Uh-oh... Cara is having a huge dilemma. Hi, it's me. I'm the problem it's me. Anyways, please I am asking a small request to rate and leave a review at the front page of my story to help me with my engagements and attract more readers. Thank you and love you all. (っ.❛ ᴗ ❛.)っ
[3rd POV—Damon]Damon watches Cara’s still asleep figure. She seemed to be more relaxed than those other nights after the incident, and she hadn’t woken up screaming, which was good, especially knowing how restless she had been these past few weeks. His gaze wandered to the pinkish mar on her shoulder. It was a small cut but one of many.He failed to protect her, and she wasn’t wrong to put the blame on him for what happened.Walsh is still alive, and he wasn’t done tormenting him day by day.Thinking of whom, Damon remembered he still had yet to check that dick and his status after he cut the skin on his chest open.Leaning down, he places a lingering kiss on her shoulder, just beside the discolored skin. As much as he wished to stay for a bit longer, the time wasn’t on his side. He still has much to do before dawn breaks, and it would be too risky for him to be seen in daylight leaving the premises. Gingerly, Damon climbed off the bed, picking off his discarded clothing and the gu
[3rd POV—Damon]“The old Burson is alive?” Davien catechized in a state of astonishment after Damon broke the recent news to him. “And you made Walsh confess about it?”Before Damon came into this city, Burson’s family once dominated this place. It had descended into complete anarchy. Drugs are readily available to minors, the crime rate is on the rise everywhere, and there is no way for innocent people to go down the alleys without fear of being attacked or mugged, much worst, murdered, and raped.Today, after overthrowing Burson, supposedly killing him and seizing control of the top syndicate. The city had fallen into Damon’s complete command. No children aged eighteen and below can access drugs and can hold high-caliber weapons. The criminals answer to him and not the authorities. He devised penalties and displayed them publicly as an example for everyone to observe and learn from. They know that if one breaks the law, it be the end of them.He might work in black society, and othe
[3rd POV—Davien] Davien’s fingertips smashing into the keyboard resounded in the background as he worked in front of his massive monitors. He was coding a new program to heighten their security system that not even Pentagon’s most skillful IT programmers could breach. All the while, he was monitoring the status of their satellite orbiting the earth. He was also searching for any leads—traces of Burson.Damon burned that fucker’s family to ground a long time ago for good, and it mystified them how the hell he was still alive.Despite being exactly alike to his brother in all appearances, Davien distinguished himself as the happy-go-lucky and the geeky one. While his twin seemed to have carried all the burden in the world. Though, the two of them have been inseparable since birth. Davien was only five minutes older than Damon, but with their attitude, it seemed like he was the younger one. They were born in France, and their mother died when they were at the young age of six.Leaving t
[Cara] I really don’t get what Damon Montreal saw in me to act as if what transpired the other night was nothing and that it wasn’t a big deal.Like, how?I know I’m being irrational with my decision these past few days and that I wasn’t mentally stable at the moment. Given that, on the wrong side, and I was deliberately cheating on him on technical bases since we are now engaged. Not officially, but at least it was agreed upon by both parties.I mean, I am his fiancé, and I just slept with another man while he was inside the vicinity of my property. It wasn’t just any random man. To make matters worse, it was my creepy midnight stalker who used to come into my room every night and watch me sleep. That made me feel horrible, and there are no ifs or buts about the fact that I pledged guilty to it.Apparently, he wasn’t oblivious to it. It is clear that he was aware that something was off on that particular evening, but what gets under my skin is that he pretends like it was nothing.Li
[Cara] Nancy closed her eyes and took a deep breath, calming herself before she looked at me squarely. “Okay, this really sounded crazy, but…you remember when I called and asked you if you want coffee since I am going to be dropping by my favorite shop on my way here?”I gave her a nod and thought back to when she had texted me, saying that she was going to stop over for some coffee. I was about to respond, yet she cut me off again with an outburst.“Hah! Crazily, there had been some action happening on the road, car chasing, shoot out, and crash accident. Unfortunately, I just found myself in the middle of it, and guess what? Damon was involved, and he was carrying a very dangerous long gun. He did protect me, nonetheless, but he was so damn mean and scary. That’s not even the worst part. I saw him kill two people! Shoot them straight in the head and didn’t even care about it.”She wasn’t finished yet. Nancy sucked up another deep breath and animatedly continued her story. “Then…th
[Cara]I couldn’t sleep. For the last few hours, I was sitting in front of my vanity mirror, watching my own reflection. Tears had already dried up in my eyes, though they were still swollen and a little bit red. The golden tresses of my hair were still damp after showering, leaving the entire section on the back of my robe wet, and I didn’t bother blowing it dry nor care to brush it. That’s the least of my concerns right now.Earlier, Nancy found me before I lost my shit together and plummeted to my imminent death. She brought with her my anti-anxiety pills and some bottled water. Fortunately, she came just in time and saved me even though she was losing her shit as well.We both then stayed at the stairs, letting me bawl my eyes out and curse Damon and his blasted twin, whose name remains a mystery.Just thinking back about it made me furious. How could I be so naive as to not consider the possibility of such happening? At the very least, I should have been able to guess. Only if I
[Cara]“Cara.” He called softly, but I refused to listen to his voice, vehemently shaking my head as my palm ran up to the surface of my vanity, skimming through the corner. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that the sound of my own name would be so foreign in my ears while at the same time feeling so familiar and touching me in those intimate places inside where I shouldn’t be feeling anything.“Cara—”“Don’t you dare say my fucking name!” I badgered, anger sparking in me again, combusting into a fiery fury that quickly erupted into a raging inferno. As though a giant wildfire were sweeping through my entire being at an accelerating rate.Heedlessly, he was about to close the distance between us, but I quickly grabbed the knife I had taken earlier from the kitchen and pointed it threateningly at him.“Don’t you dare come fucking closer! I ain’t afraid to use this.”I don’t know what kind of notion came into me and why I even thought of bringing it inside my room, but it is qu
[3rd POV—Damon] “Shit!”Damon swiftly caught Cara before she could fall to the floor, grunting as most of her weight landed on his wounded arm.Apparently, she had cut him deep, and the wound ran down from his elbow, slashing down just the cuff to his wrist. He knew that it wasn’t her intention to hurt him physically, even though she was carelessly brandishing the knife in front of her just to threaten him. She figured it out too soon, and Davien called him too late about his encounter with Nancy this morning. Well, unfortunately, he did try contacting him, but for some reason, he couldn’t connect to his com-device and thus failed to warn him.Much to his luck, it so happens that Nancy was caught in the middle of their manhunt operation after two of their prisoners escaped.Damon sighs, clearing Cara’s hair out from her face.He could feel her pain, the betrayal, and deception in her face, and for the first time, he was hurt. Not because of the wound she gave him but to see her cry.
