(Back at Ali’s Place)
DINA’S P.O.V
I was bored and I wish Ali and Sunshine would hurry home. I can’t wait to go back to school tomorrow. Today is the last day of my suspension. For once in my life, I’m wishing to go to school. Mom would be so happy if she knew I felt this way.
It’s so awkward with Kyle and Zack here, and Dillion is no help either. He left me alone and is now in the kitchen, talking with Mark. I have no idea why he’s here and I have a feeling that Sunshine will not be okay with it, once he finds out. I sighed and continued to watch TV while I drew on my drawing pad on the ground. It was one of the things I love to do; the only problem was that I wasn’t good at drawing. I was very bad at it.
“What are you doing?” asked Zack.
Matthews P.O.VSeeing Mark, as well as saying his name, puts a bad taste in my mouth. He looks bad and smells bad, and that means he must be bad. I wish Ali would listen to me when I warned her about this man. I know everything and my mother says I’m the wisest man among my peers.Ali walked forward to give him a hug. It didn’t miss my attention when I caught Dillion trying to silently slip out of the kitchen with his crutches. It’s hard to not notice him leaving when his crutches are making squeaking noises against the kitchen floor. I wonder how he feels about Mark. I cleared my throat and quickly stopped their hug.“Matthew.” Greeted mark with a hand to shake.I looked at his hand and ignored it; choosing to nod my head in greeting. Ali looked at me and rolled her eyes at my rudeness. Accepting that I wouldn’t s
Matthews P.O.VWhen we arrived at Lia’s, and ordered our food, I made sure to tell the waiter to have soup made to go, before we leave. I don’t know if Samantha has eaten dinner yet. I told her that I would have one of my maids watch over her, but she denied my offer and demanded to be left alone. Claiming that she didn’t want to get anyone sick, saying that it’s best for her to be left alone. I feel like she’s hiding something, but I’ll tackle that another day. We ordered our food and when it finally arrived, the boys eagerly began to eat.“We like it here. Our mom used to bring us here when we would come to New York.” Said Kyle.I was a bit surprised.“When was the last time you were here?” I asked.“A long time ago, before ruby was born.” Zack
Matthew P.O.V“Come on Matthew, let’s go outside. You and I need to let these two solve this themselves.” Said Mikey.Mikey walked outside the door and I stepped out with him; shutting the door behind me. We were not the only two in the hallway.“Explain. Now.” I said, emphasizing every word with seriousness.“When Sam and her family would take trips to Russia, Sam would go with them to the events they attended there; instead of staying in their vacation home in Russia. Since Igor and his family went to the same events, they ran into each other and became good friends. This is back when we were all kids. I mean a very long time ago; back to when Sam and I got along.” Mikey explained.I knew about the trip she used to take with her family when we were kids, but Sam hasn’
ALIS P.O.VDinner went well; I was happy that Dillion and Dina got along with Mark really well. I was bummed that Matthew chose not to stay. I hope the two boys had a good meal for dinner; if we had come home sooner, then maybe Matthew would have chosen to stay. I’ll ask him the next time I see him. I laid on my bed after being freshly showered and closed my eyes. I looked at the clock and saw that it was near midnight; I was exhausted and looked forward to going to sleep, as soon as I stepped through my apartment front door after work.Ring!Ring!Ring!I groaned and picked up my phone, without looking at the caller ID.“Hello?” I answered in a grouchy voice.“Ali, it’s Matthew.” He answered back.
MATTHEW P.O.V“It’s not going to be like that forever.” I replied. It hurt to hear the sadness in her voice when she said that she felt alone. There’s a difference between being alone and feeling alone. To say which one is the worst, would be an easy answer; it would be the feeling alone part. Many people in my circle deal with it. People may think that rich people have it all, and that we’re always living ‘the good life’, but they’re wrong. We may live financially well, but as far as feelings go, most of us aren’t okay. Even in a crowd full of people, some of us still feel alone. My mother said that in order to be truly happy, we need to have love in our lives. Just the thought of the word made me want to vomit, whenever she would say that. I’d scoff and wave my hand dismissively, because
ALI P.O.V Well this is awkward, I thought to myself.I didn’t know what to say, and he wasn’t saying anything either; which made this even more awkward. I internally groaned. We went from awkward silence in the car, to being sweet when he held my hand; back to awkward silence, to now eating something sweet. I looked up from my food when Matthew cleared his throat.I internally sighed with relief, finally he saying something.“Do you like your ice-cream?” he asked with an awkward tone.“Mmhmm.” I replied with a smile. He nodded, accepting my answer. “Good, good.”Then it came back. The awkward silence.“Do you like yours?” I asked.“Oh yes. It&r
MATTHEW P.O.V“So, what did you do after you kissed her?” asked Mikey.Mikey came over to my house this morning, to talk about Ali and I. He didn’t know that I went to see Ali right after I left Sam’s hotel yesterday. So, when he came over, I told him everything and I regret every single second of it. Having to replay the memory and saying it out loud to Mikey, felt even worse; because it was a reminder of my mistake. I was basically mortified at what I did with Ali last night. I wasn’t mortified by the fact that I kissed her. No, definitely not that; it was what I did after I kissed her. Mikey snapped his fingers in front of my face, interrupting my thoughts.“WHAT. DID. YOU. DO. MATTHEW?” he asked again, emphasizing every word.
ALI POV.[BEFORE CALLING MATTHEW THAT MORNING]“Pssst.” whispered a tiny voice.I ignored it, hoping it would go away.“Pssst.” Said the tiny voice getting louder.I stayed quiet and again hoped it would go away.“Aliiiiiii,” now the voice was whining.I groaned and turned over, my back towards the culprit. “Wake up.” Groaned the voice.I woke up when I realized it was Dina’s voice. I kept my eyes closed, hoping she would go and watch tv or back to bed. I’m sure she still has one more day off.“I have to go back to school today, and someone has to take me.&r
