Finally...Leaving the hospital was the best news so far,but going back to the very same mansion that I lived with the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with was miserable.
From afar I could see the guards and maids standing at the front door of the mansion.
"Welcome home Mr Rolland!" Canada and the others standing in front of me with a tray of milk and cookies said warmly.
"Thanks," I said plainly.
"Take me to my room Mark,"I said a bit harshly.
"Yes boss" in no time I was in the very same room me and Nuella shared, and it all came back, coming back to me.
"Do you want anything else, boss?" Mark asked.
No response.
"I'll take that as a no" she concluded.
"Please call me whenever you need me to do something for you, I'll be right out the door" he said, turning his back to disappear.
I sat on my wheelchair,I
The basement was pitch black, she was as blind as if her eyes had been gouged. Her body washed cold. She brought her fingers to her eye sockets, they were still there. She turned back to the stairs and tried to run up, but her foot fell through each one like it was a mere projection. So how had she walked down them? She leant forwards to touch the stair and felt a fabric fall down her arm, soft and velvety.Cold metal touched her forehead, one grope told her it was a pointed hat, like a fairy tale crown. She grabbed it and a mirror appeared in front of her, glowing like a television screen. It was her, broken face and all, dressed like some picture book queen. She swallowed.“The queen must die,” isn't that what the ghost said?.Without sight of any knife in the mirror the image began to bleed from the neck. She raised her hand to feel the sticky warm fluid about her throat. She screamed; the image
Approaching the low level gate, fancy wrought iron in a grey stone wall. The house is a simple country home, less desirable for being so far out of town. The front door, made of dark wood planks with black hinges spreading half way across, had that rustic appeal the rich city folk craved.Inside it would be renovated, no expense spared, the charm of the country with every modern convenience of a penthouse suite. Before pressing the intercom she let her fingers walk over the rough stone walls, stone lifted from the very dales she'd grown up in.Even in the warm spring sunshine there was a coolness to it. She let her eyes absorb the myriad of hues, all grey but made unique by their variance in minerals. She removed her hand and turned to press the button, but as her finger moved forward the door opened. Her professional smile was instant, her patter on autopilot. The thought of Nuella all just coming back to me and all
"She had grown with me, forged a love that could not be matched, hmmmm.." I let out a soft chuckle."Whether to say who had aged better, she would never tell. On a day where the heat had reached its peak and the afternoon had nothing left to offer, she would lay her cheek against my cool, dark surface, follow the grooves with a finger and count the nicks with each memory of how they came to be." Saying that quite out loud"When she awoke in a cold sweat, the darkness fresh inside and outside her mind, I would talk to her, speak words of encouragement in that high, teetering voice of mines until she made it to other end of the hall and to her mother’s room. You’re almost there. You’re almost there. No one had ever grown closer to her than me, no one had ever come closer to feeling like home." I sighed, that was her favorite story line from the book "Memories" by Dim Leon, I remember
As the early morning birds sings, and I enjoy the melody, Maryam reached out toward the curtain and drew it aside in one strong motion. The light flooded in, bathing me in it's warm golds, revealing to me the colours it had brought to the world beyond my window pane, followed by the musty smell of old furniture."Gawd?"I said, really trying to avoid the smell."Good morning Mr Rolland"she said with a little bit of caution in her voice."How are you Maryam, it's too early to be up"I said, trying to make her leave me alone."No it's not, it's past twelve sir, you need to wake up" she said, I let out a loud groan, I was still laying down, trying to let my mind settle, then I managed to sit up.Maryam was busy picking up all my dirty clothes on the floor and making sure the room looked clean, she kept dusting the old chairs and trying to make them look alive."Wooof... Wooof!!!" She

"Maryam am sorry" I repeated a thousand times now."Okay fine, so I was thinking of going out tonight with you....?" I said, trying to catch her attention, I watched her angry face turn into a blooming flower."Really?" she asked excitedly."Yes.... Like a park or something" I said to her."Yes!!! Yes!!!" she seems pretty excited, well guess this was a good or should I say, a better way to get a woman talking."Alright then" I said turning my back to face her, I was on my way out to get some coffee."Don't be late this time for breakfast, there won't be a second chance!! " she said aloud."Okay Maryam, I won't," I said, turning to look at her, I drew a cross at the left side of my chest."I cross my heart" I told her.Immediately I entered my silver grey Mercedes S600, and drove

ETHAN'S POVIt's been over a year and three months,2 weeks, 6 days, 12 hours, 24 minutes, 48 seconds since Ethan has been in coma,I can't swear but I began to lose all hope."Hey" Mark said."Hey Mark," she said."How are you doing?" he asked."Am better" her faint voice said."You don't look so," he said."How can I be, Mark looks at him,he is dying,he is dying..." Hot streaming tears rolling down my face."Calm down, don't say that, Ethan is strong,he's going to get out of this" Mark seemed so sure about what he was saying."I really hope so, I really do," she said, wrapping Mark into a tight hug.She stood next to Ethan body laying down lifeless, she could feel her heart pounding and her hand icy cold, later that night, Mark was gone, she was tired and the doctors already came to check up on him,
