“Genevieve, Eve,” Noah called as he ran after her and held her arms before she could get into her car.

“What do you want now, Noah?”

“Wait. We have to talk.”

“About what? You want to question why I did that inside and on her birthday too? Look, I have nothing to say. I have to leave.”

“I'm not going to talk about that at all.”

Eve rolled her eyes. If he was here to doubt her or say something offensive this time, then she isn't going to take that from him at all.

“Fine then. Say what you want. I only have five minutes to spare. I have somewhere to be at.”

Noah dipped his hands into his pocket. How was he going to say this?

“I'm sorry, Genevieve.”

Her eyes widened at this. What? He was apologizing.

“What?”

“I said I'm sorry.”

Noah looked away in embarrassment. It wasn't his thing to apologize at all. Apologizing for something was never in his dictionary and it doesn't matter to him if he was right or wrong. Either way, he never apologized.
