As Alminah was on her way outside the palace, she saw Prince Jion conversing lively to the beautifully dressed lady inside the carriage. She presumed her to be princess Sue. Then both turned her way when the palace guard announced her arrival.
Alminah noticed his face drawn into displeasure while princess Sue looked at her blankly. She held her chin up as she finally got in the carriage with them. Silence was between them throughout their long journey.
Princess Sue scooted over Prince Jion as if afraid of the daughter of barbarian. He patted her hand as if assuring her safety with him. By the sight of it, Alminah chose to ignore it as she turned her attention from the outside view.
Behind that veil, Prince Jion cannot ascertain what Alminah held on her thoughts now. He cannot behold her face nor tell if there was a tinge of jealousy on her.
At sun down, they had reached the land Moldova and passed a certain town which was one of their target lands to receive the goods they brought from the palace.
Prince Jion commanded to have stopped in the place. Ten chariots carried all the goods intended for the town. All of the citizens of it gathered with their large family in the plaza and welcomed the arrival of the royals from kingdom Romania.
Prince Jion and Princess Sue got off from the carriage waving their greetings to the citizens but Alminah remained inside. People were waiting to see the wife of the prince since they heard that she was coming with him.
“Come here outside, princess.” He sternly ordered.
“I only promise to come but not to join you, prince. Besides, these are not my league. In my land we do not do alms giving. So please excuse me and continue your business.” Alminah said.
“What is wrong Jion? She wont join us?” Sue asked, eyeing Alminah. It did not slip off from Alminah’s ears. She called the prince on his name? Were they that close?
“I apologized for the misbehavior of my wife, princess Sue.” He said while secretly glaring at Alminah.
For the moment passed, Princess Sue and Prince Jion gave the oblations to the town families, asked for some problems they had encountered and even visited them from their humble residence.
There was one citizen, a father, approached the prince and asked to help his child from a very odd disease. They did visit his home and found a girl laid on her bed. She seemed very weak indeed as they behold her. The mother weep having the prince and princess Sue personally visited their humble abode and see their circumstance.
“My heart is gladden seeing our highness cared for his people.” The mother even kissed his hand.
“Please don’t trouble yourself.” The prince said and smiled gently at her. “I shall send a physician here to see thy daughter’s health so that she can receive medications.”
“Oh my prince, your highness! We thank thee! We thank thee!” The parents rejoiced upon hearing it.
The royal carriage went to the household of Duke in Moldova to have rest for two days.
The land was large and the garden was spacious. Indeed, the land belonged to a noble.
“My great honor to have the prince of Romania in my place.”The duke bowed before him. “And it was my pleasure to see the princess with him.”
“I thank thee for the welcoming, duke of Moldova.” Princess Sue remarked.
Princess Alminah was not even recognized as they went inside the house of the duke. However, she cannot concern herself about the matter for her thoughts fled to someone in particular. She looked up the sky and ascertained that the night will be pitch darker later. She was about to be carried by a vision when somebody grabbed her arm.
“The wife of the duke wished to see you. What are you doing hither?” Prince Jion frowned. He was obviously exhausted.
Princess Alminah stared at him blankly. “I wish not to see any of them for I am weary.”
“Weary?” He exclaimed in disbelief. “You did not even set your foot outside the carriage and you are weary?”
“Yes, prince. I am indeed weary. Now please excuse me.” She entangled her arm off him and walked inside the house. The duchess was coming their way when princess Alminah walked passed by her.
“I apologize for not paying respect to thy wife, prince.” The duchess bowed to him. Her husband thought Princess Sue was the prince’s wife and not her. They have heard that the prince of Romania got married to Teuton’s daughter to cease the war.
“Nay, I apologize for her attitude.” Prince Jion said. “We shall go inside and discuss things about the town people in thy land.”
“Yes, your highness.” The Duchess said reverently.
On her own room, Princess Alminah removed her veil and watched outside the window. It was so pitch dark outside as she opened it. Once again, the room was filled with sweet scent of a wild flower. She looked up into the sky and breathed the air coming from the woody forest. The wolf howled loudly as Princess Alminah jumped off from the window. None of the palace guards surrounding the duke’s house noticed as she slipped off a horse and brought it to a distance. Before she finally rode it, she turned to the house in great distance and muttered something in her own native tongue.
“Father, the night is dark but I shall go.” She said as she go.

Epilogue The whole tribe, now dwell in the valley Zagreb, waited for one person to arrive in the field. It has been two weeks since the young prince departed, leaving his wife in the care of her own tribe. The large blue moon lighted the dark fields but it made the heart of the princess melancholic. It has been many nights, she was alone in bed without the heat from her husband's body. The teuton tribe people rounded on the large bonfire after the merry making. Alminah bit her lower lip while tracing with her hands the gem she acquired on the wild river. Jion trekked into the mountains, alone. To retrieve the heart of the active volcano. She knew that his quest would require him his life, she told the prince of
Alminah was silenced as she arrived at the great river. She had removed her cloaked and let it dropped onto the grassy ground. She listened to the wild thrashing of the river falls and the violent rapids. She was atop and beholding the frightening deep waters below. Her horse made a sound of protest when she crouched down as if readying herself to launched forward. Her eyes glistened blue, her normal eyes, when she smiled to the horse, calming the beast before she jumped into a perfect dive. Almost immediately, she was swallowed by the river and never came out the surface for a while. The horse, if it was even possible to have its leash untied, would like to go and save the tribe princess. The noise of the horse whinnying so loudly draw the attentions of the royal carriage as well as the royal guards passing by the rivers."A horse?" Princess Sue commented to no one in particular. Both prince Woon and Prince Jion were outside t
Dari hastily strode towards the large tent situated at the heart of the valley. A scroll with the royal crest on it was on his right hand. When he was admitted inside by the warriors guarding the entrance, he saw the tribe king in conversation with another tribe chief from the west.KingTeutonraisedhisheadwhenhebeheldDariwhobowedbeforehim."An epistle from the royal family, chief Teuton." Dari said respectfully. When Teuton nodded to him, he went to hand him the scroll and waited for his order.Teuton untied the scroll from the gold-plated thread. He immediately read the heading of the epistle which made his forehead creased slightly. The chief trie from the west gave Teuton a studying gaze before he asked. "What contains it, Teuton?"It took awhile before Teuton could answer Ashir of his inquiry as he made sure to finish reading the scroll b
The tribe princess had made her own point in not raging war again and because of that, Chief Teuton was freed. It wasn't because of democratic way of dealing the elites but rather it was by force into agreeing to her.The large group of the tribe slowly emerged out the gate of the kingdom, trekking the very lands of their inheritance. War has ended. But it was as if the momentary truce between the elites and the tribe was placed into a thin layer of iced river water. One wrong move and the ungodly fight will explode again."Alothadhappenedtoday, isn'titdaughter?""Yea shetai. A lot indeed." Alminah said in much meaning behind, looking ahead the horizon of the sun setting down the horizon."I'mtirednow.Goodthatthouhastendedthewarinsuchunexpectedfashion.""Areyouproudofmenow,
In the baron court, just when the sun had risen up its glory in the sky, the king, lords, vassals, knights, elite people and his counselors gathered to hear a forum about what they shall do with the Chief of the barbarians.“Weshallkillhim!”oneofthecounselorsraised.Manyagreedhispreposition.“Weshalllethimsuffer!Burnhimuntildeathattheplaza!”The king pondered deeply. He fully understood the anger his people hold on their hearts. However, there were anxieties within him that troubled his mind. What if the death of the Teuton stirs up more contentions? He knew barbarians are fierce when provoked. The decades of war were the proof of it. They will not stop until they satiate their understanding on justice. He must admit that he was getting tired of it. From the moment he was in the t

Chaerin added. As they all sat down to dine, the three of them just stared at the animated placement of the dinner ware in front of them, worried on how to handle those without shaming themselves."Oh goodness..." Shima exclaimed as she saw the sets of what look like to her as many forks, many spoons, layers of platters and lines of drinking glasses. She looked up and saw that Minah and Chaerin had the same predicament."All I wanted to do is to be glutton tonight and not use this blasted silvers." Minah r emarked in hushed tone, slightly leaning on the tables towards them."Yeah, we have fingers to reach the food and just-," Chaerin wasn't able
Lord Sten was informed of the occurring events in the large valley where the tribe circus traveler was temporarily pitching their tents. Not a hint of humor could be seen upon his facade when he got inside the dungeon of the Capulet. The house was in silent frantic upon the sudden visit of the King's royal right hand."It'sanhonortohavethee-,"Lord Sten raised his hand to the head of the house, "Save the lulling sir. Dari placed the last tent on the carriage as ordered by the Teuton chief since they were now entering the capital tonight for the circus show as requested by the grand queen to welcome his son, the king from his travel overseas. It was late in the afternoon but the sun was not setting any soon so he was privilege to do the chores without the difficulty of having no light. As he finished checking the goods including the food and the caged animals which included the black pumas, he turned to get back to his own horse when the three ladies showed up, heavily panting. “What are ye-, Shima? Are ye hurt?” Dari ran to them and affirmed that she was wounded. “What happened?” he exclaimed facing Chaerin this time. “Tis not my fault. We were just walking around, listening into crazy old tales and all of the sudden, there are fighting and Shima got hurt. Minah was mad and got involved in the fight and she made the guy Capulet angry and w
It was a very weary practice and the chief tribe allowed them to breathe some air either just to sit around the grassy valley or roamed around the capital to get familiar with the place just before they wilt have to perform the circus for the noble. Alminah and Shima shared the same interest in fine jewelries that the English women wore in some occasions so they sorted to be in the city to check some of the goodies. “Iwantedtopracticeratherthatwalkedaroundinthisnoisyplace. If it is not for our living, I’d rather me inside the tent and play swords. It is in my blood. I could felt itright in my flesh and bones.” Chaerin continued to blabber nonsense while following the two ladies around. “Oh shut it, Chae. Ye are no fun.” Alminah managed to talk despite her animated choosing of the jewelries. “Dari and Chae were like siblings who struggled to e
