Chapter 3: Unexpected Visitor

It has been a week since she moved to her Uncle Ben's house. She was still coping and she still misses her father somehow. Although her Dad manages to call her almost twice a day, she still couldn't help to cry every time she talks to him over the phone. She's a daddy's girl and it's the first time he has been away from her for this long knowing it might take months or a year before they could see each other again. He was her only parent and imagine being away from the person she with all through her life made her feel so alone. It was not bad living in her Uncle Ben and Aunt Meryl's house at all. The couple was good indeed and they've been treating her nice. It was just Elena she was not comfortable with but she somehow manages to tolerate her cockiness and mean treatment. There are times they ignore each other which is much okay on her part and there are times she treated her nice but only if her parents were around of course. Well, she was completely fine with that as long as she doesn't meddle her business and privacy.

Sitting on the couch in the living room while reading a magazine was one of her past times.  It was a weekend morning and the ending of the school's vacation is getting near. She doesn't usually go out in the house although aunt Meryl been telling her to have fun with her friends. As much as she would like to but Her two best friends Macky and Hannah are out on a vacation with their families so she just chose to stay at home the whole week like now, keeping herself busy reading magazines trying to ease her boredom. It's just so frustrating her father went away this time of the year when it was her school's vacation. They could have done a summer vacation on a beach, camping in a forest, and done a lot of activities before he went out of the country. They usually camp and go out of town during her school vacation but he left two weeks before the ending of her school's vacation. Can you imagine that? She still has one more boring week to stay at the house. It was probably the saddest and boring school vacation she ever had for she was alone and mostly staying at the house.

Uncle Ben and Aunt Meryl are not at home at this time. They left early in the morning so meaning Elena and her are left alone in the house. They rarely talk to each other, practically because they hate each other. They both used to act okay and nice in front of Elena's parents. She thinks it is better that way than to be noticed by her Aunt and Uncle that they were not on good terms. The couple will surely worry if they find about it and she doesn't want to be a bother or create trouble in this family because of that. She would rather tolerate Elena or ignore her.

The good thing is next week is the starting of school so she's kinda excited. She'll be in sixth grade and she wonders how's it going to be? Just thinking about it excites her more. She was about to turn the page on the magazine she was holding when someone behind her suddenly talked and took her attention. When she turned her head and check the owner of the voice, her world suddenly ceased to exist for she never imagined she will see him at the moment. Her face automatically brightens up while her eyes twinkled with joy.

"Thyago....." She mumbled.

Thyago was her ultimate crush since fourth grade. He was five years ahead of her and the very first time she saw him, she had awakened strange feelings she never thought will occur in her. She finally had a crush for the very first time in her existence. It was the first day of school at that time and they accidentally bumped into each other. He picked the books and her bag that splattered on the floor and hand them over to her. He even apologized and said he didn't mean it. At first, she wants to get mad but when she saw his face, oh boy, it seems like all the mean words that she was about to say were suddenly forgotten. She couldn't help herself to gasp when she saw his very hatty face. She had never seen anybody so charming and adorable like him. Her young heart was thrilled in the strange feelings she suddenly felt towards meeting him. She wonders then if he's a fallen angel because he had the most beautiful face she had ever seen in her entire life. She even fluttered her eyelashes to check if she's dreaming or not. Her heart beats so fast like a runaway train but she loves the feeling of it.

As days went by, she found out that his name was Theodore Augustus Williams A.K.A Thyago. He was the only son of the good mayor in town, he's smart and he came from a rich clan and that made him popular in school. She heard his Granpa owns the biggest Construction Firm in the country and his family owns a lot of businesses in the Capital. He came from well-known businessmen and politicians and beyond that fact, he's known to be friendly and humble too. Learning that information made her more interested in him. Until then she secretly admires and adores him from afar.

But wait!!!

What the hell in the world does Thyago Williams doing here in her Uncle Ben's house?

"Excuse me?" She heard him repeatedly said with a frown on his hatty face. Maybe he was wondering, at the same time puzzled for she was acting such dumb.

Well, can you blame her? It was Thyago Williams for Pete's sake! Her ultimate crush! Can you blame her to get stunned and mesmerized for a moment?

"Uh, yes?" She answered as a sweet smile formed her lips. She just can't help it. She has to give her sweetest smile to him.

"I'm Thyago, Elena's friend. I was told by the maid that she was inside. Uh, have you seen her?" She suddenly felt disappointed when she heard Elena's name in his mouth as a frown automatically formed her face.

Of all people, why does it have to be Elena? Really??? That evil villain?!!

"Umm, I think she's at the garden. There is the last time I saw her this morning." She answered disappointedly.

"Thanks. I didn't know Elena has a pretty sister or siblings?" He said with a smile showing his white perfect set of teeth.

Oh my! What a smile... Did I heard it right? He called me pretty? But wait... Did he mistake me for being Elena's sister? No way! We don't have any physical similarities. Duh! You're lucky you have that attractive smile Thyago, so I can still forgive you for that, baby...

"I'm not her sister. I'm her cousin, Bea." She introduced herself.

"Bea? What a nice name. Nice meeting you. I'm Thyago, Elena's friend." He uttered offering his hand that she gladly accepted.

I know right? You were even my ultimate crush dammit. Theodore Augustus Williams, your name suits for a prince! How can I even forget?

The moment she held his warm and soft hand, she suddenly felt her downy hair raised as an electric-like feeling crept into her when she just only holds his hand? How can that be possible? She was not sure but she thinks he felt that too because she saw him got stunned and look at her with furrowed brows.

Although it's kinda bit disappointing because he immediately took his hand away from her grip, she still gave her sweetest smile because it's not every day she could have a chance to hold Thyago's hand. This was kinda strange because those electric-like sensations felt so good. It was the first time she felt that and it really felt great! Really strange...

"Pleasure to meet you Thyago." She answered sweetly.

"Great! Umm... I'm gonna go to the garden and look for Elena. Glad to meet you, Bea." He excused himself then walked towards the way through the garden.

Minutes later, whatever that spirit that compelled her to follow and stalk Thyago, she actually did. She was curious why he was looking for her cousin Elena? She never have an idea that they were friends? How come?

Passing through the kitchen door towards the garden, she looks and sneaked to Thyago from there. Not being content with the view, she looked for another place to sneak until she saw a willow tree. Yeah right, she climbed up a tree just to take a look at the boy who intrigues her feelings. And from afar, she dreamily watched him like a fool while he was talking to Elena.

She wonders what do they talk about and how did they meet? He said they were friends, are they that close or something more deeper than that? Is he courting Elena? Hope not, because thinking about it suddenly made her jealous. It's not that she was insecure with Elena. Well, she has to admit she really is physically beautiful and she was not. Probably because Elena was chic, fashionable, and conscious to herself while she was a simple face with a nerdy look of style. She loves wearing comfortable clothes and hates wearing makeup. Besides, she can't afford to buy expensive clothes like Elena. Elena's parents provide her a huge amount of allowance and Aunt Meryl loves buying her fine clothes. Aunt Meryl once bought her a pink expensive dress but she did not like it. She wonders do Thyago likes girls wearing make-up and with good and fashionable style?

They were seated in the garden set behind some ornamental plants are located. They seemed to have a good conversation because they were both laughing while chatting. She wonders what are the things Thyago can make him laugh at? And at that moment, at the back of her mind, she suddenly wished she could switch places to Elena even just a short period of time.

Her brow furrowed in disgust when she saw Thyago suddenly held Elena's hand then gently tucked those strands of hairs to her ear that slightly covering her face. Seeing that gesture, something not so good feeling crept inside her heart. It was like something akin to jealousy and she hates it. Seeing her ultimate crush doing sweet gestures to Elena made her angry and envious.

How could he like an evil witch like her? She was just a pretty face. Do boys are only up to that thing? Wait until you see her true colors!

But to her surprise, he once repeated that sweet gesture to Elena while he smiles so damn cute to her evil cousin. How it's so frustrating that those smiles are only for Elena. She sighed in frustration and disappointment as she just decided to get down on that willow tree. She realized she can't stand seeing Thyago being so sweet to Elena. It made her jealous, really jealous...

What am I doing up in a tree anyway? This would be humiliating if someone caught me in this situation. It's not even nice for a girl like me to climb up on a tree. Oh gosh, this is stupidity!

Castigating herself on what she did, she finally decided to leave the place and get inside the house before Elena and Thyago will see her peeking on them that will tend to embarrass herself. She doesn't wanna accept the fact that this time, for just once, she envied her cousin Elena. That evil witch! She was lucky to have Thyago's attention.
