetis chuckled and grabbed the handle of the friendly door. And with a quick flick of his wrist, he threw the door open. He gave me a gentle push, my numbed body inching into the room. I stopped at the center of the room and just stared at the ground. The click of the door behind me almost made my calm demeanor shatter into the real chaos that was haunting my head. His footsteps towards me sent cracks into the coolness of my very being.&

As I finally let out the pain my screams slowed down to just whimpers. My body curled up into a fetal position as searing pain throbbed through my body. "Kasey!!" I heard him call for me but I could only see the flames of anger and hate. "Kasey stop!! You have to stop!" I felt a hand on my shoulder as I looked up and met the orange eyes of fire. Eyes of pain and anguish and worry. Memories flashed through my mind as I gasped for air, smoke burning my throat and lungs. My last thought was encircled by a name, Jackson. But the longer I reached for the memory, the tighter the oppression of my mind became. And before I could touch the edge of the image, the smoke curled around it and snapped at my throat. My old friend curled its claws around me, its power pushing me into the all too familiar slumber... The gears in my head started to crank again, and I slowly dared my eyes to

I've been in the hospital for 3 weeks now, and apparently, I was missing for a few days before I was found. Half-dead and bloody as all hell. I sat legs crossed on my hospital bed quietly, looking at a word search I was working on. The pen's end stuck in my mouth slightly as i scanned the letters. The word I was searching for ringing in my head, "chocolate..chocolate...c..h..o...l...nope.... hmmm...chocolate....chocolate..." A soft tap brought my attention to the doorway, a sweet little old lady peering at me, "excuse me, have you seen a young girl running around? She's wearing a pink dress and two bows in her long hair." I smiled sadly, "no, I haven't. But ill let her know you are looking for her. And I'll let you know if I find her." The plump old lady smiled, "oh, thank you, dearie. Her name is Diana, but she prefers to go by Ana. Thank you very much, hun." "No problem. And what does she call you,

I sat speechless on my hospital bed as the little girl, Diana, rambled on about this ridiculous story, her grandma being a witch who put a spell on her parents. The curse only took effect when they ate broccoli. I did my best not to look skeptical, but I couldn't help but let my mind wander slightly. I slowly looked towards the door, the hospital was unusually quiet, which made me hesitate and look back at Diana. The little girl was still rambling on and didn't mind insulting me a few times just to show how more superior she was. All I could think was: "No wonder her grandma wants her to go to sleep...She never shuts up." I glanced at the clock and stopped Diana in her tracks. Her train of thought screeching to a halt. "It's really late, and I need to get some rest so I can heal up. Otherwise, how can I help you?" I smiled slightly at her. Her eyes watched me for a second with hurt and anger before switching to a happy smile.

Sonneillon groaned at the bursts of flavor, his eyes glowing red as he took a few long gulps. A numbing sensation grew around the bite but Kasey instantly started to feel lightheaded. Her body temperature rose as her body shivered with pleasure against her own will. Sonneillon hugged her closer to him as he savored each millisecond, Kasey gripped onto his shirt as her legs started to become weak and she couldn't help but lean against him for support. After all four had finished eating the servants came back and cleared the table while the three men talked about politics. Kasey's determination to learn more about this new world she had been swallowed by failing as she kept tuning out pieces of the conversation until she wasn't listening at all. Politics just weren't her thing. Eventually, Mammon shifted the conversation to what they had all been gathered here for. "We are here to make Kasey into a full fledge demon so she will have a chance at survival. Therefore, we need her soul intact, Pyro." Mammon rubbed his hands together and smiled widely at the Prince. "Have what I asked for already been arranged then?" Pyro watched Mammon closely to pick out any lies he dared spill. Mammon tossed his head from side to side for a moment before he smiled, "I think the only thing that hasn't been accomplished was the optional choice. Everything else has been arranged or prepared." He smiled warmly at her and slowly stood up. "Lovely for you to join us! The others will be arriving shortly," Mammon moved away from his spot at the head of the table and pulled out the seat that was next to him. "Please, sit." Kasey hesitated before smiling slightly and sat in the chair with a cautious "thank you". "I am quite happy that you did decide to join us, but I am curious why you didn't say no?" Mammon pushed in her chair before he grabbed a bottle of wine that one of his servants started to bring over to pour into her glass. As soon as Kasey let go of Mammon's hand, she had a sinking feeling in her chest. As if she just sold herself to him. The enthusiasm Mammon was clearly showing wasn't much help either. The maid led her to a door that was a few doors down from the office they had appeared in, slowly Kasey worked up the courage to ask where they were. The blue-haired maid bowed after she opened the door for Kasey, gesturing for her to enter before looking up at the human girl and replying, "This is lord Mammon's mansion, miss. I am Crystle. It was night by the time Kasey paused to rest. She sat down on a fallen tree. Why the tree had fallen was the last thing on her mind. what was on her mind was how broken her legs felt. And how badly her arm ached. It might've been basically healed, but it was still sore from the whole event. Kasey took off her bag and pulled out a water bottle and an apple. She took a few short swigs of the water before putting it away and putting the bag back on. She slowly ate the apple as she used her demon eye's powers again to peer around her. She was alone for now. The phone she stole chimed and Kasey jumped before peering down at the screen. It was a message. "Have you not arrived?" Kasey sighed and texted back, "a few miles north still." "I see." Kasey took another bite of her apple as she jumped down from the tree and continued her walk. Shobek paced back in forth on the lawn while Belasco went around the whole house to make sure he wasn't mistaken. But

The doctor that showed up only did the bare minimum since Kasey was still human. Though he was supposedly trustworthy, Shobek made the doctor seal his lips about this incident with a bit of his magic. Though it was risky, both demon lords decided a tiny spark shouldn't prove where they were. So it was done. If the doctor spoke of the incident, he would instantly be consumed by Shobek's flames. "The doctor said she should be better after a few days, especially with her quick healin. So you don't need to guard her..." Belasco again repeated to the stubborn dragon. "We didn't even know when he arrived. There's no promise that he can't appear in her room either. It's better if someone stays in her room with her." Shobek snarled, his eyes watching Kasey as she lay on the bed, staring emptily at the ceiling. Belasco sighed, giving up on his attempt to let Kasey rest in peace, "just promise me, that if she asks for some alone time, you will listen to her." Shobek nod

"Belasco is making me take a day off," Kasey responded before taking another bite. "Shouldn't you be happy you get a day off?" Shobek got up and walked over to her, a hand gently touching over a bruise that was left on her cheek. "He beat you up pretty badly.." "I want to train! Besides, most of the scratches are already healed. The bruises are mostly faded too." Kasey responded pulling away from Shobeks touch. "I didn't know you had fast healing," Shobek stepped back to give her space. "I didn't either," Kasey said around a bite of the apple. "I could try to train you...?" Shobek hesitantly offe

Kasey shook her head and continued to wash the shampoo out of her hair. After she was done she got out, dried off, and slipped into her underwear and the black sweatpants and lavender shirt she picked out. Quickly tying her hair back into a sloppy bun she headed back downstairs, patting Ananta on the head as she headed back outside. The two had stopped arguing by this time but a tense silence remained between the two. "How's the food coming?" Kasey slowly asked, hoping to NOT cause another fight. "Almost done," Shobek responded. Shobek watched each day, impressed with her increasing stamina and faster response times. Though she still had yet to beat Belasco, day by day, she was pushing through, getting closer each time. Belasco panted as he again blocked and dodged Kasey's endless attacks, jumping over another leg sweep, "let's take a break!" Kasey slowly stood back up, panting as she walked over to the outside table and picked up a towel to wipe off her sweat. "I think I almost had you there." Belasco paused then chuckled, "not quite sweets!" Belasco took a long swig of his drink as Shobek stepped outside. "No, she definitely had you there. You've gotten much weaker Belasco."
