WRITER’S POV

Jax and Max stood shoulder to shoulder, their gazes tracking Caleb as he vanished once more into a group of giggling girls. Max swiveled towards Jax, his brow furrowed with worry.

"What do we do?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Jax shrugged, his gaze distant. "I don't know," he admitted, his voice mirroring Max's whisper. "But we have to wait and see."

Max nodded, "Alright."

As they stood there, wine glasses delicately cradled in their hands, Max nudged Jax with a subtle elbow. His gaze discreetly drifted towards a group of girls, their eyes sparkling with interest and casting flirtatious glances their way. “It appears you’ve attracted some admirers,” he teased.

Jax shrugged him off nonchalantly. A hint of annoyance flashed in his deep-set eyes, momentarily replacing the usual calm. “I’m not interested,” he stated firmly, his voice resolute and leaving no room for further discussion.
