Chapter 6: cold

Their guests went to the reception. Benjamin and Kristi are in the limousine. They both can't believe they are married.

Kristi looked at Benjamin who was staring at the window. Kristi sighed.

She thought that it was her fault that Benjamin was acting strange. 

"Do you want us to go to the reception?" she asked him. She feels lonely. She thought she would be happy but she won't.

"What do you mean? Are you that excited to have sex with me?" Benjamin turns sarcastic. He wanted to have a normal wedding and he wanted to experience everything. It's his first time getting married and Kristi wanted him to skip the reception!

"Why are you talking with me that way? I'm not excited to have sex with you," she exclaimed. She looks at him using her cold gaze. She's hurt.

"I can have sex with any man who wants me. Who do you think you are?"

"We are married, Kristi. And don't you tell me that!" Benjamin is mad after hearing what Kristi says.

"Ha! We are married and here you are staring at the window for almost an hour. That's why I'm asking you if you want to skip the reception. Don't you dare insult me in that way?" she warned him. She is furious because she feels her heart is in pain.

Benjamin stopped. He assumes that Kristi was excited to do that thing but he's wrong. He feels his ears numb.

Kristi looked away and didn't dare to look at him again. Benjamin was sad when Kristi didn't look at him.

Benjamin didn't know why he was acting that way.

Kristi's eyes turned chilly when she saw Catriona looking at her. She saw how Catriona looked at Benjamin with hurt in her eyes. She felt how Benjamin stopped when he saw her ex-fiancé.

"Benjamin, what is the meaning of this?" Catriona shouted and asked for an answer

Benjamin walked towards her. When Kristi saw how Benjamin held Catriona she felt jealous.

"Catriona, what are you doing here?" Benjamin questioned her. 

"Am I not invited here? I thought you were my fiancé! Benjamin, she broke your heart and abandoned you!" she cried in pain. She wanted to kill Kristi but she couldn't.

"After you abandoned him, you went back here to marry him. Who do you think you are? He's a human!" Catriona dares to shout at her. She looked at her emotionless.

What does this woman think? Is she the same Kristi that she used to bully?

"Are you done?" she sarcastically recited.

"Miss Catriona, I don't care about your feelings. It's Benjamin's decision. And sadly, you're just temporary," she used her icy tone.

"And who am I? The floor that you are standing on now is mine. And I am Kristi Velasquez ops. It's Kristi Bustamante now," she smiled.

"Kristi stop it," Benjamin wanted to stop her. But she can't conquer her anger anymore.

"You want me to stop this? She isn't invited to our wedding and you are protecting her,"

Benjamin didn't rebut. Kristi was right and now their guests were watching them.

"Kristi," Daniel shouted his sister's name. Anger is evident on his gorgeous face. He looks at Benjamin like he is warning him.

"Why is your woman here?" he shouted. He wanted to punch his brother-in-law but he knows Kristi will not like it.

"Security!" Kristi called. Benjamin can't believe what Kristi did. He wanted to talk to Catriona and apologize for not telling her about the wedding. He's afraid that he will hurt her.

After how Catriona helped her when he was devastated when Kristi left him.

"Kristi stopped it. I will talk to her," his voice doesn't sound pleasing but annoyed.

"Really. Benjamin, you have weeks to tell her about this but you still chose not to tell her," she sarcastically replies.

"The reception is canceled. I don't want to see people. If you want Catriona, go with her, and I can meet someone who wants me," she was angry. She turns her back and she hears Benjamin shouting her name.

Her eyes watered because of what happened. She was hurt because she thinks that Benjamin was in love with Catriona. That he can't hurt her.

She gritted her teeth.

No one can hurt her again. Even Benjamin!

Her driver was waiting for her. She wipes her tears. She thought she would be happy after everything that she suffered.

"Where are we going, Madam?" her driver asked her.

She looked out the window and saw Benjamin was running to her car but she looked away like she didn't see him.

"Let's go to the private bar. But I will change first," she ordered and her driver automatically obliged.

Benjamin can't believe that Kristi left him again. He wanted to punch something. He's frustrated with Kristi's actions in front of Catriona.

"Benjamin, how dare you do this to me!" Catriona follows him. She was crying, her eyes were bloodshot.

"Catriona, I don't want to hurt you, that's why I didn't tell you about this. It's my fault, I'm sorry," he apologized but deep in his heart, he was devastated. He wanted to follow Kristi but he found it weird.

He thought he didn't love her. It feels like Kristi was giving him to Catriona. And his heart is aching when he thought about it.

"You just need to tell me, Benjamin, after all, we're friends right?" Catriona sounded different. After hearing those words Benjamin's conscience hit him.

"I can understand everything for you. I wish we were still friends," she mumbles but in her heart, she wanted to murder Kristi. She gulps her pride and she swears that Kristi will pay for what she did.

"Yes. We're still friends. I'm sorry. I'm embarrassed and I know you'll get hurt if I tell you that," Benjamin bowed his head.

He thought where is Kristi going?

"Bustamante," He looked at the man who called him. He saw Daniel with his brothers who were looking at him.

"Are you done flirting with another woman?" Daniel sarcastically interrogates him.

"I'm not flirting with her. She's my friend," he reasoned out.

"You mean, you sleep with your friend? Do you know us? Benjamin, we don't like the idea that my sister will get married to you. I wish Shaun was here. He loves Kristi, I even plan to meet them together. You aren't worthy of Kristi after what she suffered because of you!" The younger brother yells in irritation.

"Let's find Kristi, Daniel. If something happens to her, You'll pay for everything. Even your slutty woman." Another man talks. 

"They are rude. Benjamin, are you sure about this? Kristi doesn't love you! Look at his brothers and she left you after your wedding ceremony," Catriona whispered. She's like a snake, and she wanted Benjamin to get angry with Kristi.

"I will find her. Thank you for coming," He said to Catriona. And left her.

Kristi went to her house first to change and then she heard a loud knock on her door. 

"Kristi!" she heard Benjamin's voice.

"Open this damn door, Kristi!" he shouted again.

He yells like a mad man. She decided to open the door for Benjamin. She saw his irritable face.

"You left me there? Seriously, you like leaving me," Benjamin's voice is tired. 

"You're with Catriona. Be thankful that I give you to her." she bluntly told him. She walked toward her bedroom and Benjamin followed her.

"We're married, Have you forgotten? We got married hours ago!" He debated and kept reminding his wife.

She rolled her eyes.

"Fine. Stop nagging at me. You know I don't like naggers,"

"Oh! I will nag you more. You forced me to marry you so live with it," Benjamin reasoned out.

"Where is our house? Do I need to live here?" he questions her.

"If you want to live here, it's totally fine with me," she answered. 

Benjamin felt something in his heart after Kristi answered his question like she doesn't care.

"Alright. Let's live together. Do we need to have sex now?" he asked frankly. Kristi looked at him in disgust.

"I can't. The guest room is available," she acted coldly on him. 

"We're married. Stop acting like we didn't sleep together in the same bed," he exclaimed and went to her bed laying down.

Benjamin faces the other side, enclosing his eyes. Kristi looks at his back. She sighed.

Kristi woke up and found herself hugged by Benjamin. They both embrace each other like no one can separate them again. Her mouth hangs open.

She missed everything. Benjamin is her home.

But her happiness is temporary when Benjamin acts coldly when he wakes up. 

"Are you alright?" She asked her, she can't believe it.

"Yeah. Why are you asking me?" he answered.

"Let's eat breakfast. I want you to cook for me.

," She smiled after saying those words. But her smile faded when Benjamin looked at her without emotion.

"Kristi, don't you still don't know how to cook? Did you cook for Alessandro when you got married?" he arrogantly asked her.

"Alessandro again?" Kristi can't believe Benjamin's mind.

"Yeah. You want me to cook for you, do you cook for Alessandro when you're both together? Am I your slave?" The bitterness came out to Benjamin's tongue.

"Why are you being like this? Why do you keep mentioning his name!" 

"Benjamin, you are my husband now," she added.

"Yes, I am your husband now but when you were asleep you were crying and kept mentioning his name! Are you playing with me? Do I look like a fool to you?" After hearing what Benjamin said, she gasps in surprise.

She dreams of everything in her past. Her trauma, for how Alessandro protected her.

"And now you are crying because of your dead husband!" Jealousy fills in his face.

"Stop mentioning his name. Stop it!" she went to the bathroom aggressively.

Benjamin can't believe how Kristi reacts when he mentions her dead husband's name. He awakes in the middle of the night because Kristi was crying and kept mentioning Alessandro. He feels jealous that Kristi didn't love him from the start.

He pulled his hair in annoyance and looked at the bathroom door. 

"Man, stop being an immature jealous boy!" he reminded himself. He thinks that Kristi will wake him up to that thing.

"You don't love her again. She will leave you again," he added while talking to himself. He decided to go to his company.

Antonio was furious after he found out that Kristi tied the knot with his friend. He can't believe that all of his plans get demolished.

"I want to talk to your boss," he said using his mad voice on Kristi's secretary. 

"Mister Flavio, Madam is busy now. She has a lot of paperwork after having an off," Kristi's secretary reasoned at him.

"I'm his friend, I want to talk to her," he said desperately. He wanted to punch everything.

He breathes out.

He wanted to cry in frustration. He wanted to punch his friend for marrying Kristi. 

He calmed himself and looked at Kristi's secretary. 

"Please inform her that I need to talk to her," he pleads.

The secretary sighed in annoyance but they both looked at Kristi's door when it opened. Kristi looked at them emotionless.

"Antonio," she called his name. He feels his heart race.

Antonio walked near her and hugged her. He smells Kristi and calms his nerves.

"I thought I'm your friend, but you didn't invite me to your wedding," he acted like he was miserable.

If he finds out everything he will do everything to stop the wedding. 

"I forgot to tell you. I'm sorry," Kristi apologized. She looked at Antonio's sights.

"I will forgive you if you allow me to eat dinner with you," he said using his flirty tone.
